the service usually sucks. the food is mediocre. the beer selection sucks. the value and atmosphere is just ok. the menu is weird in that i don't know what kind of restaurant serves both sushi and flatbread. i don't know why thisplaceis so popular because blue is leaps and bounds better than this place. no real reason to go here.

over-priced and poor service. every time i've been here, i have had extremely poor service. they have a great patio and it's a funplaceto go for happy hour, but if you order anything but happy hour, the food and drinks are extremely over-priced for the quality and quantity. 2 avocado eggrolls for $10?! the sushi is also terrible. it shouldn't even be called sushi. it falls apart when you pick it up and has an off taste to it. the last time i was here it took 10 minutes just to get someone to come wipe down our table, because obviously our server thought he was "too good" to do it himself.

something for everyone. thisplacehas something for everyone. it is far from just a sushi restaurant. although they do have a large selection of sushi, this restaurant also has more variety than almost any restaurant i've been to. thisplacehas a very personable service staff, and an amazing atmosphere, no matter if you're looking for the bar scene or a nice romantic restaurant. also, they have an amazing happy hour which is available twice a day, six days a week. their most expensive appetizer on their happy hour menu is $5, and many of their appetizers are only $3. it is no wonder that thisplacewas voted best happy hour in the "best of omaha" for the 4th year in a row. it is definitely worth your time to check thisplaceout.

been here with my family one of the bestplacethat i visited in omaha, i ordered sushi and drink both are great and last ambience is great no doubt about it.

they want to be known for sensational flavors in their modern american cuisine from a scratch kitchen. but kona is also known for their huge sushi and sashimi menu from traditional rolls to kona rolls. when you arrive you are greeted at the hostess area, then around the corner is the bar area. it is a big center bar lined with stools, televisions, tables but many people want to sit on the backside which is an indoor patio that also has televisions. the patio area is indoor but the huge windows open up, which is popularplaceto hang out and have a few cocktails like a sake bomb. the bar area has an awesome happy hour that gets crazy busy…if you're not there by 4 p.m. on friday is it very hard to find a table. the night we were there t

mediocre at best. we tried thisplaceon the recommendation of a dear friend. when you walk in, you get the sour smell of old beer. we sat in the bar section because the restaurant was crowed! the flat screens are so loud you can barely hear your table partners. the servers may or may not notice you...make yourself known or you will not be attended. the food was okay but the atmosphere intolerable. never again.

bad service and bad food. we went after happy hour thinking that it would be a little calmer but it wasn't. it wasn't our server's fault that it was busy but i do hold it against her that she didn't bother to ask us what we were eating after giving us our drinks. our order came out to us wrong but that isn't why we won't be back- we won't be back because for aplacelike this a simple burger should have tasted good. the meat tasted like it came from mcdonald's just juiced up to look like it was decent size and somehow there was a part of the outer perimeter that was pink when the rest of it was cooked o.o the sushi was small and the taste wasn't worth the money they charged. maybe thisplaceis only good for drinks during happy hour (that everyone seems to rave about) because that was the only thing that i enjoyed.

just ok.... i sit at the bar when i go there because none of my friends like kona. it was hugely popular when it opened - now it's really a fad that's faded. part of that is the attitude of the horrible servers. they have such snotty attitudes that they turn people off. the bartenders are worse. there is one that is just so into himself that he makes the experience uncomfortable. he should just sit himself in front of a mirror and stop bothering the customers. noone seems to listen as you give your order, because it never comes out right. extra ginger please. where is my ginger? no eel sauce please. why do i have eel sauce all over this plate? i mean really, can i just go back to the kitchen and tell the cooks what i want? it would be far easier. really, thisplaceis just a big corporate disappointment.

best! sake bombs. i've tried a lot of sake bombs from different places in town and i don't think any otherplacehas as good of a deal as kona. for 9.75 you can get 4 shots of sake and a big beer.

great everytime.... thisplacehas had consistently good food & service every time we go. the l
lobster & ahi flatbread is out of this world. the pan asian noodles are terrific with a spicy hoisin style sauce on udon noodles. (my new favorite asian startch)

amazing diversity!. kona grill is a goodplacefor a group with very diverse tastes. they have everything from a variety of well-priced sushi, to their macadamia nut chicken (better than mom's chicken, and my favorite!). i go here at least once every two weeks, and am never disappointed by the friendly staff or the delectable food. definitely aplaceto try!
