greg norman australian grill

while on vaca my boyfriend and i were looking for a nice steakhouse. we made agreatchoice with greg normans! bread was yummy and warm, which is always a good sign. appetizer: we always get crab cakes when we go out. instead we decided on artichokes & parm and they were really yummy. we both got filets medium rare, nice cut of meat. we both chose the bacon bourbon glaze which was sweet and delicious with the filet!! sides we chose were sautéed vegs, garlic mash & risotto were just okay nothing special. service was great, atmosphere was great. we are inside but they also have outside seating with water view. we were definitely satisfied customers.

atmosphere and service was very good. food was good but not great. for this price, we expected much better flavors as food was a little bland. my son and i had steak which was a little dry. we also had seafood and pasta dishes which were very good. overall it was a good place but not the best. if your looking for agreatplace, this is not it.

unbelievable experience. we have been to greg norman's many times, and thought we would have agreatexperience by booking a table for new year's eve a couple of weeks in advance. we were assured that it would be in the dining room, and not the bar area, but could join the festivities in the bar for music and a midnight toast. when we arrived we were led to the old retail shop...not the main dining area.....with a view of several other tables, two walls, and the parking lot. when we questioned the location, we were told that we could see the fireworks. then we went back to the reception area, and asked if we could be put in the main dining room, and were willing to take the first available table. we were polite in our request; she was not.....rudely dismissed us.....the head hostess told us that was not an option. i made a call across the parking lot to another upscale restaurant from our table, and was told there was just a cancellation. we took it, and immediately walked out. told them we were leaving, and one of the reception staff asked if we were sure.....couldn't have been more sure. what a different experience across the way...nice atmosphere, friendly hostess and reception staff, owner and general manager both visited our table, and nicely decorated. ended up staying there at the bar after dinner, and had a fantastic evening. we had heard several stories from friends of ours regarding the unaccommodating and poor attitudes found at norman's, but had never experienced it until last night. we are local business people and have taken friends and clients there for years, but will think long and hard before we ever go back or recommend it.

wife and i decided to make this one of our dinners out while on vacation. she knows i'm a fan of greg norman, so it was really a no brainer. i'm pleased to say this was agreatdining experience. restaurant ambiance was sophisticated, but not snobbish. felt completely comfortable in golf shorts and polo (no surprise there). we had reservations at 6:30 on a thursday and we're seated promptly at a comfy table with cushy seats big enough for four. we asked for a smaller table that would seat us closer to the windows overlooking the water. they obliged. our waitress, lynn, took our drink order and gave is time to go over the menu, which was very impressive.greatvariety of pallet options from surf to turf. meantime, the restaurant started to get busy and we found ourselves in a high traffic area. the restaurant manager stopped over and asked if it would be okay for him to make our dining experience more enjoyable by moving us a couple tables over to avoid the high traffic area. seriously? we had not even mentioned to each other yet that it might be an awkward spot.greatstart to the night. we received our drinks and ordered. i ordered the fillet special and my wife ordered the seared ahi tuna, both rare to medium rare. bread came next, which was piping hot and delicious, and there was plenty of time for good conversation. we waited a bit longer it seemed than we are used to at fine dining restaurants, but they were busy and we were in no hurry. our food arrived and looked as appetizing as it sounded on the menu. tuna and fillet we're exactly as we ordered and lynn stopped back the right amount of times to check on us...you know, she didn't do the one time drive by to check it off her list, but she didn't make so many stops you got creeped out and it becomes the topic of your conversation. both main course dishes tasted as good as they looked and the accompaniments elevated the flavors to new levels. the net result was agreatexperience. the entire staff was courteous, the food was excellent and the view was inspiring. a++ and i'll definitely be back!

greg normans is agreatdinner spot all for people i was with enjoyed there dishes. it is expensive but i thought it was worth it. i had the pork chop it was well done and would go back again

somewhat weird decor but phenomenal food!greatservice! a bit pricy for some items but not too bad. you will hate yourself if you pass this place up and especially the prime rib!

good food, odd atmosphere. short and sweet: i ordered the brisbane filet, and it was very good. i loved the seasoning and the steak was cooked just as i asked. however, the waiter did not ask me if i wanted any sides, and i did not know i had to specifically order them. so my steak arrived nice and lonely with no sides. odd.

the seats were very comfortable and the location isgreat- right on the inter-coastal waterway. however, the music being played was 90's-2000's top 40 music. my wife and i found this pretty odd. usually you can't find coldplay and rod stewart playing in the background of a nice steakhouse.

all in all, good experience and good food!

great atmosphere.. we always dine here when in myrtle beach. agreatchoice for fine dining and a wonderful atmosphere.

enjoyed it agreatdeal for lunch one weekend. food was well presented, well seasoned and the view of the intercoastal waterway was nice. they took special pains to make a steak for my daugter, who can be picky about her beef. i recommend it.

i love this restaurant! since the year it opened this place has been a fixture into every golf trip and family vacation i have taken. i will confess, it is not the best steak i have had but it is better than the other chain steakhouses like ruths chris or mortons. but the atmosphere here is fantastic! if you like wine, make a 7 pm reservation but get there at 6 to enjoy the happy hour in the lounge.greatbar area with fantastic view of the intercoastal. norman's wines are top notch, highly recommend the petit syrah. the food: the calamari appetizer is prepared perfectly with a unique spicy sauce. the filet mignon is better than average, the prime rib is surperb, and the lobster ravioli was to die for. you will soak up the bisque-sauce with bread, it's that good. finish with the turtle cheesecake but skip the creme brûlée. service here is top notch, dining area is very comfortable. add the view and you have agreatnight out from the "great white shark"!!!
