relatively long lines during the weekend but well worth the wait. thepuffsare cooked fresh so they come out very hot (be careful when biting in!). the dough is thin and soft, while the filling is a mildly sweet custard. each puff is bite sized so they go down very easily. we ordered a pack of 9 for $4. remember to bring cash as there is a surcharge for card.

if there's a more authentic chinese bakery around the area then i haven't been there yet. the somewhat 'grimy' appearance only adds to its chinatown-esque charm. all the usual stuff is there (egg tarts, red bean pastry, sweet melonpuffsetc) and more. also try the creampuffsoutside, you can't miss it because of the huge queue snaking around, though i feel it's not the main attraction compared to the stuff sold inside.

20 feb' 15 in the afternoon we went to chinatown nightmarket. the market is held every friday from 4pm-11pm. the place was packed, so it was kind of hard to move around. we tried bbq pork ($4), didn't really like it. bee cheng hiang is wayy better. there is also one place that had a long queue : emperor's puff we bought 3pcs for $1. thepuffswere pipping hot, didn't really like it because the custard had a slight bitter aftertaste. dinner at naruone rice ($2) half-half ($35) we waited for more than 30 minutes for the chicken to came. the rice came not long after we ordered, but  the chicken hasn't come until the rice is cold. the boneless fried chicken gangjung was good, but there were too much chicken skin! :( the fried one is better, the other one (boneless fried chicken gangjung with sweet & spicy sauce) was too sweet for my liking, so it was kinda overwhelming after a few pieces.

funnily enough, word got out that someone knew the owners of emporer’spuffsso before we knew it, a warm batch of custardpuffswere being passed around. the waffle-like aroma was pure comfort against the chilly breeze.

🍴affordable and delicious #creampuffs that draw a constant queue. located in chinatown, this small shop that’s a portion of #emperorsgardencakeandbakery serves hot and freshly made creampuffsout of a small window. we love that thepuffsare highly affordable, wasn’t too sweet, and of a nice chewy fluffy texture.

first of all, the famous custardpuffsare great! a convenient, quick (depending on the line) and super affordable snack for after uni. my mum often buys the refrigerated pork and chicken buns from the bakery to take home, where the pork bun is slightly sweet and the chicken one has hints of ginger. both good! from the photos: today i bought an egg tart for $1.70, yes i could definitely taste the egg in there and the pastry was perfectly flaky and sweet. recently i also bought the glutinous rice ball, filled with red bean and surprisingly filling for its size. the atmosphere of the bakery is lively and busy, and there are so many choices of breads and snacks to choose from. yeah the store does seem kind of unclean but i can assure you that theres a reason for the long lines.

there are always queues outside this shop. and the only thing this shop offers is the #emperor's puff# ,which is kind of bakery and is creamy. $0.35 for 1, $1 for 3, $5 for 18.

i will not recommend to buy for more than 18. because the puff tastes great at the time you purchased, and won't be as the same taste if you didn't eat them within an hour.

staff will place 12puffsinto a box, otherwise into a bag.

heard great things about this place and we happened to walk past it so we decided to check it out.

there wasn’t much of a line when we went so we didn’t have to wait long. super affordable creampuffsthat are baked fresh. we purchased 9 for only $3 and they were piping hot when the staff passed it to us.

they smelt amazing and tasted great too! love how the dough is chewy and the custard inside is not too sweet. but they were nothing special as i felt that i could eat these anywhere. definitely tasty if you are wanting some cheap eats though!

absolutely love the piping hot custardpuffshere and they’ve super affordable despite having increased the price over the years. as there are always people lining up to get them, they’re always freshly made. they only have on service counter so the wait can be long.

hole in the wall. literally. but serves really hot custamrd buns or creampuffsas they'd call it here. mildy sweet and really easy on the tummy, these hot custard filled buns are a delight! don't expect gourmet and savor the cheap fillings of china town. great job guys.

kind of a rustic cantonese bakery. their products look quite out of fashion compared to some modern bakeries. but some items looked and felt very enticing! for example the super supple and spongy sponge cake. xihuahua 🐶 agreed to try their le napoléon which i lusted for a long time.

quite interesting texture. a combination of soft and crunchy layers. certainly a very messy dessert being very crunchy. at first it seemed too sweet but over time the nuttiness kicked in, resulting in a quite good experience after all. quite good dessert if do not say so myself. they store is cramped and messy which is a down point. i would definitely grab the goodie and get the heck out asap.😟

thepuffsare excellent. buttery and sweet. served hot too. loved it! grab it when there is no huge queue.
