yum!. i work in the plateau and was very happy when this restaurant opened in the area. fabergé has been open since july and i've been multiple times.
with it's urban-chic decor, fabergé really embodies montreal's hipster scene. i love all the sketches of the montreal skyline on the concrete walls. the purple velvet banquettes add a slight "chic" element without being too much.finally a breakfast place that doesnt display tacky chickens and cartooned eggs with smily faces!
while i admit that theservicewas a little shaky right after the opening this summer, i saw the potential and was determined to give this place a chance and i'm very glad i did!
some of the more recent improvements that i've noticed are were that they've reconfigured their lounge area to seat more diners, very smart! it gets real packed in there especially on sunday mornings! the other thing i'm really happy they changed is that they got rid of the dj that used to spin on sundays. while i enjoy loud music just as much as the next girl, it may have been a little much for an early sunday morning, they've now opted for a more mellow soundtrack :)
the quality of food served here is excellent. the fruits are super fresh, my eggs are always perfectly fluffy and the lattes are awesome! the staff is great too, i've never had bad service, they're very smiley and energetic.
my favorite item on fabergé's menu has to be the buttermilk pancakes with strawberry compote (red cakes) probably the best pancakes i've ever had!
the eggs in a nest come in at a close second the cheese bread they use is so yummy!
and lastly- the benedicts! have the medditerranean! the eggs are served on top of a phyllo pastry and topped with spinach and feta cheese, kind of like a greek spinach pie (spanakopita) but ina benedict--genius!
fabergé has become on of my favorite spots in the area and i love bringing new people here, we've all had great experiences!
keep it up guys!
