i haven’t eaten much thai food, but to my surprise, because of this tucked away hidden gem of tagaytay, i think i will be frequenting thai. but don’t get me wrong, i’m still on the lookout for the best pad thai in town. this has been my first ever review, and it speaks volume. without further ado, let’s get into it.
we went here saturday lunch at around 12:30pm, and as lucky as we can get, the place isn’t full. and we are already starving. for starter, i would normally order my usual and safe appetizer, fresh spring rolls— which is as fresh as it can get. all the flavors and texture just plays beautifully in your palate. and just a fair warning, it’s highly addictive!
pad thai— this was my main course since i am not in the mood to eat rice. and as mentioned, i am still on a continuous quest for the best pad thai in town. so why pass on the opportunity, right? and boy oh boy, one bite, and i thought to myself, “the search is finally over.” the noodles are cooked to perfection, shrimps are fresh and not frozen, and the egg gives alot more texture and flavor to the whole dish. squeeze in a drop oflimeand it’s perfect. i wouldn’t mind going to tagaytay on weekends just for this.
kaprao nua— my boyfriend’s order. the thinly sliced and perfectly cooked tender beef with basil with just the right amount of spice, also sealed the deal. i find myself forking out few pieces to munch because it’s that flavorful. i suddenly realized that thai food really don’t require a lot of seasonings since they always opt to using the finest herbs, spices, and ingredients for their dishes.
kaffirlimecreme brulee with yellow mangoes — this has got to be my least favorite among all that we ordered due to the fact that the mangoes are a little bit sour and the kaffir flavor is just subtle. i was expecting it to be a bit bold. but the brulee itself is perfectly done just the way i want it, not runny.
i must also say, that the complimentary kropek they serve with a calamansi-honey dip(i think) is a perfect palate cleanser. you would want to indulge in one food to another after eating these. it’s also very addicting.
overall, i was really impressed with how this restaurant caters authentic thai cuisine worthy of your money. i kept on saying that this has made it to one of my favorite restaurants to date. i loved everything. will definitely go back to try other dishes for sure.
