terrible customer service. the staff at la buvette need serious attitude adjustments and customer service training. when i called to see if they take reservations the woman who answered the phone said no and then proceeded to be curt, short and impatient answering even a single follow up question. then when i asked about the restaurant she told me to "go online." then when i said i had done that but still had questions, she said "well i don't know what to tell you" and then hung up.

wow, now i know where not to spend money, take corporate clients or make referrals!

don't rush. slow service...but it works. enjoy a glass of wine. the food is amazing. really something unique and delicious.

decent food but lousy service. should have read the reviews re' quality of service before dining. rude staff and slow service. food was good but not did not outweigh the overall negative experience.

feeling like smug and parisian we say for our first visit to la buvette. it's been on my list for a while and we wanted to sit outside to enjoy the wonderful weather today. the covered walkways of ye olde market made for a delightful, lazy, mid-afternoon lunch/snack. service was good when around. we asked for two glasses of dry red wine; the server on initiative brought out two different glasses so if one of us didn't like one, we could have the other which we felt was very thoughtful. i had beef tongue over mashed potatoes with caramelized onions and my guest had a cheese plate of cheddar, triple cream brie and another cheese all to our satisfaction. somehow the beef tongue was surprising, but still a texture i would expect of a tongue. the dishes came with bread baked daily. not bad. glad we went.

no other place like this. there is no other place like buvette in omaha. truly a gem... service can suck, be polite, be prepared to wait for service, but food and atmosphere compensate for all the flaws... sit back, relax and pretend you're a part of the bourgeoisie

worst experience i have had at a resturant. the service was very long the wait staff was rude and i observed people walking out with beer not concled ... i
will not be back even if this establishment is a party of the old market . i have many friends that have business in the old market and would not let there staff be disrespectful . and to top it off i told the two servers how i felt and they were rude to another level . sham on them . i hope the owners see this review because i don't believe this is how things or people are treated when they are there.

today i went for lunch at this place that use to my favorite place in downtown because i am european -american and i enjoyed the european vibe.
not after what happened here today.
the waitress broke my $270 pair of sunglasses taking the menu off the table. she asked the manager to talk to me and apart of being very rude to me, he called me names like crazy and nuts. he is the gm - mr. darech gaskill. i had a witness at my table that can confirm that i was only polite asking him how can he make this right. i would like to ask mr. darech gaskill: did you treat me that poor and without professionalism just because, or this is the way you know how to run your business?

this is one of my all-time favorite places. in the summer, you will find me sitting on the patio enjoying some fresh bread and coffee. the service was good, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food of course, is delicious.

so on a whim i decided to get my hair cut while i was in omaha. i was asking about restaurants and this one was recommended as a place i could go sit and relax for lunch. it was amazing. the waiter was helpful with my wine selection, the hummus platter was a perfect lunch (also a suggestion from laura at curb appeal). small, cozy, intimate, and great food. a definite must in omaha.

went here for dinner while in town on business, just wandered in from the old market area. this place was delightful... with little pretense, a simple menu, and casual atmosphere.

i really enjoyed this place.... a lot. they have a simple, more european fare. bread and butter plate, wine, cheese and meat plates. don't come here if your in the mood for dennys or applebees. do come here to chat, nosh, and savor the flavors.

i've been coming here for years. it nice simple french fare at reasonable prices. local honest food. the front seems to be a wine shop and bar. there's a cook behind the bar with a small oven and limited space. you only realize after going down to the restroom that there is a full kitchen down stairs that they pre prep the food in during the day.

i visited la buvette for lunch and had a great experiece. the waiter was attentive but not hovering. i enjoyed their borscht, which was fresh and warm, and their la buvette salad, which also was fresh and perfectly lightly dressed. the breads served alongside were very good and a dry rose wine on the menu was a perfect accomapnimnet. along with the bistro is a deli that has a great selection of cheese, meats and wines.

every time i go here, i feel at home. the atmosphere is wonderful, the wine selection is great, and the food always delivers. this time i had braised lentils with garlic sausage; it was simple and yummy!!
