the famous authenticmysorestyle mutton palav.
i have had heard about this very famous hanumanthu mutton palav, which made me to travel all the way from chikmagalur to mysore.

they are having two outlets in mandi mohalla itself,i was confused which one is the original. the one i entered first was already getting closed coz the palav got over there.
they said we have another outlet in the next cross.
it was looked after by their cousins they said.

we went their and ordered two mutton palav and mutton kurma.

the hotel walls were full of photo frames hanging.
the photos were of vip's who visited the hotel.
it also included the famous cricket player brett lee
some of my freinds say that they don't like the taste of hanumanthu palav.
coz they compare the taste with the normal biryaniii.
i don't think it should be. because there are some dishes which should be eaten the way they are.

palav had only the dalda taste!!! the rasam sent along with it was also bad. only saving grace was the kheema balls! they were good! one of the well known eatery inmysoreand quality has to seriously improve.

finally got to visit this place with an impromptumysoreplan. was super hungry and tired after travellingmysoreby walking. i am usually not a fan of this style of biryani, but was willing to give it a try after hearing from so many. was not disappointed. the mutton pulav was simple an delicious. meat pieces were more than satisfactory. we took half a plate of chicken kebab. price is justified.

finally got to taste the famously talked about pulav in mysore... the one & only original hotel hanumanthu. usually i go on hunt with a carnivore gang but on this sunday due to bus breakdown inmysoreenroute to coorg, a spontaneous plan for an early morning breakfast. breakdown was a blessing in disguise though.
ordered half mutton pulav, 1 leg soup, 1 mutton chops & brain fry. pulav was average & a bit bland to my liking. would have preferred it spicy.
mutton chaaps & leg soup was amazingly tasty, loaded with lots of pepper the taste was tantalizingly delicious.
not so hard on your pocket, a good vfm hotel.
ambience is neat & clean after renovation and service is quick. a big shout out to the guy who served me 😃😃 .

enticing!

we had been here for lunch on a sunday afternoon. fortunately we could get a table within few mins.

we ordered mutton palav, mutton chops and chicken kebabs in half portions. hands down to mutton palav. it’s so flavorful and tasty, we ordered for another half palav. anytime for the mutton palav. the chicken kebab was delicious too. i enjoyed the heavy meat lunch every bit here. if you’re passing bymysorenext time, then don’t forget to visit this place.

this hotel started in the 1930 & become very popular over a period of time for their taste of biryani & now there are 3 hanumanthu hotels inmysorewhich are operated by 3 different family members & all three places biryani taste different but this hotel still holds the taste of the traditional hanumanthu pulav. the biryani was very flavourful & the meat of the mutton was so soft that it was falling apart with just one tap. kaima balls were also perfectly made without much of flour added to it .
over all the experience was really gr8.

ps : nonveg means red
hotel hanumanthu means with red board

during my last visit tomysorei made sure i paid a visit to hanmantu hotel a legendary place that serves biriyani since 1930 for all the biriyani lovers in mysore. a legendary place it..
a small place tucked in busy streets of mandi mohalla and is a landmark on its own, they are known for there biriyani or pulav as they call it.
i visited during lunch hours and place was pretty much full and there were lot of folks and delivery people from under eats and zomato too waiting outside the hotel to pick up food. lucky enough i got a table quickly.
ordered a half mutton biriyani and mutton chops

what's best is the portion size that is served here. for 150 rupees a half plate of biriyani that fills you up to the brim!!
and taste!! it's just amazing a simple one not too oily nor overloaded with spices but the one that has a homely feel. loved the biriyani...
then mutton chops which normally a dry starter but in here it was moist and has a small amount of curry - sooper dooper side dish - because the meat was very soft and cooked well .
will always make sure to hanmantu in my consecutive visits tomysore...
i even met the owner of the place mr. vishal .. an honour meeting this humble and down to earth human being.

thanks to bengaluru biriyani club for sharing the location details of place . as i wanted to visit this place only
. the original brach..

hotel hanumanthu is a legendary biriyani place ismysoresimilar to the military hotels in bangalore. they provide chicken and mutton pulav. even though it was decent, it did not meet my expectation. may be i have tasted better donne biriyani's or pulav's from bangalore. the chicken kabab was also not great. a one time visit.

tried hanumanthu mutton pulav in mandi mohalla
good: quantity and the rice texture
not so good: the mutton was rubbery and hard
try the biriyani if you are inmysorefor the traditional spicy and for its famousness
not much choices in mysore, but this seems to be the better of the lot of biriyani you get in and aroundmysorefor sure

the worst hotel i have ever visited. travelled all the way from bangalore to have a taste at this famous hotel ppl where talking about. order chicken biriyani, tandoori chicken and pepper chicken.

biriyani - not even better than a pulav , u will get better biryani in chikpete and in pot biriyani.
tandoori - they fried in oil after roasting the chicken, i mean who the hell does that. wasted the food couldn't eat.
pepper chicken- they gave kabab and told me that this how pepper chicken is made in mysore. wasted this too.

never eat in this place. i think ppl inmysoreare used to, so they like the flavour of it. all in all waste of money.
