came here as a trio, waited for about 10 minutes for a table during busy brunch hours, didn't realise the cafe was spaced out to the back. service was exceptional and the ambience was very trendy, the food was delicious and drinks were up to scratch 😋 looking forward to coming back soon!!

it did live up to the reviews. i went with a couple of friends in the morning and it was such a nice experience. the service was super welcoming and they personally tried to have a nice genuine conversation which was sweet and friendly. we had ordered the panna cotta, salmon and monkey which everyone enjoyed their individual dishes. i personally had the salmon with an extra poached egg and it was really filling. i thoroughly enjoyed it. the music they played was also enjoyable and the setout of the cafe was quite aesthetic for all my fellow instagrammers 😊

the crabmeat scramble is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
the chillis and sriracha mayo(?) brings the taste to another level.
the matcha latte on the other hand is pretty average...too milky. will try thai milk tea next time.

been here before for food and i’ve always enjoyed it. went here the second time and i tried i the thai milk tea and bingsu but they’re only so-so for me. food is always amazing.

the food is quite consistent in terms of serving size and taste. i normally order the "egg benny": 2 slices of pork belly served on a japanese-style potato croquette. my friends had ordered "mushroom on toast" and "super salmon salad" - the former is vegan-friendly, and the latter for anyone after some healthy clean-eating!

bear in mind, they don't do reservations for the weekend, so best to queue up in advance. just make sure you have something to occupy yourself with as waiting time can take around 25-30 mins - especially with covid restrictions in place. quite a lot of weekend street parking spots nearby unimelb if you come early (just take note of parking restrictions/fees etc).

overall, friendly service and delicious food and drinks!

the coffee is terrible. the food does not worth the money. they changed the menu there are less dishes left now. can’t figure out why the score is this high. definitely not recommend.

hojicha latte is amazing and it's not usually in cafe; had a crabmeat scramble eat & porkbelly beny, both yum with their special sauce, i would love to try all their sweet, but my tummy not allow me, so we picked peanut butter ice-cream hk waffle with caramel banana🍌🥜🍨 we didn't regret it. the caramel glazed banana was so good

you know a place is good when people have lined up to get a table. the food was well worth the wait. we ordered the red velvet skookie, scrambled chilli crab and pork belly - all were scrumptious!

went today and ordered the crab meat scrambled over croissant with my boyfriend ordering the same plus a poached egg. they ran out of croissants and replaced it with sourdough instand. it took over 30 mins for the food to come (its tuesday at 2.30pm it wasnt busy. and the couple before us ate and left before we even got our coffees) and it was lukewarm and my partner said his poached egg was cold like it was sitting on the bench for ages. disappointing.

one of the best brunch place in melbourne!!!
i’ve brought family and friends here many times, recommend to friends who were visiting melbourne and every single one of them loved their duck congee and crab meat scramble!

my top favorites from humble rays:
- duck congee
- crab meat scramble
- thai milk tea bingsu

their food quality is superb, very consistent and delicious. i can never get sick of brunching here even though i always order the 3 same things!😂 great selection of drinks- my friends and my dad loooove their coffee, but i’m not really a coffee drinker (i know its illegal not to be in melb😭) but hey their hojicha / thai milk tea is really good too! service here is great even though cafe is very busy.

one thing though, they always have a massive queue and i don’t think they take bookings, so get there real early!!!

lovely brunch cafe in carlton near melbourne uni, is quite big and spacious even with covid restrictions. was seated within about 20 mins in the queue. you can also book online thru their phone number. they have a qr code for covid check in which is a sign they're following the restrictions. waiters and waitress are very friendly and accommodating to us. i had the wagyu burger, it was a bit rich but the burger was cooked medium to my liking. they have some merchandise for sale too like some dog treats, caps and shirts for humans and some masks. lovely atmosphere and deco in the cafe
