now it’s a duplicate korean restaurant. totally disappointed and disgusted with the food. visited this place after years, food was horrible. polite service but very delayed. after waiting for a long time they served us food that was below standard. first taste of kimchi had me questioning this place. should have cancelled rest of my orders right away. and whole dining experience spoilt with spoilt stale food. earlier it was anauthentickorean restaurant almost fine dining but now after tasting food here i feel instant noodles tastes better than what was served here, that too served in plastic bowls and plates now. even after informing them the food was not good, they were least concerned and didn’t even acknowledge instead just made sure the bill was paid. they didn’t even give a glass of water. not worth any stars zero!!

this place was strongly recommended by my foodie colleagues and i am glad i did not regret.one of the few places that serve spicy korean food. loved the mandus (korean version of momo) and their seafood broth (my beef eating colleagues are crazy about their beef stew). the noodles are very spicy and will light your tongue on fire while you crave for more. the condiments they offer is very unique (you may skip the stinky kimchee though) and is not served anywhere else in the city. this is asauthenticas you can wonder. the ambiance is average- clean, clutter free and hygienic. dont expect it to be like one of those typical fancy cafes. visit it for the 'not so mundane' menu and only if you are a sucker for trying new cuisines. definitely on my must try list

hae kum gang is one of those rare places in the city servingauthentickorean cuisine. have been here twice and have had a lovely experience both the times. the place is infact a non vegetarian's paradise with so many varieties to choose from. and to top it all their portions are huuge and each dish comes with hell lotta accompaniments. i actually love each and every item that i've tried :

- kimbap
- dolsot bibimbap
- jeyuk (pork) chulpan
- kimchi seafood california roll
- mandu (momos)

let me tell you that they have the best california rolls in the city. for the ones who havent explored sushis before i suggest start with their california rolls. it'l set your base for the japanese ones. the flavour of the rice is a bit different from the japanese counterpart & even the size is a bit bigger. the kimchi seafood one that we tried were amazzzing. it had the delectable combination of salmon, tuna, squid & crab. would highly recommend this one. chulpans are the korean version of sizzlers and comes with 6-7 condiments.the stir fried pork along with their inhouse kimchi and sweetened baby potatoes is toothsome. their kimchi tastes different from what we get at the chinese restaurants. it might feel a little pungent in the first bite but works eventually. the bibimbaps are the korean version of rice bowl with meat and lotsa veggies. its actually lighter on the tummy. even their momos (mandu) taste heavenly. one thing which i didn't like was the haemul pajeon. it's a seafood pancake which looks like our good old mughlai paratha but tastes slightly different. the overall dish somehow didn't work for me.
they don't have alcohol but a hot cup of flavourful jasmine tea/ginseng tea is a great option for keeping company. overall, their quality of food is unparalleled. would love to try their donburis & ra myen on my next visit.

sevice gets a little slow if it's crowded. price wise it's a great value for money for the portions they offer. a hearty meal for two would come within 1500/-

great job team hae kum gang.

bon appetit 🍽️

we dined at hae kum gang saturday night for dinner. the ambience is slightly over done and seems a bit out of place in bangalore but it definitely adds to the korean theme.
we ordered bibimbap, the ice cold soba noodles and avocado california roll. every table is provided with their 6 complimentary side dishes. the food was truly amazing. the food seemed veryauthenticand each dish was flavourful. despite being vegetarian we really enjoyed ever bit of the meal. hope to visit again soon.

it is a nice and cosy place. though it does talk about being anauthentickorean restaurant, the interiors are no different than any normal indian restaurant. we ordered kim bap and soondubu. both were pretty good and the side dishes were great too. but the quantity of the side dishes was far too less, added to that the rice with soondubu was less too. hungry, we ended up ordering the rameyeon and mandu combo. however, the rameyeon tasted like maggie noodles and the mandu was the usual momos we could get at a street vendor. though i liked the place i left a little disappointed.

fresh korean flavours at the heart of bangalore. it was a real treat. the ambience also tries to emulate anauthentickorean environment. visit if you wanna try something different.

greatauthentickorean food. the mandus, the california rolls(albeit not authentic), the sogogi wanja are all delicious. the service is fast and they serveauthentickorean sides with the meal which are quite good.
however they still serve their drinks with plastic straws and the management should definitely look into changing that.

i wanted to tryauthentickorean food and found this place on zomato. the decor is very old and doesn't match with the actual korean themed restaurants that i have seen so far. apart from decor the food is just heaven and very resonably priced. we ordered veg kim bap and hamul jjambong (spicy seafood noodle). they served side dishes which came along with hamul jjambong. the quantity is also good, you don't feel cheated like paying more and getting nothing. will definitely recommend it for the food.

we came here looking for anauthentickorean food experience, and was really disappointed. we ordered the pork donburi, pork cutlet and the kanpunggi. the donburi was good but the meat flavor was overpowering the dish. the coating of kanpunggi was quite hard and lacked the spice. the side dishes were stale. and most of the dishes on the menu was unavailable, like the beef options and the pork mandu. overall a bad experience!

however the pork cutlets were good!!

i visited this place recently after 2years, looks like the owner has changed. the food quality and taste has changed. it doesn’t tasteauthenticanymore. we ordered pork cutlet , shrimp fritters , ramen, beef spicy stew and jeyuk bossam.

the gosari in beef stew was so hard, i wasn’t able to chew. shrimp fritters didn’t taste good like before. only pork cutlet was ok.

i won’t recommend if someone wants to eatauthenticor close toauthentickorean food/dish.this is my personal opinion based on what i had eaten.

don’t. trust me, please don’t.
if you have high regards and love towards korean cuisine, this is possibly the worst place you can go to.
absolutely no words to describe the nonexistent “service”. one person who said “hi” when i first entered was the only greeting i was ever faced with. the other person who gave us menus and put plates on the table, was the person you will 200% hate and want to get out as soon as possible. didn’t look at us, didn’t ask us if we needed something, didn’t respond to any questions or concerns, asked for forks and felt like we asked some ancient item from his personal belongings.
long story short, we were ignored. i’ve never been ignored and ghosted to this extent in my whole life.
and that person who who i got bad vibes from, is also the person at the payment counter. i had to leave the table and go up to him and tell him i need to pay multiple times for him to understand. throughout the whole time, he had a grumpy and evil face. judging from the other reviews i feel he’s like this 24/7, people like him shouldn’t work in a restaurant serving others.
had to switch on the fan by myself because no one came up to us to even take our order, we had to go to where they are and call them.
nobody even bats an eye at you.
there were barely two staff working.
the sushis were cold, like fridge cold, and the rice was weird.
the kimchis not authentic. if you’ve never eatenauthentickimchi please don’t eat this and think it’s supposed to taste like that.
side dishes included, small potatoes in a sauce, kimchi, spring beans salad (stale and almost rotten), kimchi deon 4 pieces (no salt no taste like cardboard).
there were houseflies and fruit flies, they sat on the food all the time it was disgusting.
the total cost came to ₹1617 for 1 kimchi deon, 1 chic kim bap, 1 (avocado) cali roll, 1 cutlet (pork)

ambiance - the place looks very old and cozy. the last picture sums it all. it was empty when we went there.
their menu gives a feeling of anauthenticasian food restaurant and it has photos along with item names. it reminded us of the restaurants when we visited thailand.
🍽
food - we thought of trying multiple things but could only try two items because we were so full by their starters. we ordered hamul pajeon which is a seafood based korean pancake and kanpunggi - sweet n spicy boneless fried chicken. their quantity is amazing as you can see in the pictures. the food felt fresh and had homely taste. we didn't feel like we were eating in a restaurant.
the accompaniments that they gave with food also tasted good and we liked the sauces that they had provided.
we haven't tried korean food before so cannot comment on the authenticity of the taste and if it does justice with the korean cuisine. but it tasted good and we liked what we ordered there. 😌
🍽
service - their service was okay and the staff was polite. their staff also helped us in deciding the items from their menu.
it costed us around rs 900/- for these two items and with that quantity, we felt that it was value for money for sure.

we couldn't try many items there but our experience was good with these two items and we would love to go there again someday to try out other dishes too!

the food was terrible. we went there with great expectations to have someauthenticasian food but instead it wasn't upto the mark, no where around that too. considering the price of food its way too expensive and the food tastes awful too. a total waste of money. they can do better.
