we used to love this place. everything about it. now it’s a shabby, dirty place where the staff just doesn’t care. everything weorderedwas bad. looked like they used maggi or some packaged noodles. ridiculous.

hae kum gang well lived to it's expectations with food. weorderedbibimpap and a mushroom veggie with pork with it's sides. it was the most fulfilling and amazing dish i have ever had in my life. not only does the taste of the food impress you, but also the look. i couldn't control my happiness when i saw the meal, and it was pure heaven to sit there and go though that wonderful meal.
also, they gave us complementary watermelon with orange juice, which was amazing. really yummy!
plus, if you like your tiny space to sit and be at, a few seats are placed as such too. the restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and you don't need to be above or atleast 21(it was another place where we ended up almost going in to in the ground floor *facepalm*)
special thanks to the chef who made it all possible.
hope this helps.

we dined at hae kum gang saturday night for dinner. the ambience is slightly over done and seems a bit out of place in bangalore but it definitely adds to the korean theme.
weorderedbibimbap, the ice cold soba noodles and avocado california roll. every table is provided with their 6 complimentary side dishes. the food was truly amazing. the food seemed very authentic and each dish was flavourful. despite being vegetarian we really enjoyed ever bit of the meal. hope to visit again soon.

it is a nice and cosy place. though it does talk about being an authentic korean restaurant, the interiors are no different than any normal indian restaurant. weorderedkim bap and soondubu. both were pretty good and the side dishes were great too. but the quantity of the side dishes was far too less, added to that the rice with soondubu was less too. hungry, we ended up ordering the rameyeon and mandu combo. however, the rameyeon tasted like maggie noodles and the mandu was the usual momos we could get at a street vendor. though i liked the place i left a little disappointed.

i’m someone who researches the restaurant and reads every single review before even going there. so i thought 4.6 on zomato, what could possibly go wrong? clearly, i was mistaken. after pressuring my friend to come here instead of our usual hang out spots near church street, it was the biggest letdown. the place was cozy and had good ambience. the service was pretty quick. the prices are high but the quantity was good enough. but here comes the bad part. the food was absolutely disgusting. iorderedthe kim bap and some noodles. i struggled to eat three spoons. my friend managed four spoons. it was that bad. there was no taste. the food wasn’t warm. it was bland and soggy. i hate writing bad reviews but this is the first restaurant in bangalore that has disappointed me on so many levels. i still cannot believe i set aside a day just to go here and eat expensive food that tasted worse than dried leaves.

was on a trip to bangalore - decided to come here because of exceptionally high rating of 4.4 but the place did not stack up. service was good - waiters were helpful in selecting dishes. menu was small and not confusing. small servings of kimchi and tofu (particularly) are very good. for the main course, iordereda noodles dish (seafood originally, but i asked them to make it with only shrimp and chicken), and a crispy salmon roll. unfortunately, both these did not turn out to be what deserves even a 4 rating. noodles were good but chicken pieces/strips in it were hard - probably low quality or reused from the previous day (cannot ascertain but that's how it tasted). sushi roll was alright. one has got to taste sushi in manhattan before one starts raving about this sushi. unfortunately, for me, this sushi got compared to what i had the previous night at itc gardenia's japanese restaurant. sorry did not stack up enough for me. photos attached.

seriously i don't understand what people see in this place. the food is undercooked and the staff is just rude. iorderedkimichi pajeon as i wanted to try a different korean restaurant for a change. they took over 30 mins to serve a uncooked pajeon. no soy sauce came with it also terrible side dishes. ignorant servers and rude cashier. never again. better stick to my regular the himalayan korean restaurant.

i was a new customer for hae kum gang and decided to visit them with a hungering for korean food based on how highly rated they were. iorderedfour dishes- the kanpunggi, jeyuk bossam, pork donburi and the chicken hamul jjambong. the kanpunggi and pork donburi were amazing- well-flavoured hearty. the hamul jjambong noodles were a wonderful surprise and i couldn't get enough of them. the portions are also fairly big and impressive. the ambience is really cute, unique and a welcome departure from the usual trend in bengaluru. service is a fair bit slow so be sure to visit only if you have a slow day with time to spend and enjoy the place! on the whole hae kum gang is definitely worth visiting at least once to get your fill on kpop posters and their favorite foods!

i loved the food. i went with my husband, and for 2 people 2 dishes will fill you up completely, so please do not order unless you know you carb eat a lot.
iorderedchicken kimbap , shrimp donuri and chicken chulpan.
me being meat fan i loved the chicken chulpan (must try- have added the image too)
kimbap was very good too. i was too full to eat the shrimps donburi, but that's not much on my favourite lists.
this place is amazing, crowded too (maybe sunday effect).

would recommend them to add some desert items to the menu, that was the only thing missing after a proper tummy filling meal🥰

taste - 4/5
quantity - 5/5
ambience - 2.5/5 (need to revamp)
service - 2/5 (servers need to be more friendly and interactive helping the people to decide the dishes)

weorderedthree dishes and two were disappointing. the salmon roll was very average - hardly any salmon and a lot of rice. the seafood noodle soup wasn’t cooked properly, tasted like half cooked maggie noodles and the seafood too was a bit raw. we couldn’t even finish it.

we came here after a friend’s persistent recommendation and it was quite an experience. never having tried korean food before i was bit sceptical about it but decided to give it a try. weordered2 set dishes. one was teriyaki chulpan and the other tofu chulpan. both the dishes were really good. and it’s served with different kinds of starters and an absolutely delicious soup. the starters included kimchi, a cabbage preparation, sweet potatoes in soya sauce and a brinjal dish.

this place deserves a 5 rating for the amazing food they serve, but i would rate 4.5 because of the choice of wine is limited here .. weorderedfor kanpunggi chicken and in sushiorderedfor a salmon roll , of all the restaurants were i have tried sushi, i would say sushi here is the best. would surely go back again to try other sushis on the menu.

i wanted to try authentic korean food and found this place on zomato. the decor is very old and doesn't match with the actual korean themed restaurants that i have seen so far. apart from decor the food is just heaven and very resonably priced. weorderedveg kim bap and hamul jjambong (spicy seafood noodle). they served side dishes which came along with hamul jjambong. the quantity is also good, you don't feel cheated like paying more and getting nothing. will definitely recommend it for the food.

this restaurant is for anyone who want to try out basic korean cusine. the prices are not that high compared to quality of the food they serve (don't get biased, bcoz this my personal experience). iorderedegg ramyeon and chicken kimbap (beginner's, more than enough for one person). the ramyeon was not too spicy and side dishes (to be specific: kimchi) were delicious and also the chicken kimbap. you can take extra side dishes as well here.
suggestion to restaurant: please provide stainless steel chopsticks instead of plastic.
