had the "bonhomme pomme" crêpe. it was ok. its a crepe filled with apples, caramel and cheese. it had cheap orange cheddar in it, which was disappointing. i also had a pink smoothie and it was very good but was somewhat expensive at 6$. my friends had omelette and benedictine eggs. one  had toasts that came with her plate, but had no jam or peanut butter whatsoever.  she ordered coffee and it took about 10-15 minutes... my other friend had a side of pancakes and it came with no sirup or anything to put on it... the restaurant was filled and the waitresses were pretty busy.
i also saw 2 customers returning their plates.
in my opinion, its ok. not worth the waiting if the restaurant is full. maybe the specialities are better.

i was really excited to come here after some great reviews. it wasn't too busy when we arrived and the four of us got a table at a booth right away. the staff was really friendly which was a nice touch. but overall the food wasn't anything spectacular, i ordered le classique which included toast, a super tiny bowl of fruit, eggs, home fries and sausage. standard breakfast fare but it wasn't the best i'd ever had. the home fries were a little burnt and the texture of the sausage resembled beef jerky. my friend ordered the chicken and waffles and that was actually really good so i do recommend that!

**revised review below my original post**

one of my favorite breakfast places! i will drive across town just to eat here.
the huevos rancheros are awesome and the egg cooked in the cheese bread is also one of my favs.

always great service and i love the cartoons.

wait times tend to be quite long, so going early is best.

i went to fabergé this morning and travelled out of my way across montreal to get there only to find out that they have reduced their menu by a lot and have changed the dishes that are currently on the menu to make room for items like "tofu scramble with spinach, mushrooms, & onions".

the huevos is no longer a meal i would go out of my way to pay 16$ for (the eggs in cheese bread were completely mia), the prices have increased, and the portions served also seem much smaller than before.

their online menu also shows all dishes at 10$ but most are at least 1.5 times that price.

my significant other is a chef so i get that sometimes you need to reduce a menu or change a few things here and there, but this seems to be a very drastic change that completely disappointed me.

i've changed my rating from 5 to 2 and doubt that i will go back again in the future.

who doesnt love a good fried chicken and waffle brunch?!

well my waffles were a bit burnt so they flipped it over and put the non burnt side facing up.. not cool.

food tastes pretty good. its a solid brunch place, most of the items on the menu is a reasonable price for the portions.

we heard of this place a long time ago but just never had the courage to wait in line to just get brunch. surprisingly, we got there at 11am on a saturday and we got seated right away!

the menu is very straight forward with a lot of original combinations. we got the eggs benedict served on top of pulled pork and a mac and cheese bun! it was accompanied by these unbelievable breakfast potatoes. the eggs were really heavy, i think things would taste better if they had some sort of pop somewhere. but anyways, i still think that it tasted really good. i got the el jefe, i'm not too impressed because it's just a burger bun with an egg, bacon and guacamole. and it's really messy to eat since the eggs just breaks down. my husband just love breaking yolks so he devoured most of the sandwich.

however, although we got seated right away, it took them almost an hour for us to get our food, but luckily we got to sip on our beautiful cappuccino with a leaf coffee art. my husband got the matcha latte and it's so pretty! and really good too!

went there for brunch on saturday, and yes parking was annoying and there was a line-up (waited about 20mins at 11:30am) but worth it! the chicken and waffles was amazing - and the last time i tried that combination (at deville) i hated it. the rustic benedict with wild mushrooms was delicious but when i go back, there are a few other amazing sounding combos i'd like to try.

breakfast and brunch are a huge deal in montreal. so much so, that there are many restaurants that are dedicated to breakfast alone, and then close for the day around 3 or 4pm. (remember when cora took the rest of the country by storm? they originally began in montreal and follow this same principle.) fabergé is one such a restaurant and it is a beloved spot in mile end to get some morning eats. luckily for me, this place is only about two blocks from my house. to quote their website "one instantly recognizes the soulful vibe of the mile end, the neighbourhood we call home." i couldn't have put it better myself! it's the perfect bright and bustling local spot to fall into on a saturday or sunday morning while out for a stroll. i took special note of this place when i saw them featured on day of gluttony: 24 montreal restaurants in 24 hours.

the wait to get a table can sometimes be lengthy on the weekends, so the earlier that you can manage to show up, the better. they have a small and lovely wooden patio out front in the warmer months and i can't think of a nicer way to get to enjoy breakfast than doing so while taking in the scenes of mile end at the same time. we were lucky enough to nab a spot on said patio, and as such, didn't get to see a whole lot of the restaurant's interior. from what i did see, it's a very busy space with white chairs, purple upholstered benches and interesting mural art on the walls that continues straight up onto the ceiling. the storefront opens up completely to the sidewalk outside. i was happy to sit out in the hot sunshine, even if it was maybe a little bit too hot.

as soon as i found the matcha latte ($5.00) on the menu, i knew that it was the morning beverage for me. hot weather + hot drink be damned! this cup of deliciousness arrived looking positively beautiful, beaming with the unmistakeable colour of green matcha. it was creamy, yet light. finally something different than the typical choices! yum!

there are lots of choices when it comes to breakfast. including le massive, which sounds like the perfect quebecois meal, creton included. and a breakfast poutine that includes eggs and hollandaise. their "signature dish" is chicken & waffles, which i saw someone eating at a nearby table, and it looked incredibly epic. i'd get that the next time! they also offer a bunch of different benedicts. i was drawn immediately to one of the specials that day, the "mac & cheese" benedict (pulled pork, st-paulin cheese & jalapeño gellée - $14.00). i had the friendly server describe the dish to me, just to be sure that we were all on the same page, and boy were we ever! we're talking fried mac & cheese with pulled pork on top, topped with a poached egg, topped with hollandaise. i did not need to consider any further. all of the benedicts are also served with a cup of fruit and potatoes. the moment that i cut into this abomination of nature, i could see the cheesy macaroni noodles that were hiding within the fried round base. the pulled pork was savoury and tender, and the eggs were perfectly cooked with an oozy yolk. i found that the hollandaise seemed to be missing a little something, maybe some lemon? the potatoes were excellent, crispy and fried to perfection. the whole thing was perfectly insane in the best possible way.

i want fabergé to become "our neighbourhood breakfast place." our default on mornings when we don't want to go far and we don't want to make anything ourselves. i loved their vibe and i like where their heads are at when it comes to the food. they'll be seeing more of me!

i had the uevos rancheros and was extremely disappointed . menu description was very misleading . mexican ingredients are no more than a mere spoonful of avocado and same scarce amount of mexican veggies .
aside from that, it's a plain egg dish which is as far as being mexican as our weather is from being tropical !
i also took the pulled pork which was very dry and too acidy for a breakfast accompaniment . on the other hand both the french toast and waffles were good . their cafe latte was also very good .

... i walked in to fabergé through a curtained entrance and stumbled upon white plastic chairs paired with purple velvet which really encapsulated the restaurant and brought out a modernistic vibe. instantly, i could feel its modern coziness. to continue with this dapper feel, there was a flavor-flave clock. as if i could feel any more in the 90s, i was transported back to my childhood days with old cartoon classics, like the jetsons, playing on their tvs. oh, the memories. having previewed the menu prior **duh**, i really wanted to have the waffles, but they were out of the batter (not quite sure how that happened for an 11 am meal) . call it bad luck, but the french toast was quite tasty. luckily, the breakfast menu was huge so there were many options to choose from.

i really do not get the hype around this place. had an unfortunate opportunity to dine at faberge. absolutely tasteless huevos ranchevos, with the tortilla hard as a rock, rotten tasting guacamole and a cold egg - all of this at a juicy 16$ price tag. are you kidding me? honestly, i wish i had picked cora's on that beautiful morning, despite the fact that cora's is on the very bottom of my "brunch/breakfast places", well i can say with confidence that cora's has moved up one level giving faberge the truthful "no 1. of the worst restaurants for brunch". i honestly thought that this was just my dish that lacked completely in both, presentation and taste, but on the way out of the restaurant i looked at other unfortunate people's dishes and realized that most likely they also tasted just as bad as they looked. this goes for regular breakfast with blend over-easy eggs with unchewable stips of bacon and unattractive pieces of toasted wonderbread and benedicts swarming with tasteless-looking hollandaise sauce on an equally unattractive english muffin. this is when i felt truly relieved, and noted to myself that i would not come back to this overpriced and completely undeserving brunch spot. but you be your own judge at you own risk.

as travelers will discover when they first get in the city, montrealers are real breakfast lovers. starting with institution as beauty’s luncheonette, opened since 1942 on mont-royal avenue, brunch has become a real source of inspiration for chefs and cooks: national meals are being reinvented, cultures are mixed and seasonal products are valued. need a bite of montreal’s morning taste? you will find here five excellent addresses to start your day in front of flavorful dishes, surrounded by a great atmosphere. bon appétit!     1. chez régine located in montreal’s beautiful area rosemont petite-patrie, chez régine’s restaurant will charm you at first sight while you will admire its elegant retro-chic style. even the chairs are pieces of art! what we love most though is the original and creative menu. everything is more than delicious and also, homemade, from the pastries to its bacon. cooks don’t hesitate to mix salty and sweet flavors from local quebec’s products . they use for their r

i am highly disappointed by the food and the service. visited this morning, ordered huevos rancheros and it was one of the worst huevos i had in my life time. i love eating out and can distinguish between a good dish and a really mediocre one. highly priced, long line and not the best service and all for nothing. still don't get what the hype is about. when i was served my food i barely ate anything because it was tasteless, the guacamole tasted as if the avocado was rotten and the tortilla was not chewable. when i told the waiter all his said is that he is sorry and that maybe i want something else, i didn't and didn't want to take a chance of getting another mediocre dish. when i got the bill i was surprised to see that i have to pay for something that i didn't even eat, i asked the waiter but he said that there is nothing they can do about it. bad management is all i can say, if a restaurant pretends to be of a certain class the least they could have done is to not let me pay. wouldn't recommend to any foodie.
