efendy restaurant - meze bar

second time i've been to efendy and it was as delicious as the first.staffwere attentive and friendly. my favourite dishes were the prawn and the octopus. also loved the knafeh for dessert. i love the relaxed atmosphere with exceptional service and food.

dinner here on a friday night.staffa bit abrupt on the phone when the booking was made. upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome which was nice. we were seated upstairs which was very mediterranean feeling. every dish we ordered was divine! ezme is a must try! full of flavour and spices. the eggplant dish (commonly known as baba ganoush) was amazing, with a twist of nuts. definitely recommend. the cauliflower was nice, smaller pieces would be even better! the adana is also highly recommended. would go back for sure!

the downstairs part of efendy restaurant makes you feel like you are in a meze bar in istanbul. the food is fresh and tasty, the waitingstaffare warm and friendly. and then there’s the beers, gin and traditional turkish aperitifs like raki (an anised flavour aperitif). if you want a casual and fun night in the inner west, efendy is the spot! #efendy

beautiful location and layout. i fell in love when i first walked in. didn’t have a booking but thestaffwhere able to find us a table, requested for outside seating since it was such beautiful weather. we got to enjoy the sun and food at the same time... how good is that? and you get unlimited refill on apple tea!!!

ordered the breakfast grazing board, and it felt like i took a trip back to my childhood. it had all of the little things i forgot about which made me and my tummy very happy. only downfall was.. it wasn’t enough... i felt i could eat what came comfortably by myself and feel full. and then when the cost comes into place, i was then a bit more disheartened. per person for what was given, didn’t seem fair on the ratio side of things.

i also did return with a group of 8 to try the dinner menu, again the dishes where there but they wherent filling enough for the cost. bit confusing as to which dish is bigger than the other, especially if your big eaters and you want to be satisfied, it’s a tiny bit hard. unless you get a few dishes together like they where pushing us to do (defiantly doesn’t add up cheap this way too mind you) but we didn’t do it anyways.

would i return? possibly... if i’m on a semi full stomach and want to just enjoy the atmosphere

sydney has restaurants to represent so many international flavours. but efendy remains one of its kind. the menu is truly different and actually delicious. a flavour experience you’ll find nowhere else in sydney.

every other aspect of the experience is enjoyable also! thestaffare wonderful when engaged, and the restaurant itself is comfortable and very well appointed, down to the little cups to sip turkish tea from and the beautiful plates.

would recommend their roast eggplant and masticated cream eaton mess style dessert.

it brought back many memories of turkey. we took the banquet menu and were satisfied with the portion and quality. friendly and attentivestaffas well.

i have been to efendy several times and every time i am not disappointed. the food is amazing, thestaffare wonderful and friendly and the feel of the restaurant is great. i have only been here for dinner but will have to try their breakfast.

we have been wanting to go to efendy for their breakfast for a while. unfortunately as we are vegetarian the person said lunch would be better for us when we called and asked. so we decided let's do lunch then.

we started with the spicy koftas, they came with lettuce cups. our server said we need to wrap them in it and eat. we also ordered the lavash bread with butter. the bread was fresh and warm and really nice. we also ordered the salad of tomatoes, cucmber and chilli. a simple salad but really nice and fresh. for mains we went for eggplant bomb. so it's eggplant that's been charred when they bring it on the table they open it they added feta cheese and garlic oil. have to say they tasted absolutely brilliant with the bread.

for dessert we went for the pistachio type baklava with semolina cream. we were warned it could be sweet. i have grown up on indian desserts i don't think anything can get sweeter than that. this was just lovely and the cream balanced it so well.

overall it was an excellent meal, thestaffwere so lovely and the place really nice. the meal cost us about 72$. a place i would love to visit again.

it was such a special lunch at efendy! we had the edendy feast to enjoy many different kinds of dishes. guess what...we had amazing food!!

if you are planning to order the feast, you have to get ready for a big meal! you will be so full after this...

thestaffwere helpful and friendly. even though it was a hot day, the table outside was very pleasant.the food looked great and were divine. i personally enjoyed skewed chicken and lamb pizza kind of thing. and the slow cooked lamb was tender and juicy. i loved turkish mess dessert! it’s so creamy, sweet and beautifully presented.

they have special breakfast menu between 9am to 2pm so i’d love to try it next time!

our first visit, we went for easter sunday lunch. the food was soo flavourful & delicious. allstaffwere very welcoming & friendly. we will be back again! highly recommend efendy for all occasions. thank you for a wonderful afternoon :)

i went there with my family for lunch. the place is comfy and beautiful. food was so yum andstaffso friendly. only thing is the price which i think it was a bit higher than what it really worths

we went to this place on a rainy night and the inside just made us feel nice and cosy.
we ordered the banquet option, all thestaffwere incredibly friendly, they explained each dish as they brought it out, i didn't drink any wine (i enjoyed my omar special drink) but my other two friends did and each dish came with a different type of turkish wine that suited the dish, they also explained the wine and where it was from etc
each dish that came out was bursting with flavour, and didn't take long to come out. the first dish was a platter with different dips and bread, it contained the best hommus i have ever tried in my life.
the second dish was a mini meat pizza type thing, the base was thin and crispy and cooked to perfection. the third dish was the ultimate dish, it was a board with mixed meats from sucuk, to kibbeh and marinated chicken, lamb skewers. i dunno how they marinated and cooked but it was really delicious.
dessert was tasty, light and very well thought of.
next time we go to this place i will really look forward to it and will look forward to trying their new menu to see what other creative ideas they cook up!

i tried some of efendy's food at the parramatta lanes festival and it was absolutely amazing! the lamb was so tender and delicious and the eggplant dish was also good! some of the best lamb i have had. the bread served was also delicious although i am not sure if this is made. thestaffserving were very friendly and i would be keen to come in and try more food!

came here for breakfast over the weekend with my family. the set menu is versatile and really great value for $30. the menu is all inclusive and serves more than enough varieties of dips, breads, fruits and cheeses. finishing with some eggs and sujuk. thestaffwere attentive and friendly and the restaurant was gorgeous. certainly would recommend the breakfast but bring an open mind to try it all and a big appetite.

it was a shame we couldn't use our entertainment book discount for breakfasts (even though we were there for brunch). malestaffdownstairs weren't very friendly; one of them looked like they just got out of bed.  enjoyed the hot foods though.
