life is good korean bbq

tonight my boyfriend and i came here for dinner. this was our first time trying korean food. we asked the staff about getting onedishthat we saw here on their zomato page, however they no longer make that dish. we then asked what they would recommend, and ended up ordering the spicy chicken and the pork kimchi. the food was very hot when it came to the table- bubbling actually. we were excited to try the food. the spicy chicken was a little spicy, i wouldn’t say it was a spice level 3 like the menu states. the pork was good, but all i could taste was the kimchi. we aren’t sure if this is how the food was supposed to taste, as we have nothing to compare it to and it was not at all what i expected. we didn’t like the fact that the restaurant was empty, and when a couple came in they sat them right beside us. overall the restaurant is nice inside and the service is good.

have eaten here a couple of times and neither time was i wowed by it. the decor is amazing; very modern, and the bathroom was so spotless you could eat in it. the staff tries their best to talk to you about the food and make suggestions if you are unsure about anything. both times i went they offered free ice cream for dessert as well, which was nice. unfortunately that is about where the pros end. the atmosphere was ruined by someone in the back yelling repeatedly at the staff for not working hard enough. i get that it's an issue for them, but it should be handled in private and not in earshot of customers. the food (i had a kimchi stew the first time and a bibimbap the second time) was lacking in the flavor i am used to in authentic korean food. even the chili sauce tasted much more mild and flavorless than the gochujang i use at home to make my own bibimbap, which sadly knocks this place'sdishout of the park. furthermore, their kimchi seemed hardly flavored at all, and i asked for the spicy option. it was bland in comparison even to store bought kimchi. lastly they didn't offer any of the neat vegetable side dishes (banchan) that are typically served with korean main dishes. if you want amazing korean food in regina, korea house is still the best. it's out of the way and the decor is very lacking, but they make darn good food.

my new favorite restaurant. my hubby and i love this place! it's our new favorite. the concept and all of the dishes we had were so yummy. their customer service is excellent as well which will keep us coming back! i was pregnant at the time and the chef brought me a little extradishand explained there were ingredients in it the were "good for baby"! on the house. so pleasant, so yummy, so going back!

great restaurant!. in each of four visits, everydishi have tried has been excellent. the steamed egg appetizer is incredibly tasty. vegs are always fresh and crisp. salad dressing is light, delicate and delicious. during our last meal, we were treated to sesame leaves used as a wrap for rice, meat pieces, sauteed veggies. the chef(?), (owner ?) wrapped bits of food into the delicate and flawless leaves and popped the wraps into our mouths, displaying how to use the delicacy, and a touching courtesy simultaneously. what a taste sensation that was! the decor is clean, contemporary and immaculate, with a hot plate at each table. we thoroughly enjoy eating at lig korean bbq.

nice atmosphere but terrible food and large language barrier. there was 8 of us and the menu was confusing. no one explained how to order. the meal came with a soup that literally had prawn heads i it. i'm usually adventurous but was grossed out by my food staring at me. 1 person out of our 8 didn't mind the soup. i also ordered the egg roll appetizer which did not have a description so i assumed it was a typical deep fried egg roll but it is just an egg with carrot pieces in it- i should have known better on that one. my maindishwas the spicy chicken which i found to be rubbery and not spicy at all. i was also irritated by the 'dessert'. cinnamon tea is not a dessert by my standards. overall experience was interesting but i would not go here again.

beautiful, clean, great!. the place exceeded my expectations. it does not look like much from the outside but it is a beautiful, modern space inside. the place is hip, clean and the staff were terrific. they were extremely attentive and very pleasant. the level of cleanliness was impressive. the food was very good. i tried their noodledishwith beef as well as their ricedishserved in hot stone. i recommend that you ask for reduced spicyness so that you can fully appreciate all of the flavours. the food came with a steamed egg appetizer which was very interesting and tasty. the dessert is a cinammon drink that can be served either hot or iced; i prefer the iced version. food can either be ordered ala carte or as a fixed price full meal (the full meal is meat that you select and cook on hot stone on the table) with sidedishand appetizer that comes with it. generally, a very different concept for a restaurant. what makes it unique is the hip environment where the well prepared food is served. well done, owners and staff! keep up the good work, keep paying attention to detail and, if you continue like this,i will become a regular.

ok........... we went here around quarter after 6 for supper. very beautiful place, nicely finished, bathrooms are nice... got the menu, and needed clarification on how to order. after 10 minutes, someone came to our table to take our order, but they had to get someone else to come and explain the menu since there was a language barrier. we ordered the 6 course supper... $27 bucks a person. steamed egg came out right away.... waited........waited......waited.... 7:15 we got a salad... no appetizer that comes with the meal, which was odd... 2 couples that came after us were already served their egg, salad, and appetizer ahead of us. got our main dish, got served it, and when a lady came around to show us what to do, we were missing a whole otherdishthat thankfully she realized, because we had no idea, but it does make a difference with the meal, however, there were not enough lettuce leaves for the order. the food was good, some weird items that i couldn't stomache, but the meat was good. we finished eating, our drinks long empty with no refills or new orders for drinks, and no dessert which we were waiting on...... after half an hour, 8:15, we got sick of waiting. 2 hours in a restaurant where the majority of the time was spent waiting, and going thirsty. it's pretty bad when 3 tables that arrived after us, got served and we never...... thankfully, they took half off the bill, but still when you are trying to communicate that the service was poor and we were forgotten about, the only english speaking gentleman at the restaurant says "sorry" and walks away.......
