il terrazzo

great for a business lunch. i have dined at il terrazzo for business lunches many times. they have quick, efficient service and delicious food. my favorite is the spaghettini con capesante. the bread and tapanade that is served as an appetizer is amazing and prices are very reasonable for the high quality food with reasonable portion sizes.

great experience. the muscles were amazing. service was friendly and helpful with menu recommendations.

not worth it!. i have now been ti il terrazzo three times and i must admit that i just don't get it! i do not understand why it's so busy. the food is barely ok and the speed at which it's delivered to the table is astonishing! we barely had our wine opened when the appetizer came (about 1 minute after ordering it). i am assuming this means it was pre-made, which seems odd for a caprese salad in what many consider "the best italian restaurant". then, the minute we finished the salad the main courses arrived. no time to relax, drink some more wine and chat. the main courses were huge and covered in heavy sauces that completely overwhelmed the actual dishes (short rib and venison), which were very, very large. i have no idea why the portions need to be so large...it's not the olive garden or america. the risotto was poorly cooked and the cannelloni was unrecognizable. finally, the table was so long that you could barely hear your table mate talk or create any atmosphere at all. again, i just don't get why this restaurant is so popular. i suggest you try matisse or camille's. both are fantastic, with exquisite food and wonderful, well paced service.

solid, fresh italian food. everything was very fresh and tasty. this is a very solid italian restaurant that offers good service. i did not see any dishes that struck me as unusual or truly innovative but every item that was ordered by our table tasted quite delicious. this included the mussels appetizer, the halibut, the chicken with prawns/scallops, the braised ribs and the squash ravioli with crab cakes. the ceasar salad was fine too but it was served in a small unappealing plate. overall, however, this is a good place if you're looking for fresh italian food in victoria. they also have a very extensive selection of wines.

so-so. we went for a birthday celebration and heard really good things about il terrazzo. the appetizer was awesome - roasted garlic and gorgonzola cheese - fantastic. unfortunately entrees were lacking. thecannelloni con polpetti crabcakes were luke warm and extremely salty and the raviolli stuffed with squash is better at the chain restaurant cactus club. the flavor of the veal in the vitello con funghi was fantastic but the polenta was extremely salty which wrecked the whole meal. my daughter enjoyed the linguine marco polo and my son enjoyed the bolognese so maybe keeping it simple is the key to ordering at il terrazzo. the service was excellent.

always the best. rob and his team continue to create an amazing dining experience for their patrons. i entertained some friends there last week and the food, the service and the personal attention to detail were fantastic. thanks rob, i always feel great about recommending il terrazzo. frank

reliably exquisite. this place never disappoints! as my go-to restaurant for all out of town guests (18 people in august alone), i so appreciate having il terrazzo's reliably exquisite experience on my doorstep.

what a beautiful venue. wish we had a seat in the solarium as it looks amazing. tucked away right off johnson st this was a lucky find for my wife and i. i generally am very encouraged when a restaurant has a bit older service staff. i run a few restaurants myself and i must say our server tonight was great. despite being quite busy he was informative, with impeccable product knowledge, and very accommodating. when asked whether i should go with the rack of lamb or the diablo risotto he suggested a solution where i could have the lamb with risotto instead of potatoes (no brainer). both of our meals were fantastic, great homemade caesar to start. my wife had the tiramisu and thought it was "amazing" (i should add she is pregnant and loves sweets all of a sudden), i had a nice scotch from their f respectable scotch selection for my dessert. i give this place a solid 4.5 out of 5

don't miss it. a little off the main street, an unpretentious entrance but interior and patio first class dining environment. the food is excellent. service, attention to detail and excellent food make this a must visit on any trip to victoria. the wine list is excellent with wherever in the world your wine tastes wonder. make sure to get a reservation. appetizer : calamari fritto excellent. la frenz wine from the okanagan : perfect. salmon with gorganzola mashed potatoes, excellent as well. crabcakes, canaloni with butternut sauce stuffing and curry squash : perfecto! you are eating someplace else? why?

very busy, but still great service. pulled pork cannelloni, who ever heard of that? it was delicious!

probably the best meal i've ever had. a boyfriend took me here for valentines day once. although the wine was very pricey, and the food was pricey too, this was probably the best meal i've ever eaten in my entire life. everything was cooked perfectly, and presented well. kudos to the kitchen.

- my favorite is the calamari ripieni but i think it is off the menu now. nevertheless everything else is pretty good. - dinner nice, too but they are usually full so make sure you have a reservation - nice open kitchen in the back of the restaurant. - classic chandeliers with candles on the ceiling - beautiful courtyard with heaters for semi-outdoor dining in the summer time  you should go give it a try.  mon  

fantastic for over 10 years!!. i can't say enough amazing things about this victoria gem. we have been going here since before we were married and we have never ever been disappointed. the ambiance is lovely the chef creative and consistently producing fantastic dishes. we save up to go but have never left feeling we didn't get our money's worth. if you haven't been you are definitely missing out.

nice dine out choice. the first impression of ii terrazzo was warm and comfortable, it is a really good place for couples hang out or anniversary celebration.
we are amazed by its service. the waitress was super friendly and always has a warm smile on her face. if you don't know what to order just go to ask, the waitress gave us good recommendation.
most importantly, the food was super tasty. all our dishes were well made and the bread taste like just came out form the oven.
even it is little pricy, i think it worth for the quality of food.
