humble rays

as this is on so many must try lists in melbourne it was somewhere we had to go. it’s so popular there’s usually a line to get in, always agoodsign. we didn’t have to wait very long for a table, the menu and ordering is through an app which is convenient. varied menu with lots of different options from traditional to more creative choices. the chilli crab scramble something i’d heard was a must try and did not disappoint, my partner got the big breakfast which other than the bread which was very hard as it had been toasted, everything was delicious. i didn’t enjoy the iced thai milk tea but i like everything very sweet so that may just be my personal taste. definitely somewhere to try if you’re in melbourne!

we arrived on a saturday afternoon, around 12 and the line was massive. round 6-7 groups were waiting before us. it took around 20min for us to get a table, which is still quick for me considering the long line.
blue is the main color for the shop, looks really fresh and modern. items in menu are fusion asian. we ordered crab scrambled egg and french toast forever. the serving was huge and the decoration is really impressive.

scrambled egg was creamy and delicious, well-combined with siracha mayo. crossant is my favorite so cant go wrong with that.

french toast is stuffed with cream cheese, served with generous amount of fresh fruit: fig, berries, banana and grapes.

we were so full that we couldnt finish the toast but it was a reallygoodbrunch, totally worth it.
the only drawback is the long wait, the line was the same after we finished which was around 2. if you dont mind the long wait, i highly recommend this place

my friend visited me from overseas, i took her to here!!! the cafe decoration is very innovative! love their feature walls. food is prettygoodtoo.

a reallygoodbrunch spot that has really got the fusion aspect down pat to differentiate itself from the numerous other brunch places around melbourne. food was yummy and aesthetic.

honestly just ok. might have been the food i picked but the dancing belly wasgoodfor what it is. the egg made it so much better but i didn't like the banana. the bingsu could've had more toppings and the thai flavour wasn't strong.

you know a place isgoodwhen people have lined up to get a table. the food was well worth the wait. we ordered the red velvet skookie, scrambled chilli crab and pork belly - all were scrumptious!

i’ve brought family and friends here many times, recommend to friends who were visiting melbourne and every single one of them loved their duck congee and crab meat scramble!

their food quality is superb, very consistent and delicious. i can never get sick of brunching here even though i always order the 3 same things!😂 great selection of drinks- my friends and my dad loooove their coffee, but i’m not really a coffee drinker (i know its illegal not to be in melb😭) but hey their hojicha / thai milk tea is reallygoodtoo! service here is great even though cafe is very busy.

one thing though, they always have a massive queue and i don’t think they take bookings, so get there real early!!!

📝: supporting one of my favorite local cafes. they’re also doing free delivery for deliveries within a kilometer. andgoodnews, there’s no need to queue in line for anymore when you’re craving for humble rays.

❤️: if you’re a chili fiend, you cannot miss the cumin lamb. minced xin jiang cumin lamb, fried egg, green beans fried shallots, chili oil, asian herbs, onion, on steamed quinoa and jasmine rice.

the service was really friendly and quick response. but wait for the table and the food took quite a while. over it was agoodexperience just not sure i would be keen to wait 30 mins for a table and another 30 mins for food again.

nice place,gooddecor and friendly service. however, dont find the food extremely satisfying. its presented well though.

everything wasgoodbut we had to wait outside for 20mins under the sun. croissant was ofgoodtaste and the eggs were delicious. drinks weregoodand beautiful!

came here for breakfast this morning. such a cute place. we got eggs and bacon with a side of greens which was delicious and the french toast recommended by the staff. both were delicious. the coffee and chair latte was also really good. it’s so hard to get agoodchair latte. definitely worth its high rating!

great spot for brunch. better get there early or be prepared to queue a little. cute interior. staff were really friendly and helpful.goodprice considering the size of the portions. i'd definitely come back.

had to queue for about 15 minutes even-though it was only for myself. had the wagyu beef burger and it was great. the beef patty wasn’t the best but it was still good. however, the sauce made the burger was tasted impeccable. ordered the chai latte as well and it wasgoodenough. agoodplace for brunch indeed.

ordered: roasted pumpkin with broccolini/beans/ vinaigrette ($19.50) and salmon super salad ($20.50). i loved the pumpkin dish, it was simple but the veggies were all cooked perfectly. the broccolini was grilled giving the dish a nuttiness and the roasted pumpkin worked perfectly with its sweet starchiness. the salmon dish also looked bomb. this is a really nice and bright cafe with lots of seating available sogoodfor large groups. also free coffee refills... need i say more?
