how lucky i am to gorge on this legendary biryani for breakfast on saturday! yes, you heard me right. it was all possible because of bengaluru biryani club which exclusively organised a breakfast here for their members.

usually they open their doors from noon. hotel hanumanthu is the oldest and finest hotels for non veg items. mutton pulav, mutton chops, mutton kheema are the favourites. they are cooked in firewood which makes it unique.

their mutton pulav is to die for! one should experience to know it! it has the right blend of spices and flavour. they have succulent meat pieces in it.
mutton chops is tad spicy but the taste is brilliant!chickenkebab is crispy and one of the best i have ate!

visit to mysuru is incomplete without eating this biryani. there are many outlets all over mysuru now run by the family. the consistent taste is what makes you come back for more!

over hyped!
taste: pathetic
cost: too much  (prices have increased and not same as the menu shown here)
quality: you might as well puke if you had a look in the kitchen.
quantity: very filling
items tried: mutton palav, chickenpalav, boti curry, chickenfry.

writing this review after trying their food twice. definitely can miss this. rrr serves better food at almost the same cost with better taste and quality.

we visited this place for lunch yesterday. the place was crowded as hell and there is a very good reason for that. we ordered the mutton palavo as thechickenpalavo was over. we also ordered the mutton liver which was awesome. forget the ambiance, the crowd, the service. the food is what we came for and the food is what we enjoyed.

finally got to visit this place with an impromptu mysore plan. was super hungry and tired after travelling mysore by walking. i am usually not a fan of this style of biryani, but was willing to give it a try after hearing from so many. was not disappointed. the mutton pulav was simple an delicious. meat pieces were more than satisfactory. we took half a plate ofchickenkebab. price is justified.

after years of hearing stories about how good this place is and how the who’s who of the state and being have patronised it, not just off but on screen as well, finally got to visit this place. beware of the fraud establishment with the same name on the street right next to this place, it just isn’t the same. the weekday menu was weak, with just biryani and three sides (mutton andchickenchops, and mutton kurma) on offer. the biryani isn’t anything exceptional to speak about (surprise!) and it tasted a bit like paradise biryani, only better over all. the quality is just unbelievable! it can easily serve two normal people and i was out of breath by the time i finished it. the meat was cooked really tender and the quantity deserves a serving mention, cause that’s how much food is served per serving. the spicychickenchops was a very good accomplice to the subtly flavoured rice and was more of a match to it than the mosru bajji. over all, worth a visit for the legend that the place is, have had better biryani with much less hype in many places. an extra star only for the great wait staff.

this place has a very limited menu and mostly all mutton dishes.
we ordered mutton pulav, mutton chops andchickenkabab. coming from bengaluru we found the mutton pulav to be extremely mild in terms of spice and flavours. but the mutton was very well cooked and the soup/gravy they serve with it is quiet spicy. the chops was really nice and kabab (onlychickendish served here) was good too.

enticing!

we had been here for lunch on a sunday afternoon. fortunately we could get a table within few mins.

we ordered mutton palav, mutton chops andchickenkebabs in half portions. hands down to mutton palav. it’s so flavorful and tasty, we ordered for another half palav. anytime for the mutton palav. thechickenkebab was delicious too. i enjoyed the heavy meat lunch every bit here. if you’re passing by mysore next time, then don’t forget to visit this place.

one amazing outlet for biryani lovers. i travelled all the way from coorg to mysuru just to taste this biriyani. cooked with very lil spices and super hot rice was served. they spread a paper and served hot rice in a dried leaves that was different.
must trychickenchops (it's a kind of gravy we actually expected a dry dish)
