bad manaagement-bad waiter-bad experience. we made reservations 2 weeks in advance for our 30th wedding anniversary. my in-laws had tried the restaurant about 3 weeks ago and couldnt stop talking about it. we had to wait abut 15 minutes for our table to be ready. we ordered the crab cake appetizer, and the crab was good but the shrimp was fishy tasting. next was salad and french onion soup. the soup was cold, and we had asked for bread when the soup was brought to the table. we never got a chance to complain about the cold soup, as we never saw the waiter. the bread was finally brought once the soup and salad dishes were removed-not what we had in mind, but it gave us something to do during the extended wait we had until oursteaksarrived-at least 30 minutes. all 4steaksarrived cold, and had obviously been sitting undelivered for at least 15-20 minutes. one ribeye did not look or taste right, and we told the waiter it was a sirloin strip. when the manager came over we told him that all thesteaksand the 2 potato sides were cold. he disappeared to get a tray, and finally took the food back to the kitchen 10 minutes later. imagine our surprise when he returned with a fresh replacement for the suspect ribeye, and the other 3 original steaks. the 3steakswere still cold, and had been sitting under heat lamps for the past 30 minutes. since it was a special occasion and we were not alone we chose not to make a bigger deal of the situation. the filet was overcooked, the edges tased funny and were not eaten. the porterhouse was cold and tasteless. the manager seemed surprised that we expected fresh hot steaks. he eventually took off two of thesteaksoff the bill, but it was still expensive for bad service, cold, heat lamp heated steaks, and cold side orders at $7 each for some less than impressive potatoes (the steak fries and roasted potatoes). overall we were there 2 1/2 hours, and did not have dessert (and it wasnt offered), and couldnt wait to leave. it took them 20 minutes to process the check and payment. i even had to ask for a mint to get the taste out of my mouth, and the waiter looked for some. save the drive to pearland and enjoy yourself in the luxury of v*i*c & a*n*t*h*o*n*y*s downtown. same prices, awesome service, much nicer surroundings, and good food.
