oh, fabergé. i had such high hopes for you. purple seats, attractive clientele, and an intriguing breakfast menu; a superficial girl's paradise. but i guess purple things are not always fabulous. so anyway, here's a sample of the menu: two eggs any style with bacon, ham, sausage and beans, served with cup of fruit, potatoes and toast (10$) two poached eggs, bed of wild mushrooms and ste-pauline cheese, topped with hollandaise sauce and served on english muffin (11$) omelettes made with two eggs with a choice of three ingredients (ham, bacon, sausage, caramelised onions, tomatoes, feta, etc.) and served with cup of fruit, potatoes and toast (9$, 1$ for each extra ingredient) a variety of breakfast sandwiches: with egg, ham, bacon, tuna or salmon and served with cup of fruit and potatoes (from 6$ to 12$) fruit cups (from 6$ to 10$) a variety of french toast, crêpes, waffles, and pancakes (from 8$ to 11$) signature dish: homemade cinnamon danish, with french toast batter and a mountain

total blah. just another one in a million breakfast joints in montreal serving sub par food. don't do what we did. if lawrence says there's a 15 minute wait, wait for 15 minutes rather than looking for somewhere else.

nice way to start the day. very friendly staff. the owner is almost always on-site, checking on the customers and even offering up free samples. big variety of breakfast foods. the eggs benedicts (there are too many to talk about) are quite good. also there is a cinnamon bun-turned into-french toast dish that is quite good. the breakfast poutine is interesting, but i'm not a fan of hollandaise (although i do it on benedicts once in a blue moon). a bit noisy at times.

terrible service, condescending waiting staff and arrogant manager. waited nearly an hour for glass of orange juice. memo to staff - you aren't working at studio 54!! drop the attitude and get to your jobs not flitting around.

good breakfast, weird atmosphere. we ate here on a hangover seeking greasy eggs and the music was blaring michael jackson's "thriller". a lil' much for a morning joint.

great food, good service and inappropriate music for early morning breakfasts ordered by families with kids. the silent cartoons from by-gone era were a heartwarming and nostalgic touch.

great little place with a tasty menu and nice atmosphere. i would recommend very highly. also, as a dad with a baby who needs changing' even when we are out at breakfast, the changing table in the bathroom is a nice feature that is rare in breakfast joints in this neighbourhood- very thoughtful! my family and i will be back!

yum!. i work in the plateau and was very happy when this restaurant opened in the area. fabergé has been open since july and i've been multiple times.

with it's urban-chic decor, fabergé really embodies montreal's hipster scene. i love all the sketches of the montreal skyline on the concrete walls. the purple velvet banquettes add a slight "chic" element without being too much.finally a breakfast place that doesnt display tacky chickens and cartooned eggs with smily faces!

while i admit that the service was a little shaky right after the opening this summer, i saw the potential and was determined to give this place a chance and i'm very glad i did!

some of the more recent improvements that i've noticed are were that they've reconfigured their lounge area to seat more diners, very smart! it gets real packed in there especially on sunday mornings! the other thing i'm really happy they changed is that they got rid of the dj that used to spin on sundays. while i enjoy loud music just as much as the next girl, it may have been a little much for an early sunday morning, they've now opted for a more mellow soundtrack :)

the quality of food served here is excellent. the fruits are super fresh, my eggs are always perfectly fluffy and the lattes are awesome! the staff is great too, i've never had bad service, they're very smiley and energetic.

my favorite item on fabergé's menu has to be the buttermilk pancakes with strawberry compote (red cakes) probably the best pancakes i've ever had!

the eggs in a nest come in at a close second the cheese bread they use is so yummy!

and lastly- the benedicts! have the medditerranean! the eggs are served on top of a phyllo pastry and topped with spinach and feta cheese, kind of like a greek spinach pie (spanakopita) but ina benedict--genius!

fabergé has become on of my favorite spots in the area and i love bringing new people here, we've all had great experiences!

keep it up guys!

a refreshing delight.... i take great pride in my choice for breakfast in our fine city of montreal. with so many options, it is sometimes hard to filter out the good, the bad and the ugly. after many visits to faberge (from their opening week when i stumbled upon it) up until last week, i have always had a memorable experience. i usually stick to my breakfast staple of 2 egss over, bacon and suasage well-done etc but the ever present local owners convinced me over a mimosa to try their faberge delight which consisted of a cinnamon danish, in french toast batter served with fresh fruits and maple syrup. it was mind-blowing! since then i've rotated from signature dishes to classics and haven't been disappointed yet. i ever heard they are doing good old fashioned pub food with a mdoern twist during habs games! if you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor...it is a unique gem in the montreal breakfast landscape.

eggs in a nest saved my life. decided to have brunch in the plateau last weekend and wanted to try something new. had the eggs in a nest and was delicious - the cheese bread they used was unreal good and really hit the spot (i.e. saved my life after a night of drinking).
all and all an excellent time - vibe and ambience were cool, staff was friendly, and the breakfast hit the spot.
would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

dont bother. i have never in my life had such terrible service, or encountered a chef with as little pride in his food or respect for the customer in my life.
my girlfriend and i visited on sunday morning, and encountered loud clubbing music being played by a dj sitting in the corner. the music was obnoxiously loud, and after being asked to take a seat in the "lounge", we contemplated leaving because of how gaudy and tacky the place was. we decided to stay because we were hungry and had already fed the meter.
we were seated at a table for two that was literally glued to our neighbors on both sides, whenever anyone got up, their butt was literally on the plates of the other table, that's how tight it was.
not only did the waitress take a ridiculously long time to take our order, but our coffee and juice came only after hounding the waitress 2 times. after ordering, we sat and waited, watching all of the food come and go from the pass line.
we watched a bagel sandwich go from the pass, to a table (which was not what the patron had ordered) and after he checked it out, he sent it back where it sat on the pass for about ten-fifteen minutes, then was served to my girlfriend along with what i had ordered, one of their signature dishes which was missing the french toast accompaniment (half the dish).
when my girlfriends bagel arrived it had bacon on it, when she specifically ordered it without the bacon, because she is a vegetarian, so we sent it back. the bagel then came back a few minutes later, but the chef had simply scraped off the bacon from the same bagel, put another slice of cheese to hide the bacon grease, however there was still bacon all over the side dishes.
we sent it back again, and it returned, the same plate, the same bagel (with the bacon grease), and the chef had just decided that scrapping off the food that had pieces of bacon on it was a good idea. the plate came back, with about a third of the food, and freezing cold as it was cooked over 30 minutes ago to be served to another table.
meanwhile, i still had not received the half of my dish that was missing. at this point, we had enough and were ready to leave, so i asked for the bill even though nothing was eaten, and they actually charged me for my dish, and left out the bagel.
when speaking with the manager, he didn't even look me in the eye, and spoke down to me as if he thought what the chef had done was acceptable. he refused to admit to any wrong doings on the restaurants part, and tried to change the subject by asking how my meal was. other than the fact that it was cold, that i only received half of it, and i ate only two bites, it was mediocre, poorly cooked and under-seasoned.
all in all, they tried to feed us food that had been man handled by a customer, sat on the pass for over 10 minutes, then tried to feed bacon to my vegetarian girlfriend 3 times, and never brought me my food. the management ended by saying i hope next time it will be better… like we will ever be back.

tuna melt!. i came to this stylish little spot for brunch in early september, arriving a bit too late for breakfast. my partner and i both opted for the tuna melt and were very impressed with the freshness and quality of the ingredients, as well as with the prompt, polite and unassuming service.

the lightly creamy and savoury tuna salad melange was spread atop a crisp leaf of frizzy lettuce and crowned with a little army of gorgeous, sun-ripened baby tomato halves, sandwiched between two toasted slices of sharp cheddar bread fresh from the bakery. delicious.

we opted for a side salad instead of fries and were unsurprised by and happy with the ubiquitous spring mix with simple balsamic dressing we received, tasty and satisfying, a pleasant if expected accompaniment to the familiar-with-a-twist tuna melt.

i'll be going back!
