disappointed. i went to thisrestaurantbecause my family had a gift card to it and my brother likes thisrestaurantalot. however, boy was the food crummy. the service was extremely quick, however, i was left dissatisfied when the entree i got was underwhelming. by the way i got the chicken marco polo. additionally, my girlfriend got a pretty good entree with a delicious white wine reduction but for the price this place turned out to be rather over rated.

brilliant all around!. visiting my sister in victoria who lives in the building connected to il terrazzo, passing and smelling the aromas from the kitchen. i was eager to taste the food from this highly recommended restaurant. the reviews recommended the filletto d'halibut and i can honestly say this is the best halibut i have ever had. baked with cambozola cheese and a blackberry, green peppercorn, aged balsamic vinegar reduction on top of 3 cheese pasta. the food here was so good, instead of finishing our meal we decided to save the rest for our after drinking late night snack. the service was friendly, funny and informative. top notch. the ambiance and feel of therestaurantmade for warm and enjoyable evening.

i highly recommend this restaurant. sometimes you can believe the hype! thanks il terrazzo. i will come visit victoria more often for you alone. a++

always enjoyable. we brought our friends to il terrazzo as they are looking for a fine dining experience with amazing atmosphere and ambiance. we all liked the fantastic atmosphere, even though it was packed on a saturday evening. our server was great as he was friendly, and suggested lots of good choices for my friends who are coming to il terrazzo for the first time. the cozze (steam mussels) was great as usual, and the ingredients blend in nicely. in general, the food was not as good as before; perhaps the kitchen had a busy night. the rack of lamb (carre d'agnello) does not have enough flavor, and lacks presentation. the seafood pasta is decent, with generous and fresh ingredients. the grilled chicken breast and halibut (filletto d'halibut) were grilled nicely, though the taste were also average. i do not like the three cheese sauce on the pasta as it does not taste good and go well with the halibut. although my friends are too full for dessert, i always save my stomach for the tiramisu, which is the star of the dessert menu. overall, we had an enjoyable evening as a result of the fantastic atmosphere, and attentive service. i think the quality of the food has declined a little bit, and the quality and the presentation of the food might not fit into the fine dining category.

nice romantic spot, excellent food and service. although i have read some poor reviews about the food and service of il terrazzo, i felt the service was always excellent everytime i go there. the server was very friendly, and it is the second time that he served us. last night was no different, the sevice was great on a busy friday evening; the food has some ups and downs.

we had the cozze (steam mussels with banana peppers and sundried tomatoes), and tasted great as usual. my gf had the linguine con frutti di mare (seafood pasta), and the seafood had good flavors and blended in nicely with spices. however, i had the pollo appolonia (chicken breast with seafood and fusili pasta), and the three cheese sauce on the pasta was so salty!! for dessert, i had the tiramisu as i always do. the best place of therestaurantis the patio, and it was packed on a cold evening.

overall, this place is a great place for a date, family dinner, or any anniversary occasion. the food and service were great despite some setbacks on the food quality on a typical busy evening. the portion was big as we could barely finish our main dishes. however, i do agree with other reviews that some bottle wines seem to be overpriced. we only had 2 glasses of wine and 1 glass of cocktail, so this issue didnt bother me much. although this high-end italianrestaurantis not as good as the middle high end italian restaurants of hong kong, this is the place to go if you want to enjoy a romantic atmosphere with great service.

a trip to victoria is never complete without dinner at il terrazzo. it is an all around 5 star experience! the attentive and genuine staff, the great ambiance, the inventive cocktails and skillfully selected wine list, the quality and deliciousness of the dishes are all second to none. i’m always impressed with my whole experience - every detail is impeccably orchestrated into the best meal ever. and the food, awesome. such good value for money too with impressive portions which is unexpected for arestaurantof this calibre. can’t wait to go back. just book a table. you’ll thank me later!

beautiful restourant & if you get a patio seating then consider yourself very lucky. the wholerestauranthas great ambience. servers are knowledgeable and very pleasant. huge wine selection. we ordered the tuna steak as well as the veal -👍👍.

i've had a few memorable meals here including one of the best steaks i've eaten in victoria! some standard italian fare but i like some of their more adventurous menu items like game meats (elk/venison). beautifulrestaurantinside, especially if you sit by the fireplace. the wine menu is epic.

excellent food. pricey but of impeccable quality, care and attention. servers are professional and knowledgable. make a reservation as arguably most popularrestaurantin town - it's where the locals go! great place for a splurge and special occasion meal.

outstanding! year after year thisrestaurantnever fails to surprises me and they just keep getting better. it's always a bit of a struggle to get parking but once you're there it's all forgotten. the space itself has an old world charm with a contemporary twist, the staff are excellent and the service first class. if you are there at the right time and are seated on the patio it transports you to old world europe whilst still at home. i thought i had had everything on the menu but with seasonal choices it's always changing. the mussels are absolutely fabulous with a sinful sauce with banana peppers with just enough heat, you'll need extra bread to soak up every last drop. the roasted squash cannelloni is exquisite with an odd mixture of ingredients that seem to play off each other, i never would have thought about cilantro pesto but i'll have to try it at home. visiting or a local don't miss out on what i believe is the bestrestaurantin town. enjoy.

i came here with my husband last night for my birthday.
we were running almost half an hour late for our reservation and called to let them know. we were lucky enough to find a parking spot close by and walking up to the restaurant, it's extremely inviting and beautiful. we were seated right away without having to wait which was nice considering it was jam packed and we were late so that was appreciated.
we were sat in the 'outside' type area which is covered but looks like it's outside, it's absolutely gorgeous, real plants and flowers everywhere, heat lamps. nice lighting, really stunning. it was very loud in there i found, i think just because it really was busy and the tables were somewhat crowded together.
we were sat next to a fireplace which we could control so that was very romantic and a nice touch.

we had water right away and i then ordered a monte christo coffee which was very tasty and then a class of the riesling which was also very nice. my husband ordered an italian beer. the drinks selection is huge and many wines to choose from.

service was friendly and fast and we didn't feel bothered at all.
i ordered the seafood linguine and my husband ordered the cannelloni.
my pasta was perfectly cooked and had a great amount of seafood. the shrimp was incredible but the mussels had a slightly strange flavour. i order mussels a lot so i have a good idea of how they should taste and these were seemed a little different, it could have been the sauce combination though. it wasn't terrible but not quite to my taste. the scallops were all different sizes so were unevenly cooked.

my husbands cannelloni was delicious, it was like a curry/pasta fusion and i had a quick taste and liked it a lot, definitely worth a try.

the bread and tapenade they bought out was also really delicious and plentiful.

we ordered desserts which were very nicely presented, i had the creme brûlée which is my favourite dessert to begin with and this was a good one, so worth it, just perfect.
my husband had the flourless chocolate cake, i personally didn't like the coulis that came with it and the berries, too tart for my liking but the cake itself was tasty and rich and the ice cream was lovely.

overall therestaurantis so beautiful and service excellent, great for a date night or special occasion. id like to come back again when i'm in the victoria area (i live up mid island) id like to try some other items to have a good idea of the menu and quality of the food as i wasn't blown away.

we ate at thisrestauranton our 56th wedding anniversary. the overall atmosphere is interesting and the food was most excellent. service was always with a smile. their tapanade is so flavorful and delicious. we love roasted garlic but passed on this due to it not being conducive to a romantic evening. speaking of romantic....we do not recommend them if you are looking for a quiet, romantic evening. the tables are crammed so close together that we could not enjoy conversation with each other as we were bombarded on both sides with other people's conversation. to give you an idea....the waiter has a napkin hanging from his back pocket and when he was serving the table next to us it almost caught fire on our candle...fortunately i was able to grab the candle and move it before disaster struck. i was ready with my glass of water, just in case. in conclusion...if you are looking for friendly service and good food we recommend this place. if you are planning an evening for romance and tender conversation go somewhere else.

i have been to thisrestaurantthree times now and it never fails to impress! the atmosphere is amazing. the food and service and very top notch. therestaurantprobably boasts the best food i have ever tasted. i would highly recommend this restaurant!

garlic bread with olive dip. complimentary. very tasty and a good portion.

appetizers and mains also were extremely tasty and very large. usually, with high-dining restaurants, i expect smaller portions, but at il terrazzo, we were completely stuffed after one main and half an appetizer each.

good presentation too. price was reasonable. quality was very high.

service:
very good. waiter came around often and gave us suggestions. nothing to complain about.

will return again. would recommend 100%. make sure to book your reservation at least a few days in advance.

edit: returned again. still a perfect review. would recommend the margarita pizza. it is excellent!

if you like venison, theirs is outstanding.  the mussels are some of the best we've ever tasted and the portion is quite generous so they are perfect to share as a starter. if you can't decide on which dessert to get, the trio sampling is absolutely the way to go.  well priced and of course, perfect for sharing.  so far, have loved everything we've tried. servers have been attentive and accommodating.  well deserved reputation as the best italianrestaurantin victoria.  reserve early to avoid disappointment.
