kona grill - omaha

always good. i love kona. i love their menu, their restaurant, and their sushi. yes, it's a chain, but definitely one of the better ones out there. i've never had an issue with anything i've eaten there, and service has always been good. i'll continue to eat there often.

during my last visit i started out with the seaweed salad. honest to god, i could eat this daily. the taste and texture of the dish is almost indescribable. the seaweed gives you a pleasant pop when biting down, and while it feels a tiny bit slimy to chew, that's pleasant as well. flavor is just great. please try this next time you're in. it's a simple, yummy, fresh way to start a meal. my table also ordered a starter of octopus sashimi. i'm simply not a fan of this dish, but the person eating it enjoyed it. our final plate was an order of standard california rolls and a spicy tuna roll. both were up to standards, especially the tuna. it was very fresh, and had the right amount of spice.

we sat in the bar area, and service was good.

kona also has great happy hour specials, but go early because it fills up quickly. at village point, this has to be one of the better dining options.

best! sake bombs. i've tried a lot of sake bombs from different places in town and i don't think any other place has as good of a deal as kona. for 9.75 you can get 4 shots of sake and a big beer.

keep going back. we found this spot on our first visit to omaha and seem to find ourselves back there everytime we visit. the food is fresh, the service good and the atmosphere is relaxing.

great service, all new food makes revisiting this old favorite a new adventure! sushi has evolved into something chic and fun.. the caramel corn creme brulee is to die for!!

lobster & ahi flatbread is out of this world. the pan asian noodles are terrific with a spicy hoisin style sauce on udon noodles. (my new favorite asian startch)

i don't what everyone else's problem is. it's really good food for the price. the happy hour is very reasonable and is available in the afternoon and late at night. the service is what you would expect for $15-20 a plate, national chain restaurant. i gave eaten here many times and would say the only time the service is "bad", is due to understaffing and not necessarily bad waiters or bartenders.

amazing diversity!. kona grill is a good place for a group with very diverse tastes. they have everything from a variety of well-priced sushi, to their macadamia nut chicken (better than mom's chicken, and my favorite!). i go here at least once every two weeks, and am never disappointed by the friendly staff or the delectable food. definitely a place to try!

overpriced and poor service. about two years ago their happy hour was pretty good. since then theyve raised the prices on sake bombs about four different times. they always seem to hassle you about the specials too.

so i read all the reviews and still came in here. in fact i'm sitting in kona as i write this and we've been waiting for our check for thirty minutes. wait the waiter just walked right by us and said nothing. this places service sucks! sorry about any typos as the damn table is woobky too!

horrible. kona grill is the by far the worst sushi i have ever had. the selection is limited and the taste is unrefined. i would rather buy my sushi at hy-vee. on the up side kona offers a grill menu, but on the downside it's just as bad as the sushi. kona has nothing to offer unless your strictly looking for a decent cocktail. the sake bomb's will getcha. don't waste your time or money on this waste of space.

dont eat here!. i have never been a fan of kona. i don't like the grill menu or the sushi. the sushi is bland and boring with nothing to offer. the menu selection is off and doesn't appeal to most. i have only been a few times and struggled to find something i actually like everytime. i will say though, that they do have one good bloody mary.

shopping mall horror. i agree with the earlier post that this restaurant has no sex appeal whatsoever. the food is marginal and the service is way below expectations.
