i use to love hanumanthu biryani 5 years back but now am very disappointed as they have compromised the taste and that’s a shame. please don’t compromise with the taste as it is mysore’s gem of a hotel

crazy early morning ride for breakfast at hotel hanumanthu in new meteor 350😍😍
.
was it worth- ya man
.
oh wait how many original hanumanthu 1930 are there 😅😅
.
most items - sold out
ordered mutton pulav with some soup and mutton korma😋😋😋
.
coming to the pulav, it is not high on spice but that naati sogad from both spices and mutton add that depth of flavor, the pepperiness and squeeze of lemon is just 👌
.
the gravy with the pulav was bit burnt instead of the smoky flavor, negative to this 🙄
.
the soup was very aromatic with some ginger may be dried and cinnamonny, its a yes☺️☺️
.
how good was that mutton korma, richness from the mutton broth and i gt tomato flavor not sure if thy hav put tomato puree, nice balance of flavors though 👍👍

we landed up here yesterday for brunch and it was all totally totally worth the hype. first off, since parking is impossible here especially for a four wheeler, we parked our car elsewhere and took an ola auto, the driver took us to a different hanumanthu, and then again another one before we got here, so beware, plenty of other hanumanthus in the area, look at the pictures to know the original one or use google maps. coming to food, luckily, 11am seems to a great time to get here, relatively empty, we got a seat easily. our server informed us that they had mutton palav, chops, liver fry, boti etc. we ordered their palav, chops and liver fry. luckily ordered only one plate of palav because wow, their portion size is enormous, 3 of us ate from one portion and couldn't finish it all. the palav is delicious, hands down, it was served hot, it wasn't overly spicy, just perfect. the chops were soft, falling off the bone, the liver was also fried perfectly. couldn't be happier with the place. so we got a whole bunch packed as well haha, sorted for atleast 3-4 meals. with around 6-7 plates of food, the bill was around ₹1200, totally worth it.

food: 5/5
service: 4.5/5
ambience ( as expected, pls don't expect grandeur)
value for money: 5/5

finally got to visit this place with an impromptu mysore plan. was super hungry and tired after travelling mysore by walking. i am usually not a fan of this style of biryani, but was willing to give it a try after hearing from so many. was not disappointed. the mutton pulav was simple an delicious. meat pieces were more than satisfactory. we took half a plate of chicken kebab. price is justified.

after years of hearing stories about how good this place is and how the who’s who of the state and being have patronised it, not just off but on screen as well, finally got to visit this place. beware of the fraud establishment with the same name on the street right next to this place, it just isn’t the same. the weekday menu was weak, with just biryani and three sides (mutton and chicken chops, and mutton kurma) on offer. the biryani isn’t anything exceptional to speak about (surprise!) and it tasted a bit like paradise biryani, only better over all. the quality is just unbelievable! it can easily serve two normal people and i was out of breath by the time i finished it. the meat was cooked really tender and the quantity deserves a serving mention, cause that’s how much food is served per serving. the spicy chicken chops was a very good accomplice to the subtly flavoured rice and was more of a match to it than the mosru bajji. over all, worth a visit for the legend that the place is, have had better biryani with much less hype in many places. an extra star only for the great wait staff.

i am a vegetarian, accompanied my friend to this place for dinner one day.. he ordered the mutton pulao .. once i saw the quantity, i wasn't sure if he would be able to finish it. but he was carried away by the taste and the juicy and tender meat, which made him crave for more and he ate the whole thing.. as it is described by my friend, he loved the dish.. he also was like this was the best till date he had..

dont expect much of an ambience here, visit just for the taste and quality..

the review is completely based on my friend's taste buds and my love for food. (no influence)...

thank you 🙏

finally got to taste the famously talked about pulav in mysore... the one & only original hotel hanumanthu. usually i go on hunt with a carnivore gang but on this sunday due to bus breakdown in mysore enroute to coorg, a spontaneous plan for an early morning breakfast. breakdown was a blessing in disguise though.
ordered half mutton pulav, 1 leg soup, 1 mutton chops & brain fry. pulav was average & a bit bland to my liking. would have preferred it spicy.
mutton chaaps & leg soup was amazingly tasty, loaded with lots of pepper the taste was tantalizingly delicious.
not so hard on your pocket, a good vfm hotel.
ambience is neat & clean after renovation and service is quick. a big shout out to the guy who served me 😃😃 .
