the service usually sucks. the food is mediocre. the beer selection sucks. the value and atmosphere is just ok. the menu is weird in that i don't know what kind of restaurant serves both sushi and flatbread. i don't know why this place is so popular because blue is leaps and bounds better than this place. no real reason to go here.

sushi has really gone downhill and the mixed drinks were watered down and overpriced.

over-priced and poor service. every time i've been here, i have had extremely poor service. they have a great patio and it's a fun place to go for happy hour, but if you order anything but happy hour, the food and drinks are extremely over-priced for the quality and quantity. 2 avocado eggrolls for $10?! the sushi is also terrible. it shouldn't even be called sushi. it falls apart when you pick it up and has an off taste to it. the last time i was here it took 10 minutes just to get someone to come wipe down our table, because obviously our server thought he was "too good" to do it himself.

something for everyone. this place has something for everyone. it is far from just a sushi restaurant. although they do have a large selection of sushi, this restaurant also has more variety than almost any restaurant i've been to. this place has a very personable service staff, and an amazing atmosphere, no matter if you're looking for the bar scene or a nice romantic restaurant. also, they have an amazing happy hour which is available twice a day, six days a week. their most expensive appetizer on their happy hour menu is $5, and many of their appetizers are only $3. it is no wonder that this place was voted best happy hour in the "best of omaha" for the 4th year in a row. it is definitely worth your time to check this place out.

literally the worst bartending service i've received in town. bartenders drinking their own drinks playing with one another while people sit around waiting to even get a menu. 10 minutes to finally get a drink after ordering. just the worst.

the food here was good. sushi was average to good. i enjoyed the chicken and fish entrees. i have nothing negative to say besides the service being a little slow. if your going out to relax and enjoy dinner then you shouldn't even notice. our waitress was nice and the atmosphere was a good mix of relaxing, family friendly and fun. the bar area keeps the fun going and their open air option in nice weather is great!

love kona grill. just here this past weekend. had a great meal. been awhile. had some saki that was great also. the best restaurant in village point. sushi is good. the best choice on the menu might be the sushi sampler. main dishes like the macadamia chicken is a good choice and the pad thai noodles are great too. never had a bad meal here.

i ate here a few times back in 2005 or so. then i went a while without eating here and i recently stopped back in for dinner. i seem to remember it being better than it is now. perhaps its glory days are behind it.

food was decent. i tried their hawaiian ribeye which is listed on their menu as a signature (or favorite or whatever) item. it had a terrific flavor, but the meat itself was a bit chewy and, although ribeyes are typically heavily marbled, rather fatty. my wife sampled a couple of their kona rolls from their sushi menu and was pleased with them. the food here has always been good. it's sort of an asian fusion kind of thing and they have several items that put an asian spin of what are typically american favorites.

service was not good. i couldn't tell if was because they were understaffed (seemed to be a lot of employees moving around) or if the staff they had were just that bad. several tables around us (with different waitpersons) were experience service delays too.

ambiance is off. i suppose it makes for a decent bar and happy hour experience, but for dinner it's just noisy and crowded and in a mostly bad sort of way.

at this price point i expect it to be better. they serve good food, but service could be greatly improved. it's a borderline "like" for me.

sunday at kona. my wife and i recently stopped in for lunch at kona grill. overall, it was a great experience. the chicken caprese sandwich was my wife's selection for her midday meal. other than the basil pesto aioli being a bit runny, she rated it highly. my basil pesto linguine had andouille sausage listed as an ingredient on the menu. while there was no trace of andouille sausage whatsoever, the dish was so incredibly tasty i left well enough alone (for this initial visit). this entree was garnished with a few grape tomatoes split lengthwise with some sort of seasoning on them. i could have easily eaten an entire bowl of them as a meal! i got the sense of some "newness" from our server larissa. not only was the andouille sausage missing from my meal (which a more experienced team member would have noticed) there was a minor mix up on the dessert order. to her credit, she had extremely good people skills and a very pleasant demeanor that will probably have me requesting her on our next visit. larissa knew how to keep a watchful eye on her tables without hovering or doting -- a much sought after skill by restaurateurs. mouth-watering food, good presentation and service. al b back will be back!

so-so. had several of the appetizers and all were pretty good. was with a large party and i am not a sushi fan. my hubby and i both ordered the filet, which was pretty pricy for a non steak house. i ordered mine medium, and it was well done when it cameout. hubby ordered med rare and it came out medium well. a pretty expensive mistake for the cooks to make. i was able to eat hubbys since it was close to what i wanted. he had to wait another 15 mins to get his. eveyone in the large group was about finished eating when his new steak came out. i realize mistakes happen. but to a $30+ piece of meat?? neither of the steaks had any seasoning and were quite bland. again i realize they arent known for their steak, but if you are going to charge that much for the cut, deliver a perfectly seasoned and cooked pice of meat.

wow.... sushi was abominable. majority of fish in rolls was straight from a can, service was terrible (including management), and gyoza were slimy with bland sauce. ordered happy hour bottle of sake, which was advertised at 375 ml, got a bottle half the size. told the manager who explained that it is what they have always given customers, and that we were the first to notice (because false advertising is okay as long as no one complains!). overall the worst sushi i have experienced in an omaha restaurant, closer to day-old supermarket than true maki; go elsewhere.
