love foods great. family dinners and the best beans next to my moms. service is okay most days andgreaton other days gotta try the rib tips. the lamb is awesome!!!!!!

always consistent in theirgreatservice and food! onion rings, burnt ends and their cheesy corn are must try's for first time visitors.

overall still the best bbq in town. there isn't a bad item on the menu. that said, it seems lately the quality has slipped a bit. but still one of my favorite places to eat when i want somegreatbbq.

we had a retirement celebration for a fellow worker here today. we were in and out in one hour and there were 25 of us. good food andgreatservice as usuall.

serious bar-b-que. really good though probably not my favorite. one thinggreatabout this place-they smoke all kinds of meat-extensive menu.

jacks stack..is for real. best meal, in a very long time.

here is my wife and my notes:

1. the smell as we walked up, the line 45min long and atmosphere was a prelude ofgreatexpectations. we had heard a few say it was good, but this is really really good.

2. service: above average, to the point of a little overbearing, but better than not. nice, knowledgeable and frequently took care of us

3. decor: clean, well kept, very nice (a)

4. food: to be cliche', epic. the ribs, were best ever for me, my wife had prime rib, and she will be buried remembering the night she ate prime rib. its been a couple of years now, and we still talk about it (a++)

overall: this beats the crap out of memphis and nc and texas bbq, hands down, not even close. if you want to impress, take them here

pretty good bbq. on a recommendation from a mpls co-worker, i tried the crown prime beef ribs. initially i really liked it.greatsmokey flavor and aroma. it actually ended up a little too smokey for me. not bad, just not great. the sauces, both regular and hot, were very good. the burnt ends (unheard of up north!) were my first ever and i really enjoyed them.
may try it again next time we are in kc, but there are other places i want to try first. and one i will go back to (ab's).

awesome bbq, nice place,greatservice. this place is one of my favorites here in the south kc area. there are a few things that are really important to have a nice meal and jack stack bbq has them all.

1) not only is the food delicious, but the portions are extremely generous. we always end up taking some home. our favorite is the burnt ends, beans & cheesy corn.

2) the place is so nice. we love the environment and how classy it feels. all the servers are dressed in black and there is ambient lighting. looks fancy without it affecting the budget.

3) who doesn't like customer service with their dinner? i know i do. the people at jack stack are very friendly and always have a smile on their face. they are helpful and always make sure you have what you need and even more.

one bad thing: they don't have mashed potatoes.

when i came to live in the kansas city area,in 1981, one of thegreatfoods i was introduced to was barbecue. of course i probably ate bbq previously in new england, north carolina and michigan, where i lived, before moving to kansas. i guess i don't reme
