modern scandinavia decor and an open space makes thisrestaurantfeel breezy. it is situated on the menlyn maine square, so you can get some fresh air, but are still in the shade. we ordered tapas including sea bass ceviche, waghu sliders 🍔 and 🍣. it was all delicious but the ⭐️ of the show was the ceviche. absolutely incredible. the service too was top notch, our waiter, stalin, is a true professional.

one of the best places to grab dim sum and any great asian cuisine. my boyfriend and i often come to thisrestaurantand have not been disappointed as of yet. the decor is lovely and there is the option of sitting on the roof deck looking over the square of restaurants in menlyn maine.

so decided on a chilly winter’s evening to have dinner at koi. we received a very warm welcome from the host. the staff were so friendly and pleasant. although therestaurantis big, the ambiance was quite warm and romantic with soft lighting. fresh and contemporary decor! loved the fact that the drinks and food menu was so extensive! so we tried some japanese beers which were refreshing and quite different. they have a few to choose from! for starters... we ordered different items off the menu, like dim sum, money-pockets, etc. and for mains sushi. the food was very tasty and delicious, some of the best i’ve tasted. the flavors and freshness were spot on. for dessert 🍮 probably one of the best and tastiest puddings i have ever had, it was pina colada type meringue. will definitely return to try more things on the menu!

make no mistake....therestaurantis beautiful and servers friendly but i found the food average and really, very overpriced. i don't believe this is a value for money option. we had the steamed bao... the buns were good but the filling was ice cold. not somewhere i would visit again.

great food, great staff, although they spin a lot when therestaurantgets full. overall very pleasant. i had the infamous wagyu beef starter, it just melts in your mouth.

the food is great, but the service is quite dismal. at least koi has a good reputation, otherwise thisrestaurantwould not survive.

can’t believe i paid r118.00 for 4 sad looking,bite size tacos. i could literally count the number of people in therestauranton one hand but the service was sloooow!
so sad because the franchise in sandton is great.

i had lunch with a client today in menlyn. i’ve been to everyrestaurantin menlyn maine besides this one. the place is huge and has a nice atmosphere. if you can sit on the deck upstairs overlooking the pool. service is good. not great but good. i ordered sushi and it is probably some of the best sushi around. it is a bit pricey but definitely worth it. the place was very empty and i the only concerns i had was the drinks we ordered.

i don’t know how a expensive upper classrestaurantcan even serve off food. i got scombroid poisoning from the seared salmon. i can’t believe that they don’t store their food properly and, i’m sure the chef must of know there was a chance the fish was off, which means he knowingly poisoned me. terrible place will never eat there again. all i can say ask your waiter to ask the chef if he is sure he can serve you fish. and be careful, because if you do get scombroid poisoning, it is extremely dangerous, highly toxic and has the potential to land you up in an emergency room.

we were a very large party that went to koi for a birthday celebration. therestaurantsplit the large table between two waiters and the service was still absolutely pathetic. we waited for more than an hour before being able to order drinks, everytime we called the waiter he managed to mysteriously disappear, the food arrived in drips and drabs and it is completely overpriced. i won't even spend someone else's money there. management was nowhere to be seen. i think it is quite simple: if your waitstaff are not able to handle large parties like we were, don't accept bookings for such large parties. i will not be returning.

so last saturday afternoon me and my gf went to this "prestige"restaurantas we had concert tickets. for the prices they charge and the location they occupy in menlyn main one would expect a decent meal right? i ordered the lamb chops with egg fried rice and she ordered two sliders. we told the waiter we had concert tickets. 55 min and two beers later two plates arrived with our food. my lamb chops consisted of 20% meat and 80% fat. the egg fried rice was rock hard and looked like it was sc****d from the bottom of a pot. now the kicker...how the hell do you ***** up mince? when we received the sliders (two very small hamburgers) the blood was still coming out of the mince. we called the waiter and pointed this out to him. he took the plate back and returned with the two sliders. meat was cooked but the bread was so hard that when my gf cut it half of it left the plate. this leads me to believe that they just popped the whole thing in the microwave hence the bread rocks.since we were already running out of time and we being hungry we hastily ate and paid our bill. the manager did not even come to apologise or offer any kind of help. this was the first and last time i ever went to this restaurant. i could have made much better burgers at my house. thanks for nothing.

koi...i'm actually not sure how to rate this establishment. dinned there on a saturday evening when there was a concert happening at times square, so packed is an understatement of how full it was.  the establishment is lovely, service was however veeeeeeeeery slow because it was so packed. thisrestaurantis just ok. i didn't enjoy the dim sums, they were very doughy, the tempura prawns where something else. the rest of the food was just ok. wasn't to impressed about this place...

thisrestaurantis close to perfection! we have been to koi's previous lynnwood bridge location, but they have improved by leaps and bounds with the move to central sqaure. the venue is breathtaking with modern twists and a luxurious feel. the service was good, can be improved. the food was flawless. as a group of 4 we could not fault a single thing. the dim sum is to die for and both the crispy duck and ribeye can be highly recommended. will definitly keep on returning!

visited koi at menlyn maine last friday with family from cape town, amongst all the hype it was short-lived! the food took ages to arrive, and came in portions so whilst two ate the other two awaited their meal. the food was good but for the wait anything was going to go down. the baby chicken however was a three part fillet??? i wanted to visit the ladies ablution facilities and was directed to the one at the capital hotel only to be told by the guard that i cannot use it. 15 minutes later i watched another lady get up and head in that direction and was not turned away. i informed the gentleman whom came to our table to enquire about the food and he returned with no feedback to me. even waiting for the bill was a long process. therestaurantwas fairly quiet so i am not sure what the issue was. will definitely not be going back there again. very disappointed.
