fabergé keeps appearing in a lot of montreal food articles when searching about brunch places. so we decided to give it a try. we really wanted to like it. unfortunately, we were not that amazed by the food. we ordered the popular waffle and fried chicken. the chickens were really small pieces, even though we ordered the complete chicken. the belle province plate (waffle and blueberry) were very simple. waffle was a bit too mushy/thick and not crispy (i like it a bit crispy, my preference).baconon it was the only good part (delicious). coffee drinks are good. service was good and the decor is definitely the highlight.

we heard of this place a long time ago but just never had the courage to wait in line to just get brunch. surprisingly, we got there at 11am on a saturday and we got seated right away!

the menu is very straight forward with a lot of original combinations. we got the eggs benedict served on top of pulled pork and a mac and cheese bun! it was accompanied by these unbelievable breakfast potatoes. the eggs were really heavy, i think things would taste better if they had some sort of pop somewhere. but anyways, i still think that it tasted really good. i got the el jefe, i'm not too impressed because it's just a burger bun with an egg, baconand guacamole. and it's really messy to eat since the eggs just breaks down. my husband just love breaking yolks so he devoured most of the sandwich.

however, although we got seated right away, it took them almost an hour for us to get our food, but luckily we got to sip on our beautiful cappuccino with a leaf coffee art. my husband got the matcha latte and it's so pretty! and really good too!

i really do not get the hype around this place. had an unfortunate opportunity to dine at faberge. absolutely tasteless huevos ranchevos, with the tortilla hard as a rock, rotten tasting guacamole and a cold egg - all of this at a juicy 16$ price tag. are you kidding me? honestly, i wish i had picked cora's on that beautiful morning, despite the fact that cora's is on the very bottom of my "brunch/breakfast places", well i can say with confidence that cora's has moved up one level giving faberge the truthful "no 1. of the worst restaurants for brunch". i honestly thought that this was just my dish that lacked completely in both, presentation and taste, but on the way out of the restaurant i looked at other unfortunate people's dishes and realized that most likely they also tasted just as bad as they looked. this goes for regular breakfast with blend over-easy eggs with unchewable stips ofbaconand unattractive pieces of toasted wonderbread and benedicts swarming with tasteless-looking hollandaise sauce on an equally unattractive english muffin. this is when i felt truly relieved, and noted to myself that i would not come back to this overpriced and completely undeserving brunch spot. but you be your own judge at you own risk.

a refreshing delight.... i take great pride in my choice for breakfast in our fine city of montreal. with so many options, it is sometimes hard to filter out the good, the bad and the ugly. after many visits to faberge (from their opening week when i stumbled upon it) up until last week, i have always had a memorable experience. i usually stick to my breakfast staple of 2 egss over, baconand suasage well-done etc but the ever present local owners convinced me over a mimosa to try their faberge delight which consisted of a cinnamon danish, in french toast batter served with fresh fruits and maple syrup. it was mind-blowing! since then i've rotated from signature dishes to classics and haven't been disappointed yet. i ever heard they are doing good old fashioned pub food with a mdoern twist during habs games! if you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor...it is a unique gem in the montreal breakfast landscape.

dont bother. i have never in my life had such terrible service, or encountered a chef with as little pride in his food or respect for the customer in my life.
my girlfriend and i visited on sunday morning, and encountered loud clubbing music being played by a dj sitting in the corner. the music was obnoxiously loud, and after being asked to take a seat in the "lounge", we contemplated leaving because of how gaudy and tacky the place was. we decided to stay because we were hungry and had already fed the meter.
we were seated at a table for two that was literally glued to our neighbors on both sides, whenever anyone got up, their butt was literally on the plates of the other table, that's how tight it was.
not only did the waitress take a ridiculously long time to take our order, but our coffee and juice came only after hounding the waitress 2 times. after ordering, we sat and waited, watching all of the food come and go from the pass line.
we watched a bagel sandwich go from the pass, to a table (which was not what the patron had ordered) and after he checked it out, he sent it back where it sat on the pass for about ten-fifteen minutes, then was served to my girlfriend along with what i had ordered, one of their signature dishes which was missing the french toast accompaniment (half the dish).
when my girlfriends bagel arrived it hadbaconon it, when she specifically ordered it without the bacon, because she is a vegetarian, so we sent it back. the bagel then came back a few minutes later, but the chef had simply scraped off thebaconfrom the same bagel, put another slice of cheese to hide thebacongrease, however there was stillbaconall over the side dishes.
we sent it back again, and it returned, the same plate, the same bagel (with thebacongrease), and the chef had just decided that scrapping off the food that had pieces ofbaconon it was a good idea. the plate came back, with about a third of the food, and freezing cold as it was cooked over 30 minutes ago to be served to another table.
meanwhile, i still had not received the half of my dish that was missing. at this point, we had enough and were ready to leave, so i asked for the bill even though nothing was eaten, and they actually charged me for my dish, and left out the bagel.
when speaking with the manager, he didn't even look me in the eye, and spoke down to me as if he thought what the chef had done was acceptable. he refused to admit to any wrong doings on the restaurants part, and tried to change the subject by asking how my meal was. other than the fact that it was cold, that i only received half of it, and i ate only two bites, it was mediocre, poorly cooked and under-seasoned.
all in all, they tried to feed us food that had been man handled by a customer, sat on the pass for over 10 minutes, then tried to feedbaconto my vegetarian girlfriend 3 times, and never brought me my food. the management ended by saying i hope next time it will be better… like we will ever be back.
