fork and stix is a small place, tucked away off a side street in the loop. without knowing it was there, you'd easily miss it, and what a shame that would be. i'm curious as to how some of the more standard dishes taste, but i was really happy to see some options that normally aren't on my radar. i can easily see how both thekhaosoi and sai oua made list of dishes you should try. while not every dish hit on all cylinders, there's enough to like here that it should definitely make your rotation on places to try.

the tom yum soup is a wonderful starter. it tastes very fresh, and had a pretty good bite (you can cool it down if you prefer). the service is outstanding- they are all very attentive and work together. i also had a delicious soup for my entree, thekhaosoi entree. i was reluctant because the description didn't sound like it ended up tasting. it was very flavorful, layered with spice and curry. i will go back for this meal again soon.

beautiful and delicious thai food in st. louis!. i did not think i would ever find really fresh and authentic thai food in st. louis. fork & stix does it right! i had read such wonderful reviews of this place, so on our first visit tonight, we wanted to sample several items. we started with the crispy spring rolls, which were perfectly fried and overstuffed with carrot and cabbage. delicious! next we tried the som tum paired with an order of muu ping and sticky rice. perfection! for entrees, we had shrimp pad thai and chickenkhaosoi. my husband preferred the more familiar taste of the pad thai and i loved the gorgeous bowl of yellow curry soup. both dishes were brighter in appearance and taste than any thai food i have had in st. louis. even my $8 glass of hess cabernet was tasty! the server was friendly and competent, the dining room cozy and comfortable. i found everything to be excellent and cannot wait to go back!

great thai food at incredible prices! byob, though... date posted: jul 28, 2013 category: thai address: 549 rosedale ave saint louis, mo 63112 this place has some of the best thai food in the area, and best of all it is very reasonably priced.  pictured below is the hung lay curry, which was incredibly tender and tasty.  a must order for meat eaters.  for vegetarians get thekhaosoi with tofu (pictured in the title image above). there is no liquor license but you can bring your own booze, or at least your own wine.  we saw several people bringing in bottles of wine with no problem. the iced-coffee was very good.  it wasn’t overly sweet like some places make it.  it had a nice bitter flavor. the tum yum soup was delightful as well.  the only detraction of the place (besides a lack of booze) was that it did not look terribly inviting.  from the exterior you would not think it had some of the best thai in the area. give it a try! pros : great food, great prices cons : poor atmosphere.  byob. charlie’s favorites :  hung lay curry, tum yum soup christine’s favorites : khao soi with tofu, iced coffee, papaya salad share the love of good food... 1 0

very good thai food. everything was nicely prepared with fresh ingredients. we had the chicken sateh, which were okay and the hoy jaw (deep fried dumplings -- pork, shrimp, crab filling wrapped in tofu skin) which i wish had more shrimp/crab and less pork. for entrees, we ordered thekhaosoy noodles and the hung le curry (on the good recommendation from the whiskey and soba blog). i am not a fan of coconut milk or of sweetness in savory foods, but i thought thekhaosoy was delicious and it had both. the pork in the hung le curry was tender and the curry sauce had a lot of different strands of flavor to savor. very pleasant clean atmosphere, even when it was full and lively, we had no trouble holding conversation.

khao soi is amazing. smaller menu than other thai places, but thekhaosoi with tofu is one of the best things i've ever eaten.
