greg norman australian grill

while on vaca my boyfriend and i were looking for a nice steakhouse. we made a great choice with greg normans! bread was yummy and warm, which is always a good sign. appetizer: we always get crab cakes when we go out. instead we decided on artichokes & parm and they were really yummy. we both got filets medium rare, nice cut of meat. we both chose the bacon bourbon glaze which was sweet and delicious with the filet!! sides we chose were sautéed vegs, garlic mash & risotto were just okay nothing special. service was great, atmosphere was great. we are inside but they also have outside seating with water view. we were definitely satisfied customers.

had to leave. service was so slow... waited more than 30 minutes for entree after salad. it never arrived. we could not find server or manager to ask if there was a problem. finally went to front and told manager we were leaving . not sure what the problem was , but not a good experience.

this place is awful. the young hostess with the blonde hair was very rude. the steak was dry. the risotto had no flavor. the brussel sprouts were drenched in vinegar. we skipped dessert because we were scared to try it, everything else was so gross. go to a good local steak house and spend the money there. this is a total tourist trap.

didn’t even make it to a table. my husband and i walked in hoping for some lunch. we went straight to the restroom. i took a little longer and the hubs was waiting for me in the reception area. when i met him out there he said the hostess hadn’t even acknowledged him, told a group of 3 to head straight on outside for a table, then answered the phone. while we waited for her to get off the phone, 3 more people walked in line behind us. she got off the phone and asked if we wanted inside or outside; we said outside. she then looked outside and immediately told the 3 people in line behind us to come with her. confused, assuming she didn’t have anything outside, they responded they wanted outside seating as well and that they actually had 4 people. she didn’t even address us again and just told them to follow her outside. never even told us why she was taking the larger group behind us first. we left and came to the flying fish....worked out perfectly because the service here couldn’t be more welcoming or friendly. will never attempt greg norman’s again.

the reason to try greg norman’s australian grill is for the country club atmosphere.  upon entering the restaurants, the wood fixtures, leather chairs & dark colors assure your senses that you are now in an exclusive country club. 

we had dinner on the deck, which overlooks the inter-costal and a marina.  it was well shaded from the sun & a comfortable area to have dinner.  also, it was entertaining to watch the different watercraft cruise by.   

our meals were expertly prepared & presented, enhancing that feel of an eloquent country club. the wait staff was calm and very attentive on meeting our needs.  the mojitos were amazing with very fresh minting leaves.  depending on your budget, the cost is on the upper side.  

the experience at greg norman’s australian grill feeds not only your tummy, but feeds your ego.  sometimes it is nice to indulge yourself and feel a little bit wealthier.

if i were greg norman, i would expect that the product and quality of my name would be equal. while the service and quality were acceptable, i would have expected more...

my sweeties birthday dinner with four of the kids. loved our server so attentive. food was the star of the evening. one of the best salads my daughter and i have had in a while. we're big salad lovers. tender flaky salmon, perfectly cooked filet mignon, pasta and burgers just right for our little ones. everybody very happy and full❤️

atmosphere and service was very good. food was good but not great. for this price, we expected much better flavors as food was a little bland. my son and i had steak which was a little dry. we also had seafood and pasta dishes which were very good. overall it was a good place but not the best. if your looking for a great place, this is not it.

unbelievable experience. we have been to greg norman's many times, and thought we would have a great experience by booking a table for new year's eve a couple of weeks in advance. we were assured that it would be in the dining room, and not the bar area, but could join the festivities in the bar for music and a midnight toast. when we arrived we were led to the old retail shop...not the main dining area.....with a view of several other tables, two walls, and the parking lot. when we questioned the location, we were told that we could see the fireworks. then we went back to the reception area, and asked if we could be put in the main dining room, and were willing to take the first available table. we were polite in our request; she was not.....rudely dismissed us.....the head hostess told us that was not an option. i made a call across the parking lot to another upscale restaurant from our table, and was told there was just a cancellation. we took it, and immediately walked out. told them we were leaving, and one of the reception staff asked if we were sure.....couldn't have been more sure. what a different experience across the way...nice atmosphere, friendly hostess and reception staff, owner and general manager both visited our table, and nicely decorated. ended up staying there at the bar after dinner, and had a fantastic evening. we had heard several stories from friends of ours regarding the unaccommodating and poor attitudes found at norman's, but had never experienced it until last night. we are local business people and have taken friends and clients there for years, but will think long and hard before we ever go back or recommend it.

never go as a single woman. service sucks. will be totally ignored. will be stuck in a corner or by the door to the kitchen. i went there every week for six months. no one ever recognized me. left 20% tip thinking that might get me some recognition and a seat in the main dining area. then moved to the bar. counted 6 waiters who walked by me before one stopped to ask if had been served. i finally decided taking my business where it was wanted. i went one time with my daughter and was finally placed in a front booth. the wait staff fawned over my daughter; really??? who did they think was paying the bill. won't be back

wife and i decided to make this one of our dinners out while on vacation. she knows i'm a fan of greg norman, so it was really a no brainer. i'm pleased to say this was a great dining experience. restaurant ambiance was sophisticated, but not snobbish. felt completely comfortable in golf shorts and polo (no surprise there). we had reservations at 6:30 on a thursday and we're seated promptly at a comfy table with cushy seats big enough for four. we asked for a smaller table that would seat us closer to the windows overlooking the water. they obliged. our waitress, lynn, took our drink order and gave is time to go over the menu, which was very impressive. great variety of pallet options from surf to turf. meantime, the restaurant started to get busy and we found ourselves in a high traffic area. the restaurant manager stopped over and asked if it would be okay for him to make our dining experience more enjoyable by moving us a couple tables over to avoid the high traffic area. seriously? we had not even mentioned to each other yet that it might be an awkward spot. great start to the night. we received our drinks and ordered. i ordered the fillet special and my wife ordered the seared ahi tuna, both rare to medium rare. bread came next, which was piping hot and delicious, and there was plenty of time for good conversation. we waited a bit longer it seemed than we are used to at fine dining restaurants, but they were busy and we were in no hurry. our food arrived and looked as appetizing as it sounded on the menu. tuna and fillet we're exactly as we ordered and lynn stopped back the right amount of times to check on us...you know, she didn't do the one time drive by to check it off her list, but she didn't make so many stops you got creeped out and it becomes the topic of your conversation. both main course dishes tasted as good as they looked and the accompaniments elevated the flavors to new levels. the net result was a great experience. the entire staff was courteous, the food was excellent and the view was inspiring. a++ and i'll definitely be back!

patio seating and live music were great. however, food was overpriced for taste and quality. service was average. will not go back. glad we were on patio though, inside is dark and musty!

the food was absolutely delicious! and the service was great along with it. definitely recommend.

greg normans is a great dinner spot all for people i was with enjoyed there dishes. it is expensive but i thought it was worth it. i had the pork chop it was well done and would go back again
