brilliant all around!. visiting my sister invictoriawho lives in the building connected to il terrazzo, passing and smelling the aromas from the kitchen. i was eager to taste the food from this highly recommended restaurant. the reviews recommended the filletto d'halibut and i can honestly say this is the best halibut i have ever had. baked with cambozola cheese and a blackberry, green peppercorn, aged balsamic vinegar reduction on top of 3 cheese pasta. the food here was so good, instead of finishing our meal we decided to save the rest for our after drinking late night snack. the service was friendly, funny and informative. top notch. the ambiance and feel of the restaurant made for warm and enjoyable evening.

italian in victoria. have visitedvictoriaa couple times lately both times had dinner at il terrazo. fantastic food and atmosphere. i will go there every time i visit victoria. willies bakery for breakfast and il terrazo for dinner.

a trip tovictoriais never complete without dinner at il terrazzo. it is an all around 5 star experience! the attentive and genuine staff, the great ambiance, the inventive cocktails and skillfully selected wine list, the quality and deliciousness of the dishes are all second to none. i’m always impressed with my whole experience - every detail is impeccably orchestrated into the best meal ever. and the food, awesome. such good value for money too with impressive portions which is unexpected for a restaurant of this calibre. can’t wait to go back. just book a table. you’ll thank me later!

i came here with my husband last night for my birthday.
we were running almost half an hour late for our reservation and called to let them know. we were lucky enough to find a parking spot close by and walking up to the restaurant, it's extremely inviting and beautiful. we were seated right away without having to wait which was nice considering it was jam packed and we were late so that was appreciated.
we were sat in the 'outside' type area which is covered but looks like it's outside, it's absolutely gorgeous, real plants and flowers everywhere, heat lamps. nice lighting, really stunning. it was very loud in there i found, i think just because it really was busy and the tables were somewhat crowded together.
we were sat next to a fireplace which we could control so that was very romantic and a nice touch.

we had water right away and i then ordered a monte christo coffee which was very tasty and then a class of the riesling which was also very nice. my husband ordered an italian beer. the drinks selection is huge and many wines to choose from.

service was friendly and fast and we didn't feel bothered at all.
i ordered the seafood linguine and my husband ordered the cannelloni.
my pasta was perfectly cooked and had a great amount of seafood. the shrimp was incredible but the mussels had a slightly strange flavour. i order mussels a lot so i have a good idea of how they should taste and these were seemed a little different, it could have been the sauce combination though. it wasn't terrible but not quite to my taste. the scallops were all different sizes so were unevenly cooked.

my husbands cannelloni was delicious, it was like a curry/pasta fusion and i had a quick taste and liked it a lot, definitely worth a try.

the bread and tapenade they bought out was also really delicious and plentiful.

we ordered desserts which were very nicely presented, i had the creme brûlée which is my favourite dessert to begin with and this was a good one, so worth it, just perfect.
my husband had the flourless chocolate cake, i personally didn't like the coulis that came with it and the berries, too tart for my liking but the cake itself was tasty and rich and the ice cream was lovely.

overall the restaurant is so beautiful and service excellent, great for a date night or special occasion. id like to come back again when i'm in thevictoriaarea (i live up mid island) id like to try some other items to have a good idea of the menu and quality of the food as i wasn't blown away.

a romantic italian eatery with an old world feel. pastas, meat dishes, seafood and delicious wood fire pizzas. ample portions, great service & an extensive wine list. a long timevictoriafavourite. bon appetito!

best italian i've ever had. oh... oh goodness is this good. i love the atmosphere as well. the outside is lovely, and i rather like the sunroof patio. the food is just exquisite. it's obviously a splurge, but il terrazzo is well worth it. if you have a more modest budget like me, then it's a wonderful place to try for lunch, with very reasonable entrees at about $15, that are just as delicious.

il terrazzo is something you've got to try if you're in victoria.

as someone who moved tovictoriafrom calgary, and frequents vancouver, i can say to the previous reviewer that their single bad experience shouldn't twist their view so much. this place is fantastic.

italian excellence. we visited this restaurant solely on the reccomendation of a couple of fellow guests at our hotel - it of course looked good too! nice slightly hidden location, great ambience and a good selection of dishes on the menu.

the food and service were excellent and the waiters, sorry server's knowledge of their excellent wine list was an enourmous help to myself as i have a good knowledge of aussie wines and some experience with bc wines but little with 'old world' wines!

both our kids (14 and 11) did an excellent job of attacking dishes from the standard menu as did their older dining companions. deserts and after dinner drinks rounded out the evening quite nicely.

a more expensive restaurant but the pricing was in line with the service and quality. i am quite happy to recommend il terrazzo and would eat there again - although it may be a while till i'm back invictoria- my previous visits being in 1986!

fantastic for over 10 years!!. i can't say enough amazing things about thisvictoriagem. we have been going here since before we were married and we have never ever been disappointed. the ambiance is lovely the chef creative and consistently producing fantastic dishes. we save up to go but have never left feeling we didn't get our money's worth. if you haven't been you are definitely missing out.

had a wonderful meal last night. we were invictoriafor our anniversary and thought we would try il terrazzo. appetizers were delicious, and the main course was really good too. i really liked the space that the restaurant was in, and the feel of the restaurant was excellent. it is not a quiet place, but that did not take away from the experience.

elegant & delicious. like manyvictoriaresidents, i've been coming to il terazzo for years. the food is always delicious, the space is romantic and beautiful (exposed brick walls, rustic wood tables, and fireplace-warmed patio), and the staff are knowledgable and gracious. a wonderful place to celebrate those special moments with friends & family, and the perfect setting for an intimate dinner.

amazing every time!!. il terrazzo is expensive, but its worth it. there is nothing i hate more then going to a place and paying a lot of money and being horribly disappointed. with il terrazzo that never happens. this place has built its reputation on a small but superb menu creative, seasonal and well just fantastic food. i leftvictoriafor a bit and came back 4 years later to find the food just as perfect as i remember it. love love love this place!

avictoriamust. just went back for another amazing meal. the ambiance was lovely, i don't know what people are talking about with the "cafeteria style" comments. the service was attentive, the food divine. my favourite was the seared scallops appetizer. great wine selection as well.

mom in town, needed some place dependible, zambris was closed so..... we had a great waiter, attentive but not pushy! the bread & tampanade were fresh homemade and everyone at the table enjoyed them. we started w a goatcheese and mango salsa salad, everone tasted it and it was a newvictoriafavorite. for mainsthe pasta was good and not overcooked, the homemade meetballs were excellent a blend of beef, pork and veal as good as nona made! the lamb special was perfectly done and rivled vijis in vanciuver! overall the silence, combined with the outbursts of descriptions and laughter sez it all!

really good. we liked the warm ambiance, the slightly snarky but funny waitress, the bread and olive tepanade, the three course meal (crab cakes on a great salad, creamy chicken linguini, and three cheeses, nuts and fruit plate) and being seating right away (though we arrived very early, at 5pm). we loved the dessert sampler, especially the tiramisu and the frangelico cream sauce on the brownie. finally, a really good restaurant invictoriaworth the price!!!
