jazz’d was recommended by a lot of people when asked about the best places to have a night out in savannah. they do not take reservations unless it is for a large group, so we had to wait about 40 minutes to get a table on a saturday night. the place was very loud on account of having 3 bachelorette parties being hosted there.

i ordered a citrus basil martini and it was fantastic. to start off with, we ordered the calamari, firecracker shrimps and the hot spinach dip. even though the place was extremely busy, we got our food on time. the firecracker shrimp was amazing. the shrimps were fresh and the sweet and spicy sauce was well balanced. the hot spinach dip lived up to its reputation. it had lots of artichoke pieces smothered in hot cheese and spinach. the calamari, however, was a disappointment for me. it was soggy and the coating was flaking off. the marinara sauce was not impressive either.

we decided to order the chorizo sliders as well. even though we were not waiting for two long, our waitress, simone, checked in with us to see if we got our sliders on time. when we told her that we are still waiting on it, she apologized and went to check on it. the came back and informed us that she had forgotten to place the order and apologized profusely. she then gave us a complimentary seared tuna. this ended up being my favorite dish of the night. the tuna was fresh and the wasabi aioli and wonton base were perfect parings for it. the service was impeccable and we felt well cared for. simone was an excellent hostess and gave us some other recommendations for restaurants as well.

the noise level at the restaurant is a bit bothersome. they should also get some new, comfortable chairs. not the ideal place for a romantic dinner but the atmosphere is great fordrinksand a quick bite as the food anddrinksare incredible.

great food, great value. we got the $60 tapas for two. lamb, sirloin was excellent. portions are near entree size and generous. prepared well. greatdrinksat a reasonable price. this is a new savannah favorite. music on our visit was so so but the food more than compensated. this is less than waterfront restaurants while having far better food.

way to ruin our wedding night!. let's start with the fact that we wanted our experience at jazz'd to be awesome. they came highly recommended by friends and we selected them as a venue for our wedding night. perhaps our expectations were too high. for how nice it looks, you expect jazz'd to be upscale. the food anddrinks(although priced at an upscale level) are not quite up to par. the food was good at best and thedrinkswere watered down. prior to our wedding we went to jazz'd to try them out with friends. thedrinkswere tasty yet weak. the service was very slow. the food was good but not all it had been hyped up to be. we decided to give them another chance as we enjoyed the atmosphere with the live music and thought it would make a fun place to hold post wedding festivities. when we made arrangements for our wedding we were told to be sure we were there at 9 and not late. on the night of our wedding we showed up before 9 and ended up having to wait about 45 minutes to be seated in the small room we had reserved for our wedding party. it was embarrassing. our guests wanted to know why we were having to wait. i didn't have a good answer. the hostess simply stated that there were still diners in our area that had eaten there prior to nine and were finished eating but hadn't left and they should be finishing up soon so we had to wait. it was ridiculous. they weren't even apologetic. when we were finally seated we had one waiter for 12 people and it took a long time just to get our first round of drinks. when it came time for our cake (which we had prearranged with them) we physically had to track down our waiter from in the kitchen to bring it to us and follow through with our requests. after we had the cake the waiter did not return the rest of the evening to check on us, see if we neededdrinksor anything. we had to physically track him down again just to get the bill. the service was so bad that we ended up sending about half of our guests home early because they were bored and there was no one waiting on us. completely ridiculous! i had my heart set on this place because i thought with the live music and ambiance it would be perfect. even the live music was a let down as the musicians took very frequent breaks for long periods of time playing prerecorded music instead. completely appalled by this place and will never return! save your money!!

favorite place for a date, early drinks, tourists. im a local, but my visitors love this place. amibiance and food is amazing, as is the presentation. theres a variety on teh menu.drinksare a bit expensive, and there will probably be a fair wait on a friday/saturday. very good food and very good attention to diet restrictions/food allergies. romantic place.
the only complaint some guests i know have is the fact the live music (incredible) is loud, so older or the hearing impaired may find it hard to coversate/too much to handle. but its jazz'd right? bring on the music.

ok tapas, nice atmosphere. loved the basement location, speak-easy type of bar with cooldrinksand sinatra-esque performers. the tapas we ordered were pretty good but didn't have that extra something that would make me rate this a great place to eat. the chicken lettuce wraps seemed to lack seasoning. the lasagna was good but with all the cheese it was hard to tell if it had any other flavor. our other choice came out cold originally and we had to send it back to be re-cooked. if i lived in savannah i might come back a few times, but if you're passing through town there are other places you might want to hit instead. gooddrinksspot, though.

good times, great food. most everything we oredered was excellent. no problems w/ special requests for drinks. they also have american cuisine for those non adventurous folks in your party. i would recommend the cheese/bread/fruit/garlic plate and the empanades. the band that played the night we went was excellent. they would not take a reservation but told us to call 1 hour prior to arrival and we could reserve a table, no problems but it filled fast. very good service from the waitress but keep an eye on your utensils anddrinksas they will be snatched up before you know it, if it appears 3/4 finished. one thing rubbed me the wrong way though. we inquired if we could see/hear the band from our table and the host (an unshaven young fellow) told us that when we finished we could move over to the bar area(very minimal seating). we asked if it was ok to sit at our table after we finished our meal and havedrinksand enjoy the music. he said "we arent going to ask you to leave but we usually have people waiting". seems like they were trying to hurry us along to turn over a table as it was saturday night but we just took our time. thats my only complaint. overall a winner, just ignore the host/hostess and enjoy!

* if any waitresses read this here my 2 cents. you might make more money if you dont hurry people along. some people really do tip according to service. so dont be in such a hurry to flip a table.
