a must visit place hidden in bylane of udaipur. just ask ola or auto to take u to krishna dal bati and u will b there in no time. it's like a eating in some ones house . they make the bati fresh . serve 2 tables at a time , hence expect some delay if more tables r occupied. we waited for 59 minutes before we were served, but we're finished in 10 minutes from when they served us :d. super heavy stuff , lots of ghee , amazing churma and to die for gatte ki sabzee .. mix all of 'em together incl the chutneys and u will be licking ur fingers in no time. at the price, it's super authentic dalbaatiexperience u will have.

this is such an overpriced and overhyped place. if you are looking for an authentic or even an ordinary dalbaatiin udaipur, this is not a place. who wants to waste 350 rupees for two baatis? dal is the worst i have ever eaten.

taste: 5.5/5 just amazing. they just serve this unlimited daalbaatithaali that consists of daal-baati (ofcourse) churma, gatte ri sabzi (curry made of spiced curd with spiced gram flour dumplings), one more veggie, garlic chilli chutney, coriander mint chilli chutney and buttermilk.

word of caution: if you are not a regular dalbaatieater, please don't have another serving ofbaati(after the first one they serve). it won't seem like, butbaatiis really heavy to digest and if you are traveling like us, it would get uncomfortable.

ambience: 3.5/5 nice small little place. when you reach you may find the area a bit calm and closed, but actually everyone's busy upstairs eating the daal baati.

this place serves the best dalbaatichoorma that money can buy in india.

has visited them 6 years ago in 2015 and visited them again today. the taste, consistency, oodles of ghee overbaatihave all remained the same. the owners of the place are gem to talk you and service is exceptional. before anything gets over on your plate, a server magically appears with the right condiments to refill 👍.

a perfect “padhaaro mhare des” experience in udaipur. outstanding food.

our review: 4 / 5:

what chole bhature is to punjab, dalbaatichurma is to rajasthan. a quintessential rajasthani dish, this three-in-one treat (bakedbaatiwith spicy panchmel dal and sweet crumbly churma) is revered as much for its simplicity as for its delicious taste. while this culinary gem is famed for its wonderful taste, the fascinating story behind its origin is virtually unknown.

baati (little doughballs made of wheat flour, ghee and milk) is believed to have originated during the time of bappa rawal – the founder of the kingdom of mewar. back then, the rajputs were establishing their stronghold in the region andbaatiwas their preferred war time meal.

the krishna dal bati restro is one of well known local restaurant in udaipur for rajasthani authentic food. the special taste of dal bati and churma makes it more remembering and famous food among the rajasthan,s people. they provide only dal bati and churma with pure ghee which makes them standout from others. krishna dal bati restro is simply subtle, innovating and inspiring in every way.

best daal bati i ever had! i have tried daal bati several times and this place is best(very softbaatifrom inside didn't feel dry, easily absorbed by daal)
churma is also good! here you get unlimited thali only which consists daal bati, churma, cucumber, govind gatta, rice and butter milk!
totally infant friendly because you can feed him daal rice or ghee rice! cleanliness was good.

after a lot of research and a strong recommendation from many locals i went ahead with krishna for satisfying my cravings for rajasthani daalbaatichurma.
and boy oh boy, the decision to come here was dead correct. they serve only one dish which is the daalbaatichurma thali and it was heavenly.
no amount of words i write here can actually express the emotions i went through after having my first bite, you have to come here and see it for yourself. the daal served here is not tur daal which you normally eat withbaatior baafla instead what you get is a mix daal along with another famous rajasthani dish, gatte ki sabzi which was also very tasty and very unique which i had never tried before.
and coming to churma, it had just the right amount of sweetness added to it and i came to know that they use jaggery to sweeten it instead of white sugar which is great health wise and also it had sesame seeds which brought a nice little crunch to it.
overall, i was a very happy soul after finishing my meal here and if ever i come to udaipur again, i am definitely coming here.

people of rajasthan specialize in serving sweet and savory dishes in combinations that steal the heart and delight the taste buds.

a platter of sweet churma, spicy dal and baati  is one such traditional combination.

while our visit to udaipur, we wanted to eat authentic rajasthani dal baati. so after googling and asking couple of local people we visited @krishnadalbatirestro.they serve "dalbaatithali".

spicy dal, crushed baked bati topped with desi ghee,
gatte ki sabji, sweet crumbled churma accompanied with salad, shimla mirch ka achaar, chhach, green chutney, garlic chutney. phew!
garlic chutney was icing on the cake.
worth trying 🤟

the amazing dal bati thali!!

we were looking for genuine and authentic dal bati churma place when we visited udaipur. and this restaurants name popped up in lot of places. and it's worth it.

it's a simple restaurant located on first floor, difficult to locate, better to ask locals only. it has normal ambiance and serves only one menu; dal bati churma thali.

the thali is amazing, delicious and served hot and fresh. it has freshly preparedbaaticrushed by staff served with lots of ghee on it. gatte ki sabji along with another sabji, salad, dal, 2-3 types of magnificent chutneys, papad and buttermilk. all unlimited.

when we visited, we had discussion with the owner on how they prepare the bati and how it is authentic and distinguishs from others. staff and owner were very polite and respectful.

overall: must visit place in udaipur for authentic rajasthani dal baati.
