we tried their crispy catfish salad, shrimps in a blanket, the steamed lapu lapu inlimedressing, their chicken sate, and the pineapple rice. the shrimps in a blanket were fairly straightforward, nothing too notable about them. the crispy catfish salad was pretty good. the steamed lapu lapu has a very very delicate flavor, others might find it a bit bland for their taste, but the fish was very well cooked. the pineapple rice and the chicken sate were both just fine. overall i wouldn't say that the food is that much of a standout, but there's no better thai food in the area, and the location is very picturesque, making it an ideal place for special occasions.

triedlimeand basil out on the way back from our trip to batangas. ❤️ gotta say, we all made a good choice choosing this place. not only did the place look cute and cozy with their thai decor, garden and homey atmosphere... the food looked and tasted great too! 🤤

⭐️ pomelo salad: pomelo was sweet, and the overall flavor profile of the salad was a mix of spicy, salty and sweet. best salad i ever had! and that says a lot, since i’m generally picky with salads. 🥗

⭐️ pad thai: the crunchy stuff on top turned out to be egg! 😮 noodles were sweet and salty, and springy too! it came with bits of chicken and is best enjoyed with a dash of lemon juice on it for a sour flavor that binds it all together.

⭐️ sticky rice with mango: great way to end the meal with something sweet! mangoes were delicious, and the sauce that came with it was a mix of milky and sweet. nice contrast to the sticky rice! 🍚

the gf and i spent our anniversary getaway this week in cozy tagaytay, and we were looking for a new place to dig in before we head back to manila. fortunately, we foundlimeand basil here in zomato!

tip: use waze when going here as the roads leading to it will get confusing (there was a closure on one of the main roads leading to the resto when we visited) and it is not along the main tagaytay-calamba road

food: (4.5/5) we enjoyed all our orders but most especially the bagoong rice, tom yum and the catfish salad. legit thai food and will give any thai resto here in the country a serious run for their money. portions were very big, good for two to three people to share, but flavorful enough that one very hungry person could finish! i liked the iced thai coffee i ordered also, and such a shame, that we were so full by the end of the main courses that we weren’t able to order dessert

place: (5/5, if pwede 6/5 pa!)limeand basil is what every resto in tagaytay should look and feel like. peaceful, clean, surrounded by nature. you’ll forget all the hustles and bustles of life when you dine here, as you’ll get inspired by the serenity around you. the only small downside is the lack of parking space, though there’s a person who will assist and lead you to where you can park outside the resto.

service: (5/5) as previously stated, there’s someone who will help you from the moment you park your car. servers were also gracious enough to find us a table even if we we didn’t have a reservation, and service was very very quick. waiting time for food was faster than what we expected for a place so full.

value for money: (5/5) the price more than justifies the quality and the amount of food served to you. as said before, all orders were good for sharing and they even have complimentary fish crackers with a yummy fish sauce-calamansi dip.

i highly recommend everyone to try and dine atlimeand basil when they go to tagaytay. it’s well worth the drive!

aroi mak! means delicious in thai and this is exactly whatlimeand basil has to offer delicious & authentic thai food!

we decided to have our dinner in this well-known but hidden thai restaurant in tagaytay it was searchable in waze though, but if you are planning to go dinner time like us the roads were a bit dark.

let me start with their complimentary crackers. it was so good! specially the dipping vinegar, it was refillable so you wouldn’t mind waiting for your food.

poh pia moo - their version of fried spring rolls, it was the biggest fried spring roll i’ve ever seen! it was “siksik” and lots of meat inside; flavor was so good and well complimented by the sweet chili relish.

pad thai - no words for this, super delish, generous amount of protein and the egg floss gives it a little more crunch.

yam som o - i really liked the dressing of their pomelo salad, but the pomelo itself was a bit sour but still it was good.

chicken with cashew - this was really good but make sure you pair with rice as it was a bit overwhelming to eat on its own.

we got 2+2 on drinks using zomato gold and i must say; their thai iced tea is sooo delish! super same lasa like the one i had in thailand. will definitely come back here soon!

can’t believe it was our first time to visit today. the food is prepared fresh, seasoned just right, prepared and presented with care. the staff is courteous and took real good care of us including a birthday song for my mil. :) would definitely visit again. the price is just right. we tried tom yum (and requested for mildly spiced, which was still good), fresh spring roll, pad thai, chicken in pandan leaves, sticky rice with mango and believe it or not...crispy pata! the latter was served with curry sauce in a separate bowl. they even gave my mil free dessert.
thank you,limeand basil.

not really a fan of thai food because the dishes in their menu are always complicated to understand. 😅 thankfully, their menu had... "subtitles" and i was with friends who are knowledgeable on thai food so i just put them in-charge of ordering while i put myself in-charge of eating. 😂

our orders were being served to us one by one and yet i didn't really know what they were. 😅 in spite of my ignorance of what we were actually eating, everything was good! the moo grob, which was crispy pork belly and pork rind in cucumber relish, was reminiscent of our own kilawin na baboy. we would have ordered sate gai, which was grilled chicken skewers, but at the time it wasn't available. my absolute favorite would have to be their kao pad saparod or pineapple fried rice. it already had chiang mai sausage mixed in so it was already good even without ulam.

at this point, we were already too full to have dessert so we just ordered their thai iced tea and it was the perfect sweet ending to our sumptuous dinner.

aside from the obvious beautiful ambiance oflimeand basil thai restaurant, another thing to be commended is their servers! they were very helpful and were always smiling! 😁

secluded in the deeper tagaytay area, limeand basil thai restaurant is perfect both for romantic dates with your significant other and for intimate get-togethers with friends.

been here 3x already, and always we leave full, delighted and impressed with the food. my husband and i were not really fans of thai food until we triedlimeand basil. love the pad thai so much that we always order 2, one to take home because i discovered that it tastes better the next day after reheating it.

the other best part is their thai iced tea(milk tea)! while it can be too concentrated, i can always ask for more ice, so i get to drink more 😆
the best thai iced tea i've tasted so far.

also like the beef and chicken curry and tom yum.

the place has serene surroundings and it's a great escape from the crowded restaurants in tagaytay.

definitely going back there on our next tagaytay trip.

i haven’t eaten much thai food, but to my surprise, because of this tucked away hidden gem of tagaytay, i think i will be frequenting thai. but don’t get me wrong, i’m still on the lookout for the best pad thai in town. this has been my first ever review, and it speaks volume. without further ado, let’s get into it.

we went here saturday lunch at around 12:30pm, and as lucky as we can get, the place isn’t full. and we are already starving. for starter, i would normally order my usual and safe appetizer, fresh spring rolls— which is as fresh as it can get. all the flavors and texture just plays beautifully in your palate. and just a fair warning, it’s highly addictive!

pad thai— this was my main course since i am not in the mood to eat rice. and as mentioned, i am still on a continuous quest for the best pad thai in town. so why pass on the opportunity, right? and boy oh boy, one bite, and i thought to myself, “the search is finally over.” the noodles are cooked to perfection, shrimps are fresh and not frozen, and the egg gives alot more texture and flavor to the whole dish. squeeze in a drop oflimeand it’s perfect. i wouldn’t mind going to tagaytay on weekends just for this.

kaprao nua— my boyfriend’s order. the thinly sliced and perfectly cooked tender beef with basil with just the right amount of spice, also sealed the deal. i find myself forking out few pieces to munch because it’s that flavorful. i suddenly realized that thai food really don’t require a lot of seasonings since they always opt to using the finest herbs, spices, and ingredients for their dishes.

kaffirlimecreme brulee with yellow mangoes — this has got to be my least favorite among all that we ordered due to the fact that the mangoes are a little bit sour and the kaffir flavor is just subtle. i was expecting it to be a bit bold. but the brulee itself is perfectly done just the way i want it, not runny.

i must also say, that the complimentary kropek they serve with a calamansi-honey dip(i think) is a perfect palate cleanser. you would want to indulge in one food to another after eating these. it’s also very addicting.

overall, i was really impressed with how this restaurant caters authentic thai cuisine worthy of your money. i kept on saying that this has made it to one of my favorite restaurants to date. i loved everything. will definitely go back to try other dishes for sure.

reservation was a breeze as i booked last minute via zomato online. i guess coz it’s off peak hour on a saturday. it was hot where we came from and coming tolimeand basil is a welcome retreat with its cool wind and alfresco dining. our big group was quickly seated and we ordered : steamed lapu-lapu, chix satay, pad thai, tom yum, green curry. i only took 1 food photo tho😆 their satay serving is bigger than usual. not used to their peanut sauce as i prefer the vinegar-based one. the pad thai has this pork floss looking topping which is an added treat to the usual ones we have in other restos. the fish is always a fave, for my father esp, as he was raving at how good it was. can’t say much on the green curry as i’m not a fan of too spicy food. my bro said it’s ok. tom yum was my surprise favorite among the dishes. it has the perfect mix of hot and sour for me. tastes more calamansi-like than tamarind to me.
the place is simply inviting and the use of the outside space is practical too. would have been perfect if there’s more toilet considering the size of the place and some way to shoo away the flies.
