i love the rustic feel at il terrazzo and the service is always superb. i had the seafood fetuccine and it had the most freshest seafood! the waitress said it was a spicy dish but i found it a little bland. could have used some salt. my husband however, really loved his dish.

best meal of my life. i went here once on a very boring date, and it took me a decade to go back. i couldn't be more happier! my uncle was in town and wanted to go somewhere nice, and so we made a reservation here. they are big wine drinkers and were very happy. i had 3 different cocktails and was also very happy with all three, just delicious. all the food was fantastic. my husband had the deer and raved about the cherries. i had the rack of lamb and it was to die for.

loved everything, atmosphere, service, food and will definitely recommend it and will go back.

a romantic italian eatery with an old world feel. pastas, meat dishes, seafood and delicious wood fire pizzas. ample portions, great service & an extensive wine list. a long time victoria favourite. bon appetito!

disappointed. so loud my husband and i could not even have a conversation. so hot in the room we became very uncomfortable. so busy that the waiter did not even come to ask if everything was satisfactory. it wasn't. will not be going back.

il terrazzo on urbanspoonil terrazo is hidden in an alley that can look a bit dodgy at night. you might then expect it to be a smallish place, but it is actually rather expansive, though the area behind the bar is quite tight, including a wine "cellar" accessed by a ladder.

best italian i've ever had. oh... oh goodness is this good. i love the atmosphere as well. the outside is lovely, and i rather like the sunroof patio. the food is just exquisite. it's obviously a splurge, but il terrazzo is well worth it. if you have a more modest budget like me, then it's a wonderful place to try for lunch, with very reasonable entrees at about $15, that are just as delicious.

il terrazzo is something you've got to try if you're in victoria.

as someone who moved to victoria from calgary, and frequents vancouver, i can say to the previous reviewer that their single bad experience shouldn't twist their view so much. this place is fantastic.

one of the most overrated restaurants in the city. i've been here a few times over the years, most recently the other night. the food has always been way too salty. my scaloppine the other night tasted like it had a half cup of salt poured on top. an otherwise good, albeit overpriced, dish ruined by sodium overkill.

we arrived without a reservation, thus were relegated to seating at the bar, and for a high end place like this, one would think they'd make an effort to ensure bar seating is more comfortable. the bar stools are too high, uncomfortable, rickety, very unpleasant for drinking or dining.

victoria diners seem too easily impressed, hence the mystifying rave reviews for this place. sure, it has a nice, romantic ambience, but the food is barely a step above short order quality. for real, authentic italian, skip this place and go to zambri's.

italian excellence. we visited this restaurant solely on the reccomendation of a couple of fellow guests at our hotel - it of course looked good too! nice slightly hidden location, great ambience and a good selection of dishes on the menu.

the food and service were excellent and the waiters, sorry server's knowledge of their excellent wine list was an enourmous help to myself as i have a good knowledge of aussie wines and some experience with bc wines but little with 'old world' wines!

both our kids (14 and 11) did an excellent job of attacking dishes from the standard menu as did their older dining companions. deserts and after dinner drinks rounded out the evening quite nicely.

a more expensive restaurant but the pricing was in line with the service and quality. i am quite happy to recommend il terrazzo and would eat there again - although it may be a while till i'm back in victoria - my previous visits being in 1986!

exquisite. this is one of the few restaurants in town where i have nothing but good things to say. the food and service has never been disappointing. one server in particular, an older gentlemen, is my favourite and always makes sure my group and i have a good dining experience. he is so knowledgeable in the food and drink menu (wine!). i have never come across another server who is so attentive (without being annoying) and can really give you suggestions on what to eat. top notch italian food!

sub-par. the best part of my meal was the bread basket. while the ambiance is beautiful and the service is good, the food is far below where it should be for il terrazzo's price point. overpriced, overcooked, and poorly seasoned seems to be their motto. this is old school "fancy" food - the restaurant slaps a $25 price on a meal, serves more than anyone needs to eat, and makes a wicked profit in the process. there must have been half a block of cheese on my chewy pizza. and the seafood pasta was worse than what i can whip up at home in ten minutes. with so many wonderful places to eat in victoria, i will be saving my meals out for more worthwhile dining experiences.

i should also mention that while the server was friendly, the timing was horrible. we had our mains within minutes - i can't imagine how much prep was done in advance. seems unlikely much of our meal was fresh. such a waste of a beautiful space!
