excellent taste of turkey. i visited on sunday and was in for a turkish feast at meze bar. the lebanese beers were outstanding, very unique and a great way to start. dips with fresh bread took the edge off my hunger and set the stage for all to come. kofta, eggplant, delicious liver & onion (not like your grandma made!), salmon with artichokes and okra, and evenlambtesticles for those wiling to go the extra mile down the taste extravaganza! i finished with a dessert plate, with all 3 desserts and a pistachio coffee, which was sweet and rich and perfect. love my meal, great service & can not wait to get back for more!

definitely come here for the meats and meze! loved thelamband smoked eggplant. fish was ok but simple flavpurs, nothing like the rich rich meat dishes. service was attentive to the point of overly attentive...dishes were served quickly though. seating atmosphere 10/10 with a quiet second floor and candlelit tables, or al fresco dining with fairylights in the courtyard. tried the lemon barramundi with brussel sprouts, roasted red rice, radish and dill and slow cookedlamband pepper with smoked eggplant and garlic yoghurt. dish of the night! was mopping up the sauce with their freshly baked lavash bread with zahter butter.

turkish restaurant in trendy balmain. the mezes (small plates) are good, although you’ll want to order a lot of them. eggplant dip was a winner, although the ‘eggplant bomb’ - caramelised eggplant with cheese and olive oil made at the table - sounds better than it tasted. the mains are good, thelambprobably the best option of what we had. you won’t find traditional looking kebaps here - i think efendy is going out of its way to take turkish off the street and onto the plate, but personally i wouldn’t mind some of the street back in. three stars.

it was such a special lunch at efendy! we had the edendy feast to enjoy many different kinds of dishes. guess what...we had amazing food!!

if you are planning to order the feast, you have to get ready for a big meal! you will be so full after this...

the staff were helpful and friendly. even though it was a hot day, the table outside was very pleasant.the food looked great and were divine. i personally enjoyed skewed chicken andlambpizza kind of thing. and the slow cookedlambwas tender and juicy. i loved turkish mess dessert! it’s so creamy, sweet and beautifully presented.

they have special breakfast menu between 9am to 2pm so i’d love to try it next time!

very pleasant surprise ! efendy put a traditional, delicious twist on all time favourites from the hommus to the lamb. everything was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and amazingly tasty. the highlights for me were the slow cooked melt-in-your-mouthlambshoulder and the kunefe dessert! thelambwas perfectly seasoned and was so tender it fell apart. this was a beautiful end with thin bird nest like pastry, crushed pistachios and a refreshing rose water after taste. most importantly it was a perfectly balanced dessert, unlike most turkish and greek pastries this one was not overwhelmingly sweet. overall, our experience was faultless, service was prompt and friendly and the food ! definitely worthy of a revisit!

really good guys! came here for my 20th birthday dinner a few weeks ago. as turkish cuisine isn't all that common in australia, this restaurant was superb.

staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. the restaurant was decorated so well and i loved the layout of the restaurant itself.

food was so delicious and presented well. i can remember thelambkofte being one of the best dishes. the 'turkish mess' i had for dessert was amazing as well. i would recommend this place to anyone, especially those who appreciate middle eastern cuisine.

we went to this place on a rainy night and the inside just made us feel nice and cosy.
we ordered the banquet option, all the staff were incredibly friendly, they explained each dish as they brought it out, i didn't drink any wine (i enjoyed my omar special drink) but my other two friends did and each dish came with a different type of turkish wine that suited the dish, they also explained the wine and where it was from etc
each dish that came out was bursting with flavour, and didn't take long to come out. the first dish was a platter with different dips and bread, it contained the best hommus i have ever tried in my life.
the second dish was a mini meat pizza type thing, the base was thin and crispy and cooked to perfection. the third dish was the ultimate dish, it was a board with mixed meats from sucuk, to kibbeh and marinated chicken, lambskewers. i dunno how they marinated and cooked but it was really delicious.
dessert was tasty, light and very well thought of.
next time we go to this place i will really look forward to it and will look forward to trying their new menu to see what other creative ideas they cook up!

went for sunday lunch with friends. very disappointed with the food quality. it has dropped badly from last year.

we started with bread, 1 roll each, one of the roll was burnt and no accompanying olive oil/balsamic provided, which we always had the several previous times we've been. we mentioned this to the waitress, who proceeded to argue about it with a bad attitude. she reluctantly brought some olive oil.

entrees were hummus (7/10) and eggplant (5/10) and prawns (7/10). mains were very average and bland. had thelamb(4/10) and beef with dumplings (5/10).

what a pity the quality of food and service has dropped. efendy use to be one of my favourite restaurants that i would happily recommend. save your money and look for another turkish option with quality food and staff that listen and don't argue with the customers.

i had the five course feast here recently. it was amazing - definitely a feast. i couldn't have eaten a bite more. standouts of the meal included the baba ganuj and humus with fresh pita bread, the jumbo prawns, the tender, falling off the bonelambfrom thelambpie, and the baklawa.

the waitstaff were polite, friendly and energetic.

amazing. check it out.

good food but pricey. one thing i noticed straight away was a house converted into a restaurant but i do like the ambience inside.

service was polite and friendly and the food came out a little quicker than expected.

food wise the menu seemed limited. had the borek which was a lot better than expected. thelambkebap was nice but the smoked eggplant and the sauce seemed to over power then taste of thelamband thelambwas strong in taste already. the bread seemed fresh and the rice had a nice taste to its own

nil issues using entertainment book

my main gripe here would be the prices, even with the entertainment book discount. borek for $16 where i can easily get its for half the price can not be justified by myself. the serving portions were not big either. i wouldnt mind the cost so much if portion sizes were a lot bigger. we almost bought thelambpie for 2 for $60, but we found it hard to justify even though the 2 mains were almost the same price\

overall it better than your average turkish place but i wont be back simply due to the prices they charge

efendy has undergone some renovations and we were invited to experience their beautiful range of authentic turkish food. i’ve had turkish desserts before, but not traditional dishes like what i had there – it was definitely a memorable dining experience. we started off the night with some tektek shots ($5). narsist barcardi, pomegranate molasses, fresh mint and pomegranate in one, and mastika hendricks gin, mastic liquor, lemon and cucumber in the other. some cold meze were quickly followed. pomegranate humus ($12) and babaganush ($12) accompanied with fresh pide bread ($2.5 each). the humus and babahanush was irresistibly smooth and just perfect with the fresh pide – i could eat this all day. lamb’s liver, red onion, sumac salad ($14). the liver was perfectly cooked – it was tender and had a beautiful spiced flavour. dried eggplant shells dolma, lamb, bulgar, sumac molasses ($16). this dish had a beautiful rich acidity that complemented thelambinside. fisherman’s stew ($18). it w

tasty turkish twist. having a turkish boyfriend, i go to a lot of turkish restaurants! efendy wins all of them hands down. i find that many turkish restaurants serve the generic dips followed by some generic kebab,. whereas efendy always offers something a little different and a twist on classic dishes, particular favourites of ours are the delicious hunkar begendi and the delicious kuzu tandirlambshoulder. we eat here once every couple of months and have never been disappointed!
