fabergé keeps appearing in a lot of montreal food articles when searching about brunch places. so we decided to give it a try. we really wanted to like it. unfortunately, we were not that amazed by the food. we ordered the popular waffle and fried chicken. the chickens were really small pieces, even though we ordered the complete chicken. the belle province plate (waffle and blueberry) were very simple. waffle was a bit too mushy/thick and not crispy (i like it a bit crispy, my preference). bacon on it was the only good part (delicious). coffee drinks are good.servicewas good and the decor is definitely the highlight.

i wanted to try this place for a while now and today was the day finally. i like the place, the staff is friendly and theserviceis efficient. the food was very satisfying i ordered "le massif" wich consists of 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, potato, beans, toasts and a french toast...oufff..and i was interested in trying their mac and cheese patties too lol. the menu looks interesting so i will return some other time 👍.

busy brunch place with an easy-going atmosphere. very comfortable. the chicken to my waffles were a bit too crispy for my personal preference but the waffles were great. along with the portion given. potatoes were well seasoned.servicewas attentive and efficient.

the food was decent, but theservicewas very slow (only one waitress for the whole place when we were in).  the menu is good for breakfast and i was excited to try the chicken waffles...in they end they lacked in the taste department, although the presentation and portion size were good.  the bbq sauce was bland (but homemade).  the coleslaw was advertised to include sriracha sauce but didn't seem to...another bland but homemade addition.

the atmosphere is cool, and the food is close to being good but on the day i visited something seemed to be lacking.

it's not the first time i am having brunch at faberge, and every timei do, i get great customerserviceand very good and tasty food! the staff is extremely friendly, polite and simply awesome! what is also interesting, is that here you can see all types of customers of different backgrounds and ages- which is a great sign as well, it shows that it caters to everyone regardless their age and social background! if you want to have a true spirit of plateau- definitely a place to visit!

i hadn't been back in over a year and had a hankering for their breakfast poutine. since i was last there, they reduced the portion size and started charging extra for meat. it was still delicious, but that and a cup of coffee was $18, which seemed a little high. my dining companion ordered the hot chocolate, which was $5 and came as a glass of hot milk and whipped cream with ganache on the side--it was good, but not worth the price. theservicewas as good as i remember and the server was the one who told me that the portion size was reduced to cut down on waste. i will come back, especially with visitors, but not nearly as often as i used to.

**revised review below my original post**

one of my favorite breakfast places! i will drive across town just to eat here.
the huevos rancheros are awesome and the egg cooked in the cheese bread is also one of my favs.

always greatserviceand i love the cartoons.

wait times tend to be quite long, so going early is best.

i went to fabergé this morning and travelled out of my way across montreal to get there only to find out that they have reduced their menu by a lot and have changed the dishes that are currently on the menu to make room for items like "tofu scramble with spinach, mushrooms, & onions".

the huevos is no longer a meal i would go out of my way to pay 16$ for (the eggs in cheese bread were completely mia), the prices have increased, and the portions served also seem much smaller than before.

their online menu also shows all dishes at 10$ but most are at least 1.5 times that price.

my significant other is a chef so i get that sometimes you need to reduce a menu or change a few things here and there, but this seems to be a very drastic change that completely disappointed me.

i've changed my rating from 5 to 2 and doubt that i will go back again in the future.

i am highly disappointed by the food and the service. visited this morning, ordered huevos rancheros and it was one of the worst huevos i had in my life time. i love eating out and can distinguish between a good dish and a really mediocre one. highly priced, long line and not the bestserviceand all for nothing. still don't get what the hype is about. when i was served my food i barely ate anything because it was tasteless, the guacamole tasted as if the avocado was rotten and the tortilla was not chewable. when i told the waiter all his said is that he is sorry and that maybe i want something else, i didn't and didn't want to take a chance of getting another mediocre dish. when i got the bill i was surprised to see that i have to pay for something that i didn't even eat, i asked the waiter but he said that there is nothing they can do about it. bad management is all i can say, if a restaurant pretends to be of a certain class the least they could have done is to not let me pay. wouldn't recommend to any foodie.

breakfast poutine - a must order! well-spiced roasted potatoes with a nice crunch outside, perfectly caramelized peppers and onions, a well-balanced creamy hollandaise sauce and a poached egg to meld the whole poutine together. it is basically a egg benedict in a bowl. this holds true for their egg benedict dishes.  the letdown is the slowservicewhich make impatient customers to get out of their seat and leave. it might take up to 30 mins even more than an hour to get your order, at least it's worth the wait. the question is: are you patient to wait for good food? you'll decide... breakfast poutine - hash browns, caramelized peppers and onions, cheese curd, hollandaise sauce and poached egg rustique egg benedict with wild mushrooms and ste-paulin cheese l

yum!. this is my third time at the restaurant and it never fails to please. theserviceis impeccable. all who work there are really friendly.

i had le massif, which was amazing! the french toast was great! i was full until dinner!

i have to say, though, i wish i had ordered their newest item on the menu, that my two friends had, which i tasted and was sooooo good! it's the breakfast poutine! it has hollandaise sauce instead of gravy, and potato cubes instead of fries.

i have to go back and have that!

much better brunch available for the price. we got there at noon on sunday, the place was packed. our meal took over 40 minutes to arrive. my mother's omelet did not even have the right ingredients in it after 40 minutes. the potatoes dry and overdone. the waiter told us or our food was coming half a dozen times during the time we waited. i had never heard of a 2-egg omelet before fabergé. for the price, the plates had very little food in them compared to places like la petite marche and la cantine.

conclusion: badserviceand bad food is a deadly combo. go elsewhere.

great food, goodserviceand inappropriate music for early morning breakfasts ordered by families with kids. the silent cartoons from by-gone era were a heartwarming and nostalgic touch.

yum!. i work in the plateau and was very happy when this restaurant opened in the area. fabergé has been open since july and i've been multiple times.

with it's urban-chic decor, fabergé really embodies montreal's hipster scene. i love all the sketches of the montreal skyline on the concrete walls. the purple velvet banquettes add a slight "chic" element without being too much.finally a breakfast place that doesnt display tacky chickens and cartooned eggs with smily faces!

while i admit that theservicewas a little shaky right after the opening this summer, i saw the potential and was determined to give this place a chance and i'm very glad i did!

some of the more recent improvements that i've noticed are were that they've reconfigured their lounge area to seat more diners, very smart! it gets real packed in there especially on sunday mornings! the other thing i'm really happy they changed is that they got rid of the dj that used to spin on sundays. while i enjoy loud music just as much as the next girl, it may have been a little much for an early sunday morning, they've now opted for a more mellow soundtrack :)

the quality of food served here is excellent. the fruits are super fresh, my eggs are always perfectly fluffy and the lattes are awesome! the staff is great too, i've never had bad service, they're very smiley and energetic.

my favorite item on fabergé's menu has to be the buttermilk pancakes with strawberry compote (red cakes) probably the best pancakes i've ever had!

the eggs in a nest come in at a close second the cheese bread they use is so yummy!

and lastly- the benedicts! have the medditerranean! the eggs are served on top of a phyllo pastry and topped with spinach and feta cheese, kind of like a greek spinach pie (spanakopita) but ina benedict--genius!

fabergé has become on of my favorite spots in the area and i love bringing new people here, we've all had great experiences!

keep it up guys!
