bland. monday night dinner for 2. ordered the linguini chickenpastaand meatball pizza.
lovely environment, good service.
food was bland - nothing that set it apart from any other pizza place. same for the pasta. given the rating and the hype, left disappointed.

always enjoyable. we brought our friends to il terrazzo as they are looking for a fine dining experience with amazing atmosphere and ambiance. we all liked the fantastic atmosphere, even though it was packed on a saturday evening. our server was great as he was friendly, and suggested lots of good choices for my friends who are coming to il terrazzo for the first time. the cozze (steam mussels) was great as usual, and the ingredients blend in nicely. in general, the food was not as good as before; perhaps the kitchen had a busy night. the rack of lamb (carre d'agnello) does not have enough flavor, and lacks presentation. the seafoodpastais decent, with generous and fresh ingredients. the grilled chicken breast and halibut (filletto d'halibut) were grilled nicely, though the taste were also average. i do not like the three cheese sauce on thepastaas it does not taste good and go well with the halibut. although my friends are too full for dessert, i always save my stomach for the tiramisu, which is the star of the dessert menu. overall, we had an enjoyable evening as a result of the fantastic atmosphere, and attentive service. i think the quality of the food has declined a little bit, and the quality and the presentation of the food might not fit into the fine dining category.

nice romantic spot, excellent food and service. although i have read some poor reviews about the food and service of il terrazzo, i felt the service was always excellent everytime i go there. the server was very friendly, and it is the second time that he served us. last night was no different, the sevice was great on a busy friday evening; the food has some ups and downs.

we had the cozze (steam mussels with banana peppers and sundried tomatoes), and tasted great as usual. my gf had the linguine con frutti di mare (seafood pasta), and the seafood had good flavors and blended in nicely with spices. however, i had the pollo appolonia (chicken breast with seafood and fusili pasta), and the three cheese sauce on thepastawas so salty!! for dessert, i had the tiramisu as i always do. the best place of the restaurant is the patio, and it was packed on a cold evening.

overall, this place is a great place for a date, family dinner, or any anniversary occasion. the food and service were great despite some setbacks on the food quality on a typical busy evening. the portion was big as we could barely finish our main dishes. however, i do agree with other reviews that some bottle wines seem to be overpriced. we only had 2 glasses of wine and 1 glass of cocktail, so this issue didnt bother me much. although this high-end italian restaurant is not as good as the middle high end italian restaurants of hong kong, this is the place to go if you want to enjoy a romantic atmosphere with great service.

went to mill bay for a wedding so i decided to take an extra day off to spend more time on the island. my coworker recommended this place to me for theirpastaand since i'm a sucker forpastai have to check this place out. we ordered the portabello mushroom salad, crusted ahi tuna with cheese stuffed tonno (a kind of pasta), and thepastamarco polo. we started with some warm bread with a great dip that contains minced olives in olive oil. the salad was by far the best warm salad i've ever have. the portabello mushroom was cut into thin slices then deep fried, along with generous amount of prosciutto and pine nuts. then came the ahi tuna and pasta. again a generous piece of fresh ahi tuna with a coconut based sauce to balance off the 'fish' taste. all the vegetables that came with that dish were all very refreshing. finally the pasta, i like how they have some mango chunks so the sweetness and sourness made thepastasauce less heavy. i would definitely recommend il terrazzo.

if a plane ticket to italy is not something you want to pay for but you still want a chance to try out the food, then this is the place to go. just taking a step into this establishment felt like the world outside vanished and i was welcomed into this new world i was about to experience. the server was busy but was still attentive and took care of me well (thank you by the way). thepastai had was amazing! i was awestruck by its taste and quality! there are only a few places i've hadpastaat that made go "amazing" under my breath when took the first bite and this is one of them. would i recommend? highly!

i just went here for the first time with my boyfriend and we were blown away! we had reservations for 7:45 and were seated at 7:40. had our drinks, bread and orders taken within minutes and had our food 10 minutes later. the food was phenomenal (the bestpastawe both ever had) and were full, happy and satisfied customers ready for our bill by 8 (we were too full for dessert). the best service, food and timeliness we have ever experienced. this place deliveries in every aspect!

i came here with my husband last night for my birthday.
we were running almost half an hour late for our reservation and called to let them know. we were lucky enough to find a parking spot close by and walking up to the restaurant, it's extremely inviting and beautiful. we were seated right away without having to wait which was nice considering it was jam packed and we were late so that was appreciated.
we were sat in the 'outside' type area which is covered but looks like it's outside, it's absolutely gorgeous, real plants and flowers everywhere, heat lamps. nice lighting, really stunning. it was very loud in there i found, i think just because it really was busy and the tables were somewhat crowded together.
we were sat next to a fireplace which we could control so that was very romantic and a nice touch.

we had water right away and i then ordered a monte christo coffee which was very tasty and then a class of the riesling which was also very nice. my husband ordered an italian beer. the drinks selection is huge and many wines to choose from.

service was friendly and fast and we didn't feel bothered at all.
i ordered the seafood linguine and my husband ordered the cannelloni.
mypastawas perfectly cooked and had a great amount of seafood. the shrimp was incredible but the mussels had a slightly strange flavour. i order mussels a lot so i have a good idea of how they should taste and these were seemed a little different, it could have been the sauce combination though. it wasn't terrible but not quite to my taste. the scallops were all different sizes so were unevenly cooked.

my husbands cannelloni was delicious, it was like a curry/pasta fusion and i had a quick taste and liked it a lot, definitely worth a try.

the bread and tapenade they bought out was also really delicious and plentiful.

we ordered desserts which were very nicely presented, i had the creme brûlée which is my favourite dessert to begin with and this was a good one, so worth it, just perfect.
my husband had the flourless chocolate cake, i personally didn't like the coulis that came with it and the berries, too tart for my liking but the cake itself was tasty and rich and the ice cream was lovely.

overall the restaurant is so beautiful and service excellent, great for a date night or special occasion. id like to come back again when i'm in the victoria area (i live up mid island) id like to try some other items to have a good idea of the menu and quality of the food as i wasn't blown away.

really great restaurant-good for a once in a while visit! fast, efficient, and awesome service. food came surprisingly fast:) we were served bread before the dishes came and the housemate olive sauce that came along was fantastic! we ordered seafood linguine, cannelloni with pulled pork and braised beef. they all tasted fabulous. the ambiance is one of the best i've seen. the only thing was i got a little sick of the carnelloni at the end since the portion was too big for me and the sauce was almost too tasteful- sometimes i just get tired of savourypastasauce. it was a heavy meal.

great place for lunch. i had my work xmas party lunch here and it was excellent. i don't usually go to italian restaurants because i eat a lot ofpastaat home, and yes i know it's different but still. anyway, i had the risotto and it was delicious. everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the appetizers and drinks and desserts were great as well.

wonderful. cosy ambience, attentive service, excellent wine selection and the food? - delicious! this restaurant is consistent in always making our dining experience excellent. we started with formaggio di capra as our starter and i could have ordered another as my entree - creamy goat cheese with crunchy toasted hazelnuts over fresh greens, with a port and pear dressing which makes for a fabulous pairing. the fettucine marco polo is a must try - chicken, mango, fresh basil in a lemon cream sauce. so full of fresh pronounced flavours. we also ordered the filita d'halibut and it was amazing. the halibut tasted so fresh,, but it was the addition of the blackberry green peppercorn balsamic reduction to thispastadish that made it for me. devine! this kitchen knows how to balance its flavours and seasonings very well. and dessert? there is obviously a pastry chef in the house. we had the ciocollato torta - a rich flour less chocolate cake with a hint of orange balanced by a sour cherry sauce. a perfect end to a memorable meal. one of our favourite italian restaurants - and we have tried many around the world.

poor service and tourist trap. olive tapenade 4/5 - came with the hotter-than-room-temp bread. this is the only one of the two items that i miss from the dinner. too bad they don't sell this.
fisherman’s soup (black tiger prawns, halibut and mussels in tomato broth with peppers, artichokes, fennel seed, chili flakes, white wine and cilantro) 4/5 $13 - this is the 2nd item that i miss. it tasted more like a thai soup. it didn't came with a lot of ingredients: 1 pieces of prawn, 2 mussels and maybe 4-5 pieces of halibut, and some diced tomatoes.
insalata caesar (crisp romaine lettuce with traditional caesar dressing, shaved parmigiano reggiano and house-made croutons) $9 3/5 - fresh romaine but boring. didn't ask if we want any fresh ground pepper or fresh parmesan cheese.
carne pizza (blackened chicken, italian sausage, spicy genoa salami finished with fresh arugula and shaved parmesan) $17 3/5 - the crust was not that thin. didn't recall it had many pieces chicken.
fettucine marco polo (grilled chicken breast, toasted cashews, mango, fresh basil and pimentos in a lemon cream sauce) $21 3.5/5 - i liked this better than the filetto d'alibut. the fettucine was not as hard as the fusillipasta(i don't mind it being a little bit more al dente). i enjoyed the tangy mango sauce. perfect for summer.
filetto d'alibut (fresh local halibut baked with a blackberry green peppercorn, balsamic reduction. topped with asiago cheese and served on three cheese fusilli pasta) $27 3/5 - i had high hopes of this dish after reading some reviews but it was a total disappointment. presentation was okay and it looked like a steak when it arrived. mushroom sauce on a piece of overcooked halibut. i couldn't taste any of the blackberry green peppercorn balsamic reduction and the three cheese fusilli pasta. thepastajust tasted the regular.

service 1.5/5 - very poor service. our server steve never came back to check on our food. he did not ask if we want any fresh ground pepper and/or parmesan cheese (where the other tables got served). at the end he kicked us out by dropping off the bill after entree without asking if we want any dessert or coffee. there wasn't even a lineup at the door. i'm giving it something because we got some bread. portions are bigger than expected but more like a tourist trap to me. the restaurant was loud and it reminded me of the upscaled version of the old spaghetti factory. there are better choices in victoria. not planning to come back anytime soon.

sub-par. the best part of my meal was the bread basket. while the ambiance is beautiful and the service is good, the food is far below where it should be for il terrazzo's price point. overpriced, overcooked, and poorly seasoned seems to be their motto. this is old school "fancy" food - the restaurant slaps a $25 price on a meal, serves more than anyone needs to eat, and makes a wicked profit in the process. there must have been half a block of cheese on my chewy pizza. and the seafoodpastawas worse than what i can whip up at home in ten minutes. with so many wonderful places to eat in victoria, i will be saving my meals out for more worthwhile dining experiences.

i should also mention that while the server was friendly, the timing was horrible. we had our mains within minutes - i can't imagine how much prep was done in advance. seems unlikely much of our meal was fresh. such a waste of a beautiful space!

great experience. on a fine sunday evening my sister and i went to il terrazzo. we had been wanting to go to this restaurant for some time. the food did not disappoint. for starters, we had to bread, which was lightly seasoned and buttered to perfection. we tried our best not to devour the basket, but by the end of the night, our willpower evaded us. for an appetizer, we shared the mussels. wow. our waiter, upon serving them to us, commented on their tastiness and he was not wrong.

now, the entrees. i ordered the cannelloni maiale, which perfectly matched the creaminess of thepastawith the apple sauce that accompanied it. for dessert we shared the tiramisu. my sister felt it was slightly too runny, but i felt it was delicious as it was. the combination of the ambience and the fine fare put us in good spirits and i believe that this is a dining experience i will want to repeat sometime in the near future.

after ordering all of this food, i opted out of eating my entire entree. however, the person who packed my food neglected to add in the apple sauce for the cannelloni. what the heck, dude? what am i going to do with this cannelloni? i will continue to mourn this apple sauce. seriously, i was so excited. what am i going to do now...

never mind i found it. yum yum yum
