we kept hearing about this place from a lot of people like our tour guide, security wala, hotel staff, auto wala so we decided we should head and there and check it out for ourselves. hailing from chennai the only place we have had good dal bati was from a restaurant called rajdhani hence we had little to no expectation on how good/different this could be. but guys when we had the first bite of the dal bati we were absolutely lost as it was so different to what we had back home. the churma here was the cherry on the cake :)

do not miss this place !

we had categorically come here because of the reviews we had read. unfortunately, one of the most obnoxious and rude places i have ever been to. they refused to give the smaller than despite requesting them that i won't be able to eat and the whole food will go waste.
when we shared it with the owner/ person at the reception that this is quite sad and is not the way to treat customer. the person was extremely, impolite, brash, rude and loud. he refused to listen to the request and said that this is how it it is take it or leave it.
we did mention that we have come here to experience the food we have heard so much about and and this whole experience is not a great thing to experience. however, the person was just too obnoxious to listen.
being in udaipur from the past few days this experience has been the worst and just extremely disappointing.
a little bit of courteousness would have been great.
i wouldn't advise this restaurant.
the service and staff behavior was extremely poor. if i had the chance to give a rating below one i would have.

the amazing dal bati thali!!

we were looking for genuine and authentic dal bati churma place when we visited udaipur. and this restaurants name popped up in lot of places. and it's worth it.

it's a simple restaurant located on first floor, difficult to locate, better to ask locals only. it has normal ambiance and serves only one menu; dal bati churma thali.

the thali is amazing, delicious and served hot and fresh. it has freshly prepared baati crushed by staff served with lots of ghee on it. gatte ki sabji along with another sabji, salad, dal, 2-3 types of magnificent chutneys, papad and buttermilk. all unlimited.

when we visited, we had discussion with the owner on how they prepare the bati and how it is authentic and distinguishs from others. staff and owner were very polite and respectful.

overall: must visit place in udaipur for authentic rajasthani dal baati.

the only reason for one star is coz they have ac, it's in some kopcha and is clean but anyone who's ever had good baati before pls don't don't go. they are famous coz they have autowalo se commission fixed so each autowala will recommend the best place to eat.. nonetheless the food is extremely average. u get much better baati at bhagattarachand.

best dal batti in udaipur.
it's not easy to find it on map because of the wrong listing but it's better to call at restaurant and get directions.

worth 200 but not 250.

i wish if you could add something more in your menu within the thaali or slash down the prices.

note- this place is always full so you need to wait atleast for 30mins to get a seat.

but it's worth it

unlike restaurants in jaipur/jodhpur - who serve a full blown rajastani thali which leaves you a bit too heavy, these guys focus exclusively on their signature dish - dal baati churma. and they serve unlimited quantities of it. they churma is especially pretty amazing.

but the menu is pretty limited - gatte ka sabzi, dal, salad, 2-3 chutneys, rice and another sabzi, some butter milk. the rates are also a bit lower considering the limited spread. but still, worth the visit.

very shady looking place in a dark and dingy corner. not recommended for small groups at night. have eaten much better daal baati than this. not worth the trip and hype of 4.9 rating.

nice restaurant, tasty food
serves unlimited thali having dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, chaach and multiple types of chutneys.
don't expect much from ambience but if you want to try dal baati, you must visit this restaurant.

this place was suggested by the locals from city of udaipur. it’s a small place serving single menu of unlimited vegetarian rajasthani thali. the thali was certainly super delicious and i gulped buttermilk for like 3 times. the ambiance is ordinary and staff is highly courteous. the staff wore gloves while serving , as they crush bati onto the thali. this is place is meant to serve delicious food.

4.8 stars on zomato...are u kidding me?. bad interiors, i mean it just feels like you are sitting in someones dining room. staff is sad. plz believe me when i say this but they dont know how to make bati. gatte ki sabzi was smelling like stale. and they charge 250rs for this.huh. its not worth more than 100rs. plz visit any thele wala in udaipur they serve better. this place will shut down soon, when on sunday 9pm only 3 tables are occupied out of 10 what do u expect. plz dont waste money here.
