overpriced. my wife and i were excited about trying killens for mybirthdaydinner based on what we had heard. however we were very underwhelmed. place looked like a roadside bar outside and was actually decorated with floor tiles on the ceiling. the sat us at stable at back where my view was the wall. service was slow, taking 10 min just to see our waiter for drink orders. steaks were good but nothing i would go back for and we have had better for less. very limited wine by the glass selection. we tried 3 reds and settled for the least offensive. just a lot of hype but didn't deliver on expectations. won't go back.

went there for my husband'sbirthdaywith our children to celebrate. i wish we would have eaten there before we chose it for a special occasion. if you have never been there i'm sure that you have had this experience somewhere else. picture a really small restaurant with a awkward floor plan ( the dining room is really small with a whole bunch of tables shoved into it then a very small area was divided with a make shift wall- lattice or something to that effect.) in which the small area is crammed full of tables. the divided small area you have to squeeze threw to get to the rest room. the tables are so close together that when getting up from the table you have to either bump the guest sitting behind you with your chair and squeeze out or hold it. the restaurant is so smallyou can see everything from the front door- the kitchen, their refrigerators, all the tables and guest even the bathroom door.) all from first glimpse from the front door. ok so i will move on to the food. you will see more reviews about soups, salads, & appetizers and sides for this place for two reasons they're pretty good ( my favorite was the tuna tacos) and they are more affordable. my husband ordered the house special it was a 32oz with a what they call a dry rub ( ordering beef there or listening to them explain exactly how each steak was different and of coarse why and all the history behind that is like going to basking and robbins for chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and them having evening but that then you have to listen to them go threw each flavor and its description and why its better than chocolate chip cookie dough.) ok so don't be intimidated by the 32oz its a lot more bone than meat. i had the 16oz dry rub rib eye... mine was sweet his was smokey. they bake they're steaks not grill. mine was dry his was moist. they noise from other tables was out of this world because it really cramped up and of coarse people drinking bottle after bottle of wine things tend to get louder. i had my children in there with me so me and my husband got upset when table right across from us started getting really rowdy and vulgar. the staff (two of them) where cutting up with them. the manager with just walking around getting people their water etc he would look over during the next histerical outburst and laugh. we asked one of the servers if they could keep it down our kids were with us he said not a problem y'all are about threw with it i will box it up and not to worry he understood ( this was at the beginning of our meal) . so if you go and like the place great if not sorry. good luck i hope better experiences for every one.

80thbirthdaydinner. never so disappointed in my life. i don't mind paying thru the roof for good food, but the steak was tough, the waiter disinterested, didn't acknowledge the birthday, had to flag him down to get a refill on water. i do say, however, that the cream corn is to die for. thank goodness i found the receipe on another site so i will make it at home. if you really want top of the line steak and service, try taste of texas on the katy freeway. just my two cents.

unfortunately we do not have much of a choice of high end restaurants in pearland. so based on many good reviews we decided to celebrate my wife'sbirthdayat killen's. when making our reservation i inquired about the dress code and was told "business casual". to us that means nothing less than casual slacks and golf shirt for a man. granted we are in pearland, but at these prices.... money is not the issue here, but imagine our disappointment when seated at a table next to a loud, group where the best dressed male was wearing wranglers and a fishing t shirt not to mention the guys in shorts. we much rather enjoy perry's in friendswood. will have to really consider another visit!!'

worstbirthdaydinner ever!!!!. me and my husband pass killen's quite frequently and noticed all of the cars in the parking lot. we thought, wow the food must be really good. so i decided to celebrate mybirthdaydinner at killen's. that was the first mistake. upon arrival we had to wait to be seated, even though we had a reservation for 8:15. my mother joined us for dinner that evening and walks with a cane. she can't stand long. the waitress did not offer us a seat for her to sit until the table was ready. by the way the table was dirty maybe that is why we had to wait, with a reservation. our waiter was jason. he was dry, very impersonable, and did not come to introduce himself until we had been sitting for 6 minutes. not once time did he acknowledge my birthday, inspite of the balloons and gift on the table. the water boy had to bring our drinks since jason never did, even though we gave him the order. the food took 20 minutes to arrive. jason only came to the table to explain why after we waved him down. i can count on one hand the number of times jason came to the table and two we to drop off the bill and pick it up. i have never been so disappointed on my birthday. i received better courtesy from the patrons than from the wait staff. two patrons wished me happy birthday! i will be sure to mention this experience with my colleges at the law school. you never know who are entertaining and should treat everyone with the utmost respect. if you do not want the serve all races at your restaurant you should put a sign out front that says so. i will never return to another killen's restuarant. by the way, thanks so much for the worstbirthdaydinner ever!
i work in service orientated establishment. we greet each customer as they enter and as they exit. we are personable and very attentive to our patrons because we want them to return and have the most pleasurable experience ever. therefore, i expect no less when i spend my hard earned money at a any establishment. you need to reevaluate your level of customer service from the bottom up.

vegetarian approved. being a vegetarian, i assumed going to a steakhouse for my father'sbirthdaymeant that if i was lucky i could find a salad and a side dish i could eat. oh how wrong i was. i ask the waiter what they had that i could eat and he informed me that the chef usually likes to come out and prepare something especially for vegetarians that they would like. the chef came out, ask me what i liked and told me about the best heirloom carrots they just got in and some other wonderful garden treats. i gave him free reign to make whatever he wanted and he prepared the best meal i've ever had. it is hard for me to explain the dish exactly, but i assure you that the chef will not disappoint you.
also, all the very picky carnivores at the table were extremely happy with their steaks - especially the bone-in grilled ribeye. to top off the dinner we all had their top rated bread pudding which was great too.

birthday ruined. we tried to go to killen's for mybirthdayfriday night. we called for directions. the woman who answered the phone told us to take 288 to 35 and turn right, then go past 518. well we saw signs for angleton and called the restaurant, and were assured we were going the right direction. we kept heading south, called again, and again were were assured we on the right path. we finally found hwy 35, off of 288 and went right as we were told. i called a friend for directions then and found out is was 30 miles back the way we came off the beltway. we then called for a manager, i believe paul, who was unsympathetic to this hour and a half tour we had taken because the person who answered the phone, clearly did not know where she was or how to get there. we went to flemmings since it was close to 10 when we got back to the beltway. we left the house at 8. thank you killen's for making me spend my evening driving all over the place. i sent an email and it was never answered. i think customer service is the first place you start, clearly killen's steak house has none.
