mikey liked it. ate at las brisas on tech parent's weekend 2013, with wife and son. all were pleased with the food and service quality. i'm no yokel, having traveled throughout europe, uk, and far east. my experience was totally inconsistent with these review rip-jobs. suspect something else is going on here...

if you like feeling let down, have low expectations, and you don't know a good steak from a bad one... i recommend las brisas!!

just left the brunch. ordered the prime rib steak that was supposed to come with vegetables and choice potatoes and was given a prime rib sandwich with sweet potato fries... let down to say the least. that's when i noticed the lipstick on my glass.. also my wife's filet was very tough. tasted and chewed like a sirloin.

service was mediocre and that's being generous.

don't waste your money here. if you do, i hope they treat you better than we were.

i went here for my college graduation and there were a lot of people in my group so i was expecting poor service...boy was i wrong!!! every steak at our table was cooked perfectly, which rarely happens at the other steakhouses in lubbock. we ordered the appetizer sampler, lobster mac & cheese, baked potatoes, and creamed spinach. all of which were stellar and delicious. the lobster mac & cheese and creamed spinach sent me straight to heaven. the sides portions were huge and we got to take home a ton of leftovers. the wine list was impressive as well. i dont understand why there are so many negative reviews on here and i cant wait to go back to las brisas for my anniversary in a couple of weeks. loved every single thing about this place.

i enjoyed the red wagyu ribeye. the service was pleasant and the portions were generous. compared to chicago chophouses this place is moderately priced but the smoker friendly patio added an extra layer of comfort. if you think 20 dollars is an expensive steak go to golden corral.

i cannot understand people's obsession with this overpriced poor excuse for fine cuisine restaurant. i like a fool keep trying this place, last night marks my fourth try. how hard is it to cook rice? my risotto was crunchy and my salmon was undercooked. the waitstaff is helpful and friendly. i won't be going back if i have a say in it. maybe people go here so they can flaunt their money to each other and prove to the world that they can afford to pay for mediocre food. it's laughable to me, maybe the citizens of lubbock should get out more and learn what good food is.

the steaks, atmosphere, and service is great. try the stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer, some of the best i have ever had.

lipstick on a pig.... when lb first opened, they were primarily just a mexican food restaurant. i was ok with that for a bit, they weren't trying to pretend to be something else. then i got food poisoning from their chili relleno's, bleh thank lb, now i can't eat them again! then they made the big switch to being a "high class" steak house, too bad they forgot the high class part, and the good steaks part....all they changed was their prices. it's one thing to add a little spice or a little upscale to your menu, but stop trying to be something your not. this place is a joke, and i have no desire to drive 10 miles out of my way for an over priced, poor service steak house. if you want good mexican food you can go somewhere else, if you want a good steak you can go somewhere else, if you want good service you can go somewhere else... easily 2/10

buttery but scrumptious steaks. good sides, competent service staff, but the lobster was overlooked and awful.

good times. we went on a saturday night. very crowded, but they got us in - next time we'll make a reservation. the server was polite and antentive. the menu is pricey (but i wouldn't say overpriced), and from the reviews on this site i'm going to say they may have changed the prices recently. steaks come with one side, which is one side more than you'd get at pappas or any of the other big steak houses, and are less expensive than at these places. i'd say the quality is on par. i had a filet. it was cooked perfectly with a nice char on top - a rarity in lubbock. a friend had the bone-in ribeye - the biggest i've ever seen. my wife had the sea bass - cooked perfectly and actually a nice sized portion (and fresh, as opposed to frozen, i might add) - both, once again, rarities for lubbock. salads were good. we all had house salads, and there was some flair to them as opposed to the same mundane brown lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, and tomatoes you typically get in the area. the wine selection makes you feel like your in a big city (500 selections, maybe - all quality). overall, a very nice experience. i've eaten here in the past, but it's been a while. this visit seemed better than i remember it being. looks like this place is on the up-and-up. be prepared to drop a pretty penny, but it won't disappoint.

new owners result in bad food. every since this restaurant (which used to be one of my faves) was taken over by the guys that own buffalo wild wings it has just gone down hill fast. my wife and i come here for special occassions and have always enjoyed ourselves. my favorite is the bone in ribeye. it's usually huge, juicy and seasoned well. the last time we visited it was none of the above...except still huge. after waiting over 30 minutes (with not much service - empty glasses and couldn't get a second glass of wine to save our lives - our food came. i ordered my ribeye mr and peppered. it came out almost well done and not peppered and very dry. had to send it back. also, the asparagus were hard, not really sauteed. it was like they forgot to make them and sent them out almost raw. my wife had the pork chop, again, dry and underseasoned. she ate it anyway. at this time we still have not received our second glasses of wine. after my ribeye came back (almost cooked correctly) we ate and left. never getting our wine and not ordering dessert (which we always order bananas foster). so dissapointed. i guess this is what happens when some guys that run a chain wing joint try to go into the business of fine dining.

mediocre. great food, when compared to an applebee's. las brisas wants to be a premium steak house, but is falling short. service staff is not trained to be premium servers, hostess is more or less ambivalent. why does everything have to come with asparagus and if you want something else, it costs more?

meh. las brisas is not as good as it used to be. i just went for the first time in about one year and everything was different. the service was great but that was the only good thing. the steak was bland and too chewy. the asparagus also had very little flavor. they charge $2 to substitute for a different side, which is ridiculous. they used to give two sides but now they just give you one. even the tea tasted different! i always thought they had really great black tea but now it just tastes like bland lipton. this would all be fine except that the bill was $100 for two people and we didn't get any alcohol. i will not be going back.

this place has gone slightly downhill. they used to be great at pleasing the customer and making sure their steaks were cooked perfectly and the food was hot. we got the stuffed avocado and the middle was cold. first they gave us a new one...and it was cold, too. then they said well it is supposed to be cold on the inside. even though they brought us a new one because at first they said it was supposed to be hot all the way through. make up your mind. the waiters are a little snobby because they don't try to go out of their way to please the customer.

prices are outrageous for a steak that is not up par (dry, no flavor, seemed un-seasoned), especially for how highly i've heard of this resturaunt. i could have made a better steak at home on my own. will not be returning.
