i want to tell you the actual and fraud that happened with us-
on my day visit to mysore, we all friends decided to visit hotel rrr which is located in mandi mohala.
but hotel rrr was too crowded and no space to stand.
as it was already 2:45 pm, we all are very hungry and wanted to havefoodbadly.
so one of my friend suggested hanumanthu palav and as we all are discussing and deciding our next move.
a person near by came to us and told that by this time no palav will be available and is bit difficult.
and he also informed that hotel owner is friends of his and he will guide us till hotel.

we all decided and followed him..
he took us to hotel hanumanthu only but it was not original.
this hotel is located backside of original one and he miss guided us.

we came to know this from one of the locals, but by the time we had our lunch.
andfoodwas disaster and not good..

we also found the original hotel..

i have captured photo of both original and fraud one.

friends beware of this kind of fraud with famous hotels in tourist places..

over hyped!
taste: pathetic
cost: too much  (prices have increased and not same as the menu shown here)
quality: you might as well puke if you had a look in the kitchen.
quantity: very filling
items tried: mutton palav, chicken palav, boti curry, chicken fry.

writing this review after trying theirfoodtwice. definitely can miss this. rrr serves betterfoodat almost the same cost with better taste and quality.

i came to know about this place a couple months go when i came to mysore. the mutton pulao that is served here is quite famous and have been even featured on multiplefoodchannels and a couple of forums and social media. so, i had my own expectations for this place.
one fine day, i with some of my friends visited the place for some mutton pulao, quite excited all of us!
well, it sucked, all of it. they charge 180 for full portion of it, and half serving comes for 150.
the rice had a weird sour taste to it and tasted nothing like any other pulao i have ever had, also, they served only 2 small pieces of mutton for it’s price of 180.

verdict : not recommended at all.

p.s. - there are 2 shops at the location situated roughly 150mts apart. they are both owned by the same people. just fyi.

peace. ✌🏻

we visited this place for lunch yesterday. the place was crowded as hell and there is a very good reason for that. we ordered the mutton palavo as the chicken palavo was over. we also ordered the mutton liver which was awesome. forget the ambiance, the crowd, the service. thefoodis what we came for and thefoodis what we enjoyed.

we got a take out from this place. although not many options thefoodwas pretty decent. try their chops. it has a very unique taste.
be ware of the multiple fake duplicates of same. better ask locals to know the authentic one.

after years of hearing stories about how good this place is and how the who’s who of the state and being have patronised it, not just off but on screen as well, finally got to visit this place. beware of the fraud establishment with the same name on the street right next to this place, it just isn’t the same. the weekday menu was weak, with just biryani and three sides (mutton and chicken chops, and mutton kurma) on offer. the biryani isn’t anything exceptional to speak about (surprise!) and it tasted a bit like paradise biryani, only better over all. the quality is just unbelievable! it can easily serve two normal people and i was out of breath by the time i finished it. the meat was cooked really tender and the quantity deserves a serving mention, cause that’s how muchfoodis served per serving. the spicy chicken chops was a very good accomplice to the subtly flavoured rice and was more of a match to it than the mosru bajji. over all, worth a visit for the legend that the place is, have had better biryani with much less hype in many places. an extra star only for the great wait staff.

i am writing the review after visiting the restaurant twice. the resto is famous for mutton pulav and chops. from my personal experience, i would say it's an overrated restaurant in the city. tried better pulav and chops in many other restaurants. i ain't giving a bad review.foodhere is decent. less spices added and they serve in leaf but it's not great. not a must try, might be it was years ago.

hotel hanumanthu is a legendary name when it comes to biryani or as they call it pulav. the place is on a busy road with little space so dont expect an ambiance. but thefoodis good. the pulav was very light and flavourful and the quantity was huge for the price. mutton chops went well with the pulav. i loved the way the serve the pulav. pricing is reasonable. serving deliciousfoodsince 1930.

this is probably one of the best places in india which makes any mutton-rice dish, be it biriyani or pulao... the eatery estabiliahed in 1930 officially and started way back in 1918 sincerely servesfoodwhich is so delightful that you will be compelled to visit again and again...

this is one of the over hyped biryani outlet.. i had heard it from my friends and wanted to try it for a long time.. i got a chance to visit this place but felt it was not worth the hype that has been created or heard.

i ordered mutton pulav and chicken kabab.. pulav was very ordinary similar to veg pulav you prepare at home (it tastes much better at home actually speaking)but with well cooked mutton pieces.. quantity was good but was served with spoiled(stale)raitha(mosru bajji) now chicken kabab was already prepared which was again heated in oil n served very oily n taste was mediocre..

1. quality and taste is very bad but quantity is good

2. hygiene of the place is not well maintained.waiter served it on the leaf which is torn and he kept the leaf directly on the table which was not clean..after telling him 2 times to serve it properly he put a news paper on the table worst attitude of waiters..water was not served even after asking multiple times..

3. raitha(mosru bajji) was spoiled and was stinking and when i complained about it to both server and cashier both were least bothered.

a humble request to zomato users and people traveling from bangalore or far of places;please do not over hype this place.. these guys don’t deserve the hype and advertising,as they are not customer friendly and alsofoodhere sucks..

these guys are relying on fame of their dad mr hanumantu, who was a good cook and served good biryani which was being appreciated and well received by people around ages ago..

now admin from this restaurant on zomato- dont tell me i went to another branch. i went to original branch #1720 ,akbar road, mandi mohalla, next to vishal bar and restaurant- mysore..

try to improve your quality and ensure you have good staff and improve the customer service.. you people will not have customers visiting with the current state of the restaurant.. pics of actors, politicians, news paper articles wont help you guys in near future.. wake up

final verdict not worth the crave or hype that is created.. i would not suggest this place to any one..

considering the fact i m a foodie and a very big fan of biryanis/pulav.. i would just rate their pulav a 2 star.. the hype this hotel has definitely not its worth.. the place is not very clean.. people wash their hand throw papers here and there..foodis also not very good.. i still believe hotel naveen in nazarbad serves the best pulav in mysore..
