this is a great place to go with fine service and splendid dishes. i ordered mango & passionfruit soda and duck congee. highly recommended! one of the best brunch in melbourne!

the best dish here would the meat scramble, really fresh lobster meat with the perfect scrambled eggs in addition to a croissant. really fresh ingredients and would recommend coming earlier to avoid long queues.

quiet on a friday morning. 8:30 friday morning was perfect, it was even pretty empty when i left at 9:30. this cafe is really pretty, fresh, and welcoming. i ordered the vanilla cream cheese french toast and it was very nice, definitely not as sweet as i was expecting. the vanilla cream cheese was more on the cheesy side, quite savoury.. but together with all the fruit and fairy floss it was perfect. the coffee was nice and hot, and a little stronger than a starbucks latte. i really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely go back.

when we arrive the staffs are very friendly to serve us. we ordered soy latte and mocha, and mushrooms on toast. when the coffees came it is so good we love it! same as the toast mushroom, we share the food and kept us full! no wonder the reviews are very high in here, but it is worth it. definetly come back!

easily the best brunch place in melbourne. no matter what day of the week, there is a line but from my experience, the line always moves quickly. the place may look small from the outside, but obstructed from view is more seating at the back of the restaurant.

this time, we came at 11am on a wednesday and lined up for 15-20 minutes before being seated.

we ordered:
2 x matcha lattes (as usual)
1 x mushroom on toast with a poached egg
1 x panna cotta granola

the humble rays matcha latte has to be my absolute favourite matcha latte at any brunch place in melbourne. it's rich in matcha flavour but with the perfect amount of sweetness and i have to say i look forward to this flawless matcha latte more than i do the food every visit!

the mushroom on toast was a very well-balanced dish, though not as easy on the eyes as the panna cotta granola. the mushrooms were juicy and well-complemented by the cream sauce and truffle oil. the egg was perfectly poached, and the sourdough toast was easy to cut through (a very rare occurrence for sourdough toast). to add more texture to the dish, seasoned shitake crisps and rocket were also present. though heavy-sounding, it wasn't a struggle to eat- just enjoyable, and i felt well-fed but in a good way upon finishing.

onto the panna cotta granola, which is my boyfriend's regular order. consistent with all of our previous visits, it was colourful and tasty- the crunchiness of the granola, sweetness of the fruits and granola made it a sensory experience to say the least.

and of course, the staff deserve their credit as well! humble rays never fails to provide friendly and attentive service, consistently delicious coffee, and care into their food. this restaurant is our go-to when we feel like having brunch that we can rely on to be an all-around good experience. ^_^

there’s always queue in front of the place but we’re not wait for long. delicious food, generous size and quite quick service

staff: they were patient and attentive. helped with menu suggestions and offered alternatives.

food: serving time was pretty fast for time of day (mind you i went in just before the morning rush). food and drinks was delicious and fairly priced.

will definitely come back again!

the guy at the door was rude when taking names on the wait list. understand it is busy weekend but could improve.

10/10 best brunch place in melbourne.
but before you, prepare to wait in a massive line on weekends (unless to you rock up at opening)... we waited around 45mins and the line was still there!

the hojicha latte is to die for but then again so is everything else we ordered. they have really generous portion sizes so go in hungry!

humble rays is such a popular brunch spot in melbourne. i can tell straight away when i saw the long longg queue in front of the cafe on a rainy & windy saturday 😌

i like their food, kind of asian fusion to australian brunch dishes. i & my friend shared egg benny & fried chicken burger. both live up to our expectation - the right balance of everything.

their matcha latte is stronger than other places but suits my taste so much. if you’re a big fan of matcha, don’t miss this latte!

i wouldn’t recommend coffee here as it tastes awful and it’s not a proper latte art (see pic for ref haha).

overall, it is worth trying once but not again considering the one-hour wait 🙄

is soooo popular place in carlton. every time i cross the restaurant see there has a long queue...and no surprise for me to waiting 1 and half hours,especially on weekend. but is worth to do that. very tasty food and coffee.

my mate and i had to wait for about 30 minutes to get in on a weekday in the uni holidays but the wait was more than justified. the food was sensational. we had the platter for two and i also had a soy cappuccino. both were really good. the platter was well varied and tasted really fresh. i particularly enjoyed the beef benedict, which was deliciously moist and tasty, and the panna cotta which i find myself regularly craving. the price was fairly reasonable, although could be a couple of dollars cheaper. the service was also extremely friendly, and i enjoyed the relaxed ambience. if you love brunch, then this establishment is a must visit!

honestly, not worth the hype. food was mediocre, not to mention the 1 hour wait time. thai milk tea tasted like someone poured a whole bag of sugar in one cup and everything else were just average. you could easily find replacement that offers better dishes and seatings in melbourne. don’t waste your money and time.

always seem to walk here and see a big line and checked what the fuss is about and stopped to give it a try. excellent customer service, very colourful meals, decent size for the price which is great. food is very tasty and fresh, the desserts were very good. enjoyed all of the meals hope it stays that way for a long time.

the food is good and nice, but it was a very long wait on this friday. i ordered the cumin lamb, i really love that taste, and i also ordered jack rose for drink, the drink is ok, but no surprise to me.
