birthday dinner gone bad. i don't know who is reviewing this restaurant but thefoodis awful. the lettuce in the caesar salad was not chilled properly and the dressing was very salty. my girlfriends kobe beef steak was tough and cooked at the wrong temperature. the steak fries and they were in a pool of grease. inexcusable. the creamed spinach was also salty and awful. the waiter kept praising the chef like he was a demi god.. . everything i ordered was awful except for the jack daniels, the warm bread, and the dessert which was out of sight. my compliments to the dessert chef.

worst birthday dinner ever!!!!. me and my husband pass killen's quite frequently and noticed all of the cars in the parking lot. we thought, wow thefoodmust be really good. so i decided to celebrate my birthday dinner at killen's. that was the first mistake. upon arrival we had to wait to be seated, even though we had a reservation for 8:15. my mother joined us for dinner that evening and walks with a cane. she can't stand long. the waitress did not offer us a seat for her to sit until the table was ready. by the way the table was dirty maybe that is why we had to wait, with a reservation. our waiter was jason. he was dry, very impersonable, and did not come to introduce himself until we had been sitting for 6 minutes. not once time did he acknowledge my birthday, inspite of the balloons and gift on the table. the water boy had to bring our drinks since jason never did, even though we gave him the order. thefoodtook 20 minutes to arrive. jason only came to the table to explain why after we waved him down. i can count on one hand the number of times jason came to the table and two we to drop off the bill and pick it up. i have never been so disappointed on my birthday. i received better courtesy from the patrons than from the wait staff. two patrons wished me happy birthday! i will be sure to mention this experience with my colleges at the law school. you never know who are entertaining and should treat everyone with the utmost respect. if you do not want the serve all races at your restaurant you should put a sign out front that says so. i will never return to another killen's restuarant. by the way, thanks so much for the worst birthday dinner ever!
i work in service orientated establishment. we greet each customer as they enter and as they exit. we are personable and very attentive to our patrons because we want them to return and have the most pleasurable experience ever. therefore, i expect no less when i spend my hard earned money at a any establishment. you need to reevaluate your level of customer service from the bottom up.

don't let the outside looks fool you!. it looked like a plain mediocre place from the outside, but on the insideis a wonderful 5 star restaurant. i was completely underdressed and casual, of course with no reservations, but they took my hubby and i anyway. thefoodwas the very best i have ever tasted! the sight of the asparagus made my mouth water, the taste was
magnificent! my husband's steak was to die for! we've been twice. now mind you, this is a special occaision place for us, it is pricey, but well worth it!

on a recent businss trip, seven of us decided to make reservations at kiilen's. while thefoodwas very good and the service enjoyable, management was a little snooty. it was getting late and we were enjoying after dinner drinks and dessert when we were suddenly rushed out of the restaurant. it was abrupt and disappointing.

quantity and quality. i was very impressed with the reputation killen's has built for itself. for being such a young restaurant and far from the big city the quality offoodand service is impeccable. the portions can satisfy even the most voracious appetite.

i enjoyed a 16oz dry aged new york strip which was cooked to perfection (med/rare). i also enjoyed a family portion of cream spinach and cream corn (of which i was told won grand prize at the houston rodeo this year). to top off a a wonderful evening i had to try their creme brule bread pudding which is nationally recognized as one of the top 10 dishes in america. i was thoroughly impressed and will dine there again.

bad manaagement-bad waiter-bad experience. we made reservations 2 weeks in advance for our 30th wedding anniversary. my in-laws had tried the restaurant about 3 weeks ago and couldnt stop talking about it. we had to wait abut 15 minutes for our table to be ready. we ordered the crab cake appetizer, and the crab was good but the shrimp was fishy tasting. next was salad and french onion soup. the soup was cold, and we had asked for bread when the soup was brought to the table. we never got a chance to complain about the cold soup, as we never saw the waiter. the bread was finally brought once the soup and salad dishes were removed-not what we had in mind, but it gave us something to do during the extended wait we had until our steaks arrived-at least 30 minutes. all 4 steaks arrived cold, and had obviously been sitting undelivered for at least 15-20 minutes. one ribeye did not look or taste right, and we told the waiter it was a sirloin strip. when the manager came over we told him that all the steaks and the 2 potato sides were cold. he disappeared to get a tray, and finally took thefoodback to the kitchen 10 minutes later. imagine our surprise when he returned with a fresh replacement for the suspect ribeye, and the other 3 original steaks. the 3 steaks were still cold, and had been sitting under heat lamps for the past 30 minutes. since it was a special occasion and we were not alone we chose not to make a bigger deal of the situation. the filet was overcooked, the edges tased funny and were not eaten. the porterhouse was cold and tasteless. the manager seemed surprised that we expected fresh hot steaks. he eventually took off two of the steaks off the bill, but it was still expensive for bad service, cold, heat lamp heated steaks, and cold side orders at $7 each for some less than impressive potatoes (the steak fries and roasted potatoes). overall we were there 2 1/2 hours, and did not have dessert (and it wasnt offered), and couldnt wait to leave. it took them 20 minutes to process the check and payment. i even had to ask for a mint to get the taste out of my mouth, and the waiter looked for some. save the drive to pearland and enjoy yourself in the luxury of v*i*c & a*n*t*h*o*n*y*s downtown. same prices, awesome service, much nicer surroundings, and good food.
