had the buffet dinner here with friends again last night.

have been here quite a number of times, not really for the foods, but more for gathering or catch up with with family and friends. besides, the price of the buffet is reasonable considering its strategic and prime location at the skycity.

quite a wide spectrum of foods and desserts. the foods were mostly average or below average. however, the desserts especially the cakes were quite good though.

the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. pretty nice and neat environment.

very friendly staff. the food range was amazing and definately worth it. the desert selection was good but if only vanilla ice cream was added it would go really well with the sweet cakes and pastries.

absolutely love this place! just finish coming back from having dinner at fortuna & just had to write a review. love the food & the atmosphere. waitresses cleared tables really fast, always checked up on us. recommend to all! will be nice if there was more dinner options.

fortuna is our go-to-place when we can’t think of any special resto to celebrate special occasions or when we have family and friends visiting us from overseas and we want to take them to somewhere impressive - and fortuna never disappoints us. both lunch and dinner buffet have a wide range of choices for entrees, mains, and dessert.

one thing that i am most impressed is the quality control and the menu is changing regularly; though that means that you’ll gonna miss out on your favourites next time around 😉. staff are very polite and professional, and the place is spacious even during busy times.

you need to reserve a table beforehand and be advised that there is a time limit of an hour and a half for dining (which is quite long enough unless you spend more time flicking your phone). the price range is also very reasonable.

located in the skytower, you'd think the restaurant would be a little on the dearer side- affordable/ cheap ish prices; which probs explains why there are always large groups of people there. good buffet range & service. i always enjoy their seafood range especially the oysters- fresh & large.

came here for lunch buffet on a saturday. the staff were nice and got us seated pretty quickly. they have a decent variety of food and quality is acceptable considering the cost. disappointed with the desserts section though as there was not one dessert item that i really enjoyed. biggest complaint would be that they try to accommodate too many people at once. most of the time at the hot food section there is no order at all... people like to push in front of others which made the experience frustrating. hopefully they will have more staff stationed by the foods so they can help serve customers in order.

i've been to fortuna on many different occasions and i must say the buffet is fairly average. a variety of average food options that are still nice to eat but standard for a restaurant located in a much rather lavish hotel/building. nonetheless, the food is still good for the price paid, especially the dessert range.

i had never been here before so one of my friends decided to take me since it’s her favourite buffet in auckland.

service: 2/10
it is super busy so you have to book 2 weeks before. the people at the front desk were questioning us and made us feel uncomfortable. the cashier when we made our payment wasn’t very welcoming and seemed unhappy. the cooks dump the food on the trays without care.

food: 6/10
there isn’t a large selection of hot foods and after eating my first plate there was nothing i really craved for. the nachos and curries were pretty good and the pasta was delicious and wasn’t over cooked. the desserts were beautifully made and tasted pretty good. the macarons weren’t that pretty but it was very sweet and tasty. there’s a wide selection of ice cream toppings but there wasn’t any freshly cut fruit so the meal felt very heavy.

ambiance: 6/10
the restaurant has a typical european style with big glass windows that would allow for a great view if there weren’t construction. the restaurant is quite loud when it’s busy because of all the different conversations happening at once and the sounds coming from the kitchen.

lunch buffet:
typical buffet with average varieties of food. been here several times and the food they serve are always the same, i just wish that they will serve oysters for lunch. i love that they have many choices of salads but my favourite part is of course the dessert section.

breakfast buffet:

tried breakfast buffet for a change. honestly, i like it better than lunch. maybe just because breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. i enjoyed this meal and will definitely come back again.

found hair in my dessert which was really quite disgusting. when i approached the staff they were very apologetic and gave me my dinner free which was my minimum expectation as i couldn’t eat after seeing the hair anyway. food is bland and not what i expected from a restaurant associated with sky city. i mistakenly expected a far better standard.

in the last 2 months i’ve come here for breakfast , lunch and dinner all on separate occasions and am kind of disappointed ? i feel like their food quality isn’t as great as it used to be. food choices were basic but a lot of it was either bland , tasted funny or dry (in terms of the meat , except for the ham). breakfast was average but many dishes tasted bland like the french toast , scrambled eggs and waffles. the bacon is nice when hot but when it gets cold , dries out and becomes hard. the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict was watery as well. lunch and dinner were pretty much the same except for a few different dishes like the oysters. the rest was the same as lunch and i found quite underwhelming. the roast potatoes were nice tho. i prbably wouldn’t come back anytime soon 😅

lovley layout, awesome customer service alright food but some of it was bland although some was good. dessert is nice👌 enjoyed my time there.

i went there for dinner. there isn’t much variety and the food is pretty standard/average (fish bites, pizza, sushi etc). the venue itself is nice and there’s always plenty of parking. service was ok. i wouldn’t recommend booking right on opening because the doors don’t actually open until then. if other patrons arrived before you, you need to wait for them to get sorted at reception, meaning part of your allotted time has been used waiting.

i've been here for lunch and dinner on many occasions the food is all fresh and well presented. the selection is not huge but most people will find enough to enjoy. the desert bar is excellent. i would say it is value for money during the week. i don't think the extra charge on the weekend is justified.

fairly average buffet. some good dishes such as the lamb shanks, prawns but the feature of the buffet is the definitely the dessert. recommended for a mid week meal where you are not sure what you want. you get a bit of everything. staff are attentive.
