life is good korean bbq

no food when near closing time.. we came here for mother's day after church so we arrived around 12:45. they mentioned buffets' only till 2 and if we're ok with that. we said it's fine there's still plenty of time. by thetimewe got seated (since there's 12 of us) that was roughly 1pm we went straight to the buffet but guess what.... there was barely any food! they said they will refill it so we waited! they just refilled the japchae... and rice.. the rest nada! the food they grilled was fine but you can only order 1 at atimewhich will take roughly 20 mins for them to serve what you ordered. moral lesson: don't go there when it's near closingtimecause they will not have any food.

tonight my boyfriend and i came here for dinner. this was our firsttimetrying korean food. we asked the staff about getting one dish that we saw here on their zomato page, however they no longer make that dish. we then asked what they would recommend, and ended up ordering the spicy chicken and the pork kimchi. the food was very hot when it came to the table- bubbling actually. we were excited to try the food. the spicy chicken was a little spicy, i wouldn’t say it was a spice level 3 like the menu states. the pork was good, but all i could taste was the kimchi. we aren’t sure if this is how the food was supposed to taste, as we have nothing to compare it to and it was not at all what i expected. we didn’t like the fact that the restaurant was empty, and when a couple came in they sat them right beside us. overall the restaurant is nice inside and the service is good.

have eaten here a couple of times and neithertimewas i wowed by it. the decor is amazing; very modern, and the bathroom was so spotless you could eat in it. the staff tries their best to talk to you about the food and make suggestions if you are unsure about anything. both times i went they offered free ice cream for dessert as well, which was nice. unfortunately that is about where the pros end. the atmosphere was ruined by someone in the back yelling repeatedly at the staff for not working hard enough. i get that it's an issue for them, but it should be handled in private and not in earshot of customers. the food (i had a kimchi stew the firsttimeand a bibimbap the second time) was lacking in the flavor i am used to in authentic korean food. even the chili sauce tasted much more mild and flavorless than the gochujang i use at home to make my own bibimbap, which sadly knocks this place's dish out of the park. furthermore, their kimchi seemed hardly flavored at all, and i asked for the spicy option. it was bland in comparison even to store bought kimchi. lastly they didn't offer any of the neat vegetable side dishes (banchan) that are typically served with korean main dishes. if you want amazing korean food in regina, korea house is still the best. it's out of the way and the decor is very lacking, but they make darn good food.

much better than the firsttimei went which is about two years ago, when it first opened. back then, my one meal costed almost $20 with a lot of small dishes but the actual meal wasn't as good as i hoped but they changed. menu's smaller than i expected but it helps deciding. i had the bulgogi korean grill and i was expecting something like korea house where you grill it yourself but nope. grilled for you! it was $5.99 for the portion, i thought it wouldn't be enough even with rice but surprisingly it was the perfect amount! i was so full, and i had a free salad, ice cream and freezies! $10 under and i got so full, definitely didn't expect it.

good food and service. i had checked here for some info on what to expect or watch for on my first visit to lig. i think the management has been checking, too. attentive staff who greeted us right away, asked if it was our firsttimethere, and then clearly explained the menu.
we had the dinner buffet and were glad we did. $21.99 got us a good mix of authentic korean dishes, 8 bbq options, as well as the salad bar. we arrived a little after 6 on a saturday night and within the half hour the place was packed.
i'll definitely be back for more.

my new favorite restaurant. my hubby and i love this place! it's our new favorite. the concept and all of the dishes we had were so yummy. their customer service is excellent as well which will keep us coming back! i was pregnant at thetimeand the chef brought me a little extra dish and explained there were ingredients in it the were "good for baby"! on the house. so pleasant, so yummy, so going back!

good quality, poor quantity. the food is good. firsttimeordering there. was quick, building is verrry clean, and it's really a gorgeous place. but the quantity was less than impressive. got pick-up, back to office, sat down, and was very dissappointed with the portion of what was considered a 13 dollar "meal".

large container it comes in. too bad they only fill the bottom of the deep container with food.

shame. maybe i can pay extra for a normal/filling portion next time...

awsome. food was awsome, price was awsome $10 for a lunch that i couldnt finish there was so much. servers have hardtimeas they don't speak well english but was worth the server issues.

the worst experience in the city. i've never been so disappointed by a restaurant in regina. thetimefrom having our order placed to food received was roughly two hours. the owners were visibly bickering, the service was terrible, and the food, in the end, arrived cold. i would never pay to go to this restaurant again.

ok........... we went here around quarter after 6 for supper. very beautiful place, nicely finished, bathrooms are nice... got the menu, and needed clarification on how to order. after 10 minutes, someone came to our table to take our order, but they had to get someone else to come and explain the menu since there was a language barrier. we ordered the 6 course supper... $27 bucks a person. steamed egg came out right away.... waited........waited......waited.... 7:15 we got a salad... no appetizer that comes with the meal, which was odd... 2 couples that came after us were already served their egg, salad, and appetizer ahead of us. got our main dish, got served it, and when a lady came around to show us what to do, we were missing a whole other dish that thankfully she realized, because we had no idea, but it does make a difference with the meal, however, there were not enough lettuce leaves for the order. the food was good, some weird items that i couldn't stomache, but the meat was good. we finished eating, our drinks long empty with no refills or new orders for drinks, and no dessert which we were waiting on...... after half an hour, 8:15, we got sick of waiting. 2 hours in a restaurant where the majority of thetimewas spent waiting, and going thirsty. it's pretty bad when 3 tables that arrived after us, got served and we never...... thankfully, they took half off the bill, but still when you are trying to communicate that the service was poor and we were forgotten about, the only english speaking gentleman at the restaurant says "sorry" and walks away.......
