tonight my boyfriend and i came here for dinner. this was our first time tryingkoreanfood. we asked the staff about getting one dish that we saw here on their zomato page, however they no longer make that dish. we then asked what they would recommend, and ended up ordering the spicy chicken and the pork kimchi. the food was very hot when it came to the table- bubbling actually. we were excited to try the food. the spicy chicken was a little spicy, i wouldn’t say it was a spice level 3 like the menu states. the pork was good, but all i could taste was the kimchi. we aren’t sure if this is how the food was supposed to taste, as we have nothing to compare it to and it was not at all what i expected. we didn’t like the fact that the restaurant was empty, and when a couple came in they sat them right beside us. overall the restaurant is nice inside and the service is good.

have eaten here a couple of times and neither time was i wowed by it. the decor is amazing; very modern, and the bathroom was so spotless you could eat in it. the staff tries their best to talk to you about the food and make suggestions if you are unsure about anything. both times i went they offered free ice cream for dessert as well, which was nice. unfortunately that is about where the pros end. the atmosphere was ruined by someone in the back yelling repeatedly at the staff for not working hard enough. i get that it's an issue for them, but it should be handled in private and not in earshot of customers. the food (i had a kimchi stew the first time and a bibimbap the second time) was lacking in the flavor i am used to in authentickoreanfood. even the chili sauce tasted much more mild and flavorless than the gochujang i use at home to make my own bibimbap, which sadly knocks this place's dish out of the park. furthermore, their kimchi seemed hardly flavored at all, and i asked for the spicy option. it was bland in comparison even to store bought kimchi. lastly they didn't offer any of the neat vegetable side dishes (banchan) that are typically served withkoreanmain dishes. if you want amazingkoreanfood in regina, korea house is still the best. it's out of the way and the decor is very lacking, but they make darn good food.

i really love this place, call me bias if you want. i've been to somekoreanrestaurants and have eaten homemadekoreanfood before. i've been here twice and was never disappointed. the place is relaxing, colourful and clean. the ajumma who owned the place was very hospitable, polite and kind. she answers questions well if you are not very familiar withkoreanfood as when i brought my friend there for lunch one time. food is very healthy and delicious as they focus on not adding any msg to any of their food. packaging is very unique and i love how staff is very agreeable.

only been their for lunch and definitely recommend this place! when my friend and i first arrived, the whole place was empty so we were thought maybe it's not as good as we heard but we still gave it a try and glad we did cause it was so tasty!

there's not a lot of goodkoreanrestaurants in town, but this one is definitely a good one. the portion was good for what it costed. although we were the only ones there, i still enjoyed the atmosphere. my friend and i ordered the bibimbap and it was so delicious! highly recommend bibimbap for lunch!

will come back to see what's the evening menu like

much better than the first time i went which is about two years ago, when it first opened. back then, my one meal costed almost $20 with a lot of small dishes but the actual meal wasn't as good as i hoped but they changed. menu's smaller than i expected but it helps deciding. i had the bulgogikoreangrill and i was expecting something like korea house where you grill it yourself but nope. grilled for you! it was $5.99 for the portion, i thought it wouldn't be enough even with rice but surprisingly it was the perfect amount! i was so full, and i had a free salad, ice cream and freezies! $10 under and i got so full, definitely didn't expect it.

good food and service. i had checked here for some info on what to expect or watch for on my first visit to lig. i think the management has been checking, too. attentive staff who greeted us right away, asked if it was our first time there, and then clearly explained the menu.
we had the dinner buffet and were glad we did. $21.99 got us a good mix of authentickoreandishes, 8 bbq options, as well as the salad bar. we arrived a little after 6 on a saturday night and within the half hour the place was packed.
i'll definitely be back for more.

i tried akoreanbbq place in vancouver and i loved it so i was excited when i came to lig for lunch today. unfortunately this was the worst experience i have had eating out in regina. we were there for the buffet and it was 12:30 and there was hardly any food and the food that was there was awful. we are still talking about how disgusting our lunch was and i'm sure this conversation will continue for a while. i hope we just caught them on a bad day but there is no chance i will be back. hopefully others have better luck!

new buffet!. tried the friday night buffet and the selection was excellent. the ribs and meat cooked on thekoreancharcoal were so flavourful and the ribs were so tender. two soups, a salad bar, multiple choices of sweet or spicy meats and veggies, rice and noodles, great options for kids like chicken nuggets and dipping sauces, and the heavenly grilled meats. try thekoreanpunch with fruit....incredibly refreshing. no msg. going back for sure! the service was perfect....helpful, friendly and warm. we've become regulars.

very tasty food, good portions, reasonably priced lunch menu, friendly and helpful servers. when i expressed my fondness for the hot sauce, i was kindly given the gift of a small container to take home. we have become once a week lunch regulars. anxious to try the evening menu.

great restaurant!. in each of four visits, every dish i have tried has been excellent. the steamed egg appetizer is incredibly tasty. vegs are always fresh and crisp. salad dressing is light, delicate and delicious. during our last meal, we were treated to sesame leaves used as a wrap for rice, meat pieces, sauteed veggies. the chef(?), (owner ?) wrapped bits of food into the delicate and flawless leaves and popped the wraps into our mouths, displaying how to use the delicacy, and a touching courtesy simultaneously. what a taste sensation that was! the decor is clean, contemporary and immaculate, with a hot plate at each table. we thoroughly enjoy eating at ligkoreanbbq.

if you're not familiar with sam gyup sal skip it. it's not authentic, but the presentation is a nod tokoreanbbq style cooking. it was good enough for me and the staff was so nice. well, i tried a couple ofkoreanand mandarin words and i got that extra service!

very impressed. i created an account just to make this review. i've long used urbanspoon, but never felt the need to review something before. suffice to say, i was very impressed with lig. an authentickoreanexperience in regina, with good food in a very nice setting.

i went with my partner, my mom and my in-laws, and we all liked our meals. we each got the "multi-course" meal, and each got a different main dish. i tried all of them except one, and they were all at least good, with 2 of the 4 i tried being exceptionally so.

the mixed rice (korean name is bibimbap) was fantastic, with just the right amount of spiciness to it. everybody at the table who got it was raving about it. the salad was fairly simple mixed salad with a very nice dressing, which appeared to be home-made. i had never had kiwi dressing before and it was delicious. my main was the spicy pork on a hot rock which was fantastic. the dessert was a cinnamon drink that was very strong and tasty. the only thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the soup, but i am not known to like things with cabbage in them, so that was to be expected.

meal came out to $30.44 after tax for each one of us. the portions were very generous and i was more than full (and i can eat, lol). would recommend this place to anybody tired of "chain restaurants" and would like a unique dining experience in regina (which is a rare feat in this city). my partner and i were talking on the way home that this is a place we could take guests from out of town and it would be impressive. there are very few places in regina that you can "show off" to out of town guests, this place is one of them.

let's get straight to the point. this is the real deal - outstanding, authentickoreanon the southern prairies. we just had a fantastic lunch, and as i write this we are enjoying an after lunch bottle of chungha (think coldkoreansake).

we shared a bowl of kimchijigae, a hot and sour kimchi soup served boiling hot in a hot stone bowl. perfect flavour balance with delicious meaty pork ribs for the carnivore in all of us.

next, shared plates: bulgogi dopbap (marinated beef in soy, minced garlic and sesame seeds over noodles) and kimbop (seaweed roll with rice, veggies and pineapple - yes, pineapple; it works, trust us). both outstanding.

now, about all the service comments in previous reviews. the service here was first rate. friendly, timely, attentive. is there a bit of a language issue? yeah, but it's not insurmountable. and come on, folks, these people have been in canada less than a year. bottom line: their english is a damn sight better than your korean.

can't wait for our next visit. the dinner menu is calling out out names :)
