las brisas

this was my third trip to las brisas. i have friends that rave about it but i have found the food and service to be above average for lubbock, but not reflective of the prices or on par with recognized chop houses.

i have had the kurobuta pork chop in the past and while a large portion and cooked well, i have had equally good pork for far less.

this trip was my first to try one of their steaks. i had the 8oz raspberry filet. while it was cooked to order and seasoned well it was rather tough and stringy. not a $40 cut of meat by any means. my worst filet at a ruths chris beat this hands down.

service was ok. not overly attentive. the wait staff have at least received training and didn't act like they were hired earlier that day like one finds in mostlubbockestablishments.

my overall impression is it is pretentious and priced well beyond its performance. for lubbock, it seems to fill a niche as a place the trendies can go to brag that they spent over $100 for an above average, but not stellar meal. i will probably give it a pass in the future.

its few redeeming features are the well stocked bar and the smoking patio where you can enjoy an after dinner cigar and drink. a rapidly disappearing feature in lubbock.

i cannot understand people's obsession with this overpriced poor excuse for fine cuisine restaurant. i like a fool keep trying this place, last night marks my fourth try. how hard is it to cook rice? my risotto was crunchy and my salmon was undercooked. the waitstaff is helpful and friendly. i won't be going back if i have a say in it. maybe people go here so they can flaunt their money to each other and prove to the world that they can afford to pay for mediocre food. it's laughable to me, maybe the citizens oflubbockshould get out more and learn what good food is.

in bone ribeye. i think the steak was ok but nothing like mortons or ruth chris ,. the streak is not aged . the price is high and not really worth what you pay .. i have been a round the world and no one inlubbockwill do a good aged steak place .. i think that the service starts to hurt brcause the lack of staff. i think it is over priced and there cooks need to slow down and make my steak right.

rip-off. the service was terrible; the wait staff is not trained or supervised. the medium filet steak i ordered was cold and raw in the center, it took 20 minutes to get another steak and by then my baked potato was cold. this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant with very high prices to match but falls far short. they have a "cook" and definitely not a "chief". a total waste of money, there are several good restaurants inlubbockthat have owner involvement, this is not one of them. their manager does not have a clue what an upscale restaurant is.

great steaks!. this place is the best you will find for a classy atmosphere and great food. my boyfriend and i go every valentine's day. it is well worth the wait. the staff is always friendly and personable. a great place for a nice party/ wedding reception. table side dessert is fun and delicious. i always get the filet mignon and i am always pleased. for those of you who thought the steak was dry or tough i recommend not ordering your steak well done. in my opinion, if you order steak well, you are deserving of what you get. learn how to eat a steak appropriately. this place is the best inlubbockand a breath of fresh air in this culture-less and class-less hell hole.

best food inlubbockby far!!! don't know where the "don't likes" come from. everytime i eat at las brisas it is outstanding!

anyone who hasn't tried las brisas needs to get there! i have eaten around the country at the best of them: nine in vegas, gibsons, peter lugars, mortons...and others and las brisas is right there if not better. steak like that inlubbockis a lottery win! i saw some negative reviews just like any place but not one i found to be true, (chef said there isn't even a pinch of pepper on the salmon!) service was top notch, food was out of this world and our group was treated like vips with handshakes and attention. if you love wine quit looking and go to las brisas. whoever voted "doesn't like it" must not have eaten here or can't compete with them! las brisas is a remarkable steakhouse!

i didn't understand. the hype surrounding this place. the staff was very mediocre and the steak was horrible. my ribeye had zero flavor whatsoever. not even salt or pepper.

it was like they fried it in butter or something. nasty. way overpriced and there are a lot better steaks inlubbockthan here.

butter butter butter butter...i love it!. a 16 oz ribeye cooked medium rare and served on a hot plate which is overflowing with butter...two words!!! chesse n rice...amazing, best steak ive had inlubbockby far...i always take my dates here to make them feel special and so they can make me feel special afterwards...great place good food m entertainment on the weekends...but yes las brisas is the titz!

best steak inlubbock! you can cut the steak with a fork ! absolutely amazing!!!
