nothing special. i have been here to watch some games and it's nothing beyond okay. it has outdoor seating on the river which is very nice and our server was very attentive and friendly. the food is your averagebarfare at best. some of my friends like it so i am sure i'll end up back there at some point to catch a game but there's much better options than here.

we have gone here several times before a show because of the convenient location near stage ae. i so much want this place to have decent food, but no luck. we have tried half a dozen different appetizers and small plates. nachos are notably sub par.baris pretty though, so guess i might go just for a drink.

terrible food. have tried several times to come here and give it a chance but always disappoints sand in my lettuce salad, forgotten items, wrong items, absolutely not like it was when it first opened. it'sbarfood if anything but not even goodbarfood

i was pleased with everything about this place.  the location, the service and the food.  it was walking distance from everything.  my hotel was across the street from the baseball stadium pnc park, this restaurant was two blocks from there on the waterfront and the football stadium, heinz field was directly across from this restaurant.  i had the deep fried cheeseburger.  when it was delivered, it was not what i imagined, but it was soooo much better than anything i could have imagined.  the entire burger, bun and all are battered and deep fried.  this burger is half heaven and half heart attack at the same time, but you have to try it.  i also had the loaded mac and cheese instead of fries and that was a lot of food.  i could not finish the mac and cheese, but i certainly finished the burger.  service at thebarwas great.  check out the men's room (men), i have never seen a restroom like this in my life.  i will not spoil it for you.

terrible menu. my husband and i recently stopped here on a thursday night. i have not been in a long time except to grab a beer before a steeler game last year, when it was packed. one of the four hostesses standing at the desk recommended thebararea, we accepted until we realized there were tvs in the dinning room as well. i wanted a beer and i was told by the server that they had 36 on tap, but no list to offer, just asked me what i like. i understand that they probably change a few of them, but maybe have a base list and a seasonal list.
the menu was sad to say the least, the descriptions of the food were awful, we sat staring at the menu for a while before ordering a steak salad and a burger. i was especially disgusted by the "chef specialties" one of them was actually called "the garbage plate". i get that it is a sports bar, but the atmosphere suggests that they would have a decent menu. we were the only ones in our dinning room, there was a large party in the next room. our food came out rather fast, but my husbands burger was burnt on one side and my salad had a bunch of chunks of meat on it. it was tasty but i had to do a lot of cutting, before being able to eat it.
the service was good, and i have to mention that the staff was attractive, and it seemed like a clean place, except for the boxes of straws and other supplies all over the counter, next to us, ironically on top of a bunch of cabinets.
not somewhere i would go back to, and i will definitely not be recommending to clients visiting pittsburgh, not the impression i would want to give them of our great city!
they could use a visit from chef ramsey!

average food, high prices. this is your typical high profile athlete sports bar. been to many of these such as larry csonka's in florida and micheal jordan's in chicago. this is one of those places you can say you've been to but probably won't frequent too much. the food is good but not outstanding. service was good at thebarand bartender always had a nice big smile. but $5 for a domestic draft beer pint is a little rediculous. it's almost like sitting in heinz field!

awesome staff, great times!. we go to jerome bettis' grille 36 several times a month and yet to have a bad experience! no matter how busy thebaris, whether there is a home steelers or pitt panther game, a show going on at stage ae etc, we always get excellent service from the bartenders, especially kia and amanda! they are our most favorite bartenders in the city and we look forward to seeing them everytime we're there!

i really like the bettis grille on the north shore. they have a pretty good menu, with up-scalebarfood and everything from fresh salads to a deep fried cheeseburger. yep. deep fried cheeseburger. the whole thing is battered and fried....it might be the only thing on the menu that i won't order, but i bet i'd like it!

great time. was in pittspurgh for a college football game, and found bettis' grill. we had a great time, and the food portions were large, to say the least. however, far and away, the best part of this sportsbarwas the staff. kia and missi were great, and ensured that all in our group had a great time. tell them that the fans from tcu sent you.

beer selection is on point. servers don't know anything about it so eat at the bar. i came in after a show late right before they were closing yet the bartenders were extremely friendly and welcoming even though my boyfriend and i came at closing time. goodbarstaff, can't speak for food

first experience. as a city native i wanted to show my newly relocated friend from new york some of the sportsbarhotspots. location was cool free parking was definatly a plus. anyway atmosphere was nice, set in a closed restaraunt area. food was good, although a bit pricey, same goes for the drinks. thumbs up to the sausage & egg appitizer. my friend ordered the veggie burger, that fell apart in her hands, but the waitstaff was more than happy to replace it with and excellent turkey burger w/pepper jack. on a side note wtf? is up with the lights in the ladies room, i mean what the hell? i could barely see the hand infront of my face, when i asked one of the waitstaff, he explained to me that the lights were dimmed so that the male side of the bathroom wasn't in clear view. in my opinion still no excuse. aside from the bathroom fiasco i was really upset that the steelers got beat, other than that it was a good night, and i would gladly go back.

food was surprisingly really good. thought it would be standard sportsbargrub, but was pleasantly surprised. bring your appetite - portions as big. nachos and sliders were both great. beer selection is good enough to satisfy just about any taste.

a cool place with some issues.... i've been to bettis' many times, most recently a few days ago.
i've always enjoyed it. it's a coolbarwith surprisingly good upscale spins on bar/comfort food. the usual downside to the place is if anything is going on at either stadium, the place is unbearably packed. but regardless of crowd, i've always had good meals with good service. my last trip bucked that trend, though. too bad i wasn't on urbanspoon before, or the good trips would have been chronicled.
since there was no game at pnc park, it was pretty slow, despite it being a friday night. we just grabbed a high-top by the bar. first off, the table was really sticky, and had a couple patches of scrape-able gunk.
the waitress quickly came over to take our drink order. i asked her what bourbons they have. she quickly responded, "oh, i don't know that." as if i'd asked her the atomic weight of cesium. no offer to find out...as far as she was concerned, the ball was back in my court. so i ordered a jim beam and asked for a menu.
we had just come from dinner elsewhere, so i only ordered a dessert...some chocolate mousse cookie thing. it was delivered to the table literally within 2 minutes of me placing the order. i'm all for prompt service, but when it comes that fast, it's harder for me to trick myself into believing it wasn't plated 4 hours ago.
and since she clearly just grabbed the plate out of the freezer, the dessert was rock-solid...not a trait i usually associate with mousse. i had a few bites, then let it thaw for 5 minutes or so. its flavor and texture was much better once it was a bit more mousse-like.
i think this is just a case of a poorly-trained waitress, and like i said, isn't representative of my usual experience at bettis'. her response to my bourbon question actually became a fun running joke for the rest of the evening, so i guess she earned her tip in a roundabout way.
i'm just surprised that the one time i get bad service is the only time i've been there that it wasn't busy at all.

ohno. on saturday april 2nd we visited thebarand grille we did not have a very wonderful experience. after giving our name and number of people in the party they asked for a cell phone number and told us to make sure the phone was on vibrate. after about 25 minutes the person whose name was on the list went up and asked how much longer it would be and they told him they had scratched his name off because he was seated already. someone had simply walked up to the list and taken our spot on the list by claiming they were in our party. if they had used their own system this could have been avoided but simply stated to my friend when he remarked this that he was just doing his job. we even spoke to a manger after about the 50 min mark and the only thing he could say to us was that we had just made it to the top of the list. then the person who seated us could have cared less that we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes just to be seated. after we were seated there can be no complaints our waitress was exceptional and tried to make sure we were happy with the visit. the food was excellent and moderatly priced

great sportsbaratmosphere. try the grilled caesar salad and a flatbread pizza.
