made a reservation for 7:30 and arrived on time. the hostess said the table was being cleaned. she gave us a buzzer and asked us to wait in the lounge. after sitting in the lounge for 15 minutes we went back to the hostess stand. she seemed startled and said "oh yeah i was just about to page you" she then asked us" do you still want the table?"we said yes so she grabbed menus and said"let me make sure your table is ready" so we waited for her to return. we followed her to our table. so after finally getting past the horrible hostess we sit at or table waiting for the waiter. we waited for quite awhile for the waiter. he was talking to the people at the table next to us. he just kept talking. finally he came over just to say "i'll be right with you" so we waited more. we had enough time to decided on a starter, our main course with sides, and which dessert. we didn't even have water yet! we got up and left. we were celebrating our anniversary and did not feel like paying a large fee to be treated like crap and ignored. we went to texas roadhouse and spent less than what we were planning on, had a lot more fun, and much better service. i do not plan on attempting to eat here ever again.

food's amazing. the food was really amazing. i had a filet that was cooked to perfection. the truffle mashed potato was a perfect accompaniment. our table also shared a order of lobster mac and cheese also really good. i had no complaint about the food or the kitchen. food was out quickly and all of it was hot, juicy and tasty. my only criticism was the waiters inability to listen and put in the order correctly. i had ordered the filet with crab legs and instead was brought filet oscar. right ingrediance, wrong presentation. also ordered garlic mushrooms to go with meal, was brought stuffed mushrooms (a starter plate). during meal i asked the waiter for a wine list, never saw it. i will say they ended up buying two desserts for us but somewhat frustrating service experience. regarding the negative reviews of the food, i have eaten at many 4 and 5 star restaurants and this food is on par with those restaurants. the negative food reviews ring like a ex-employee with sour grapes. this food was high quality and full of flavor.

still not good. this is my second review and the place still hasn't improved. my family and i made brunch reservations for 11:00. we ordered by 11:30. our food didn't arrive until 1:15!!!!!!!!! it took almost two hours!!!! we complained repeatedly and all we got was the excuse that the kitchen was "slammed" but everybody around us was getting their food quickly. i realize that every restaurant can make mistakes but the kitchen is slooooooow - consistently. our server was busy and frustrated - i don't blame him. my ribeye steak was nice and tasty, but everybody else didn't finish their meals because the food was either cold or rubbery.

yuck. i've been forced to eat here a couple of times because some people i know like to "be seen" since this is a fancy, junior league kind of place. my husband and i have never ordered anything that we were happy with and the food is totally overpriced. service is sloooooooow. i didn't like it when it was named firewater cafe and i still don't like it now. their parent restaurant harrigan's is so much better.

wine. the portions for a nice glass of wine is very poor. very expensive! service good!!!!

fell short. for the type of people that this restaurant is supposed to cater to e.g. doctors, lawyers and that sort, the food isn't that great. at best i can say the food is slightly above average. we ordered an appetizer, two main course dishes, and a dessert. all of which were abysmal given the cost to satisfaction. i left the restaurant wanting something, anything that had some flavor.

great service!!!!. i am a stickler when it comes to customer service. this place is awesome! food was very tasty and the atmosphere was superb. a little pricey but i like the fact that because of it, it kept the clientele to a little higher standard. i did not see people wearing shorts, sandals, sun dresses, tank-tops, etc.. bravo las brisas!!!

frustrating. used to be much much better.

birthday disappointment. had lobster. rubber. over cooked. they killed that poor creature. my husband had the steak. it was rubbery as well. we won't return

hmm..not sure.. very nice atmosphere. i ordered the brochette, the tenderloin medallions were really good. however, i requested the vegetable risotto the one i got was the spicy risotto, it was over seasoned and not palatable. the bacon wrapped shrimp that came with appetizer were good, however they were seasoned differently in the brochette and bacon were not cooked. i would go back again..but i would stick to a steak.

not so great. we visited lb on our last frip to lubbock. we love to try new steakhouses each time we visit a city, so my hubby and i were excited about this place. waiter was really nice up front- chatted with us and gave us some ideas on other restaurants during our stay. food arrived timely, but steak was tough. waiter seemed a bit put off that we complained, but i ordered mine med, and was more med-well to well. didnt take it off of our bill, either.

a part of my life. this restaurant was the first decent restaurant my wife and i found in lubbock. we had our engagement dinner there, our rehersal dinner there, we went there for our second anniversary and we have had lunch or dinner there every time i have come back to lubbock. the food is consistantly good and the atmosphere is great. i'll keep going back as long as their around.

in bone ribeye. i think the steak was ok but nothing like mortons or ruth chris ,. the streak is not aged . the price is high and not really worth what you pay .. i have been a round the world and no one in lubbock will do a good aged steak place .. i think that the service starts to hurt brcause the lack of staff. i think it is over priced and there cooks need to slow down and make my steak right.

reading these reviews is amusing. it is either the best, or the worst ever. the staff is the best i have ever been part of. very professional and attentive. of course, there are some weak links. but overall, the best hands-down. along with the steaks, ribs, seabass, and jalapeños. come judge for yourself;)

i know alot of these bad reviews have been written by former employees who are simply speaking ill. this is by far the best restaurant in town! i have worked at 14 restaurants in my life, corporate and non. this one cares the most about it's guests, employees, and our owner is always improving the menu and property. come see what all the fuss is about! visit our amazing patio and have a black angus prime cut of the best steak in texas!

i am a regular here and love the staff! they are great! the food however has been on the decline. the steaks aren't what they used to be? maybe i need to fund a new favorite restaurant

go eat here right now. we would like to think of ourselves as regulars here and try and eat here at least every couple of weeks. it was always good but the past couple times we have been it seems to have gotten better. the specials have gotten better and the feel of the place just seems to be better. i guess the new management has their heads on straight because it is definitely showing in everything they are doing.
