simple and stunning. highly recommended. really delicious food - we had panini for a late lunch, full of great flavour, and a couple of baked sweets, including chai with white chocolate cookies. sweet staff, flexible with french or english. can't wait to go back next time we're in the ottawa region.

sublime panini's. a little out of the way, but worth the drive. perfect if hiking in gatineau. the veg panini is a personal favorite! nice pastry section too!

first time here but will definitely be coming back! i had the dutch baby and can honestly say i have never had anything like this in the ottawa-gatineau region! you can tell that they don't sacrifice on quality and the portions were very generous--great value for what it was. very sophisticated flavours but still not pretentious. service was great, the kitchen is extremely clean, and the food was amazing...not to mention their desserts look stunning. love it and can't wait to try another creation!!!

in-grained in the membrane. teensiest lil cafe off the beaten path, definitely limited seeding. as much as i have been kneading to try their dutch baby it was a sunny afternoon and decided better off bread on the patio.

i ordered the veggie panini (olive bread pressed with red and yellow peppers, tomatoes, avocado, black olives, goat cheese and cheddar cheese) $6.95. avocado was cumin through the rye! messy! so, so messy! but oh so delicious :) this sandwich was not loafing around and packed some serious cheese! cooled down with some of their home made iced tea. edgar, you definitely know how to steep. please bottle and sell that stuff.

the menu is a chalkboard that changes daily based on seasonal ingredients, so i don't see this cafe going stale anytime soon.

edgar yummy, looking forward to sister restaurant odile. i finally made my way to edgar for lunch today and it just happened to be the first day we could sit outside and enjoy a meal without freezing. the panini with mexican pulled prok was buttery and luscious, the pork had a light touch of cinnamon tempered by the avocado slices and havarti cheese...what a nice combo. bacon and potato soup could have used a little salt but the flavours were subtly wow. we wnt back for cappuccino and dessert...three different ones to be exact. the strawberry-rhubarb danish was excellent! happy servers, great vibe, love the neighbourhood feel. and....they are in the midst of revamping a former vegetarian restaurant (gaia) in hull to open odile...not sure when..their facebook page is full of reno pics...but they will be serving dinner. looking forward to trying edgar for brunch...tomorrow!

went this morning for breakfast, as we are foodies and like to try different places for brunch. i have seen all of the buzz online for this restaurant so had pretty high hopes for an amazing brunch. the restaurant is a nice little place, and has a good atmosphere. we ordered a drip coffee (good) and a london fog (on the sweet side). my wife ordered the soup du jour (tomato) to start and it was really delicious. i ordered a doughnut hole and it was very good as well. for the mains we ordered the dutch baby and the salmon croquette. we both found the main breakfasts underwhelming especially for the price. neither of us finished our breakfasts. the reason being that the dutch baby lacked overall quality of preparation and the croquette was not seasoned very well and was a little on the dry side. the service was good. we would likely not return for breakfast but the lunch menu looks promising. i hope we won't be disappointed for the lunch if we do return.

awesome little brunch spot. the menu changes, but they always seem to have great options. the food was amazing and if it weren't so out of the way for me, i'd eat there all the time. the only real complaint that i have is that it's too small which is a pain because they can get busy, so there's often a line and the limited seating they have isn't all comfortable. but it's still definitely worth it for how good they are.

i've been coming here for almost 3 years and i believe it is the best brunch place in town. everything she makes is so thoughtful, each item on the plate has its own texture and distinct flavour.

she changes her menu every week and according to the season. i always get excited coming back because i know i will get a new experience every time.

we went two weekends on a sunday around 11:30. 15 minutes later the line started to form, lucky we beat the rush.

i will admit we actually had breakfast at 7:00am at home, and our intention was to have lunch. when we arrived and saw the plates of breakfast items vs lunch items served ,we knew we were about to have the 2nd breakfast of the day! we had the dutch baby (wow!), and a mexican egg salsa dish, again wow!
$50 breakfast, but worth every penny. we will be back to enjoy a  meal under the sun on their patio. edit 2 years later: we went back this past weekend, just as amazing as before! yum!

small place small menu..big flavour. hidden gem in gatineau near the college. i wish it was bigger but they have such a great vibe in there. i don't think any where else serves a crazy dutch baby pancakes like they do, think giant sweet yorkshire puddings. gotta see it (taste it) to believe it.
