simple and stunning. highly recommended. really delicious food - we had panini for a late lunch, full ofgreatflavour, and a couple of baked sweets, including chai with white chocolate cookies. sweet staff, flexible with french or english. can't wait to go back next time we're in the ottawa region.

edgar yummy, looking forward to sister restaurant odile. i finally made my way to edgar for lunch today and it just happened to be the first day we could sit outside and enjoy a meal without freezing. the panini with mexican pulled prok was buttery and luscious, the pork had a light touch of cinnamon tempered by the avocado slices and havarti cheese...what a nice combo. bacon and potato soup could have used a little salt but the flavours were subtly wow. we wnt back for cappuccino and dessert...three different ones to be exact. the strawberry-rhubarb danish was excellent! happy servers, greatvibe, love the neighbourhood feel. and....they are in the midst of revamping a former vegetarian restaurant (gaia) in hull to open odile...not sure when..their facebook page is full of reno pics...but they will be serving dinner. looking forward to trying edgar for brunch...tomorrow!

awesome little brunch spot. the menu changes, but they always seem to havegreatoptions. the food was amazing and if it weren't so out of the way for me, i'd eat there all the time. the only real complaint that i have is that it's too small which is a pain because they can get busy, so there's often a line and the limited seating they have isn't all comfortable. but it's still definitely worth it for how good they are.

small place small menu..big flavour. hidden gem in gatineau near the college. i wish it was bigger but they have such agreatvibe in there. i don't think any where else serves a crazy dutch baby pancakes like they do, think giant sweet yorkshire puddings. gotta see it (taste it) to believe it.

so good!!! almost don't want to post a review because the place is so small and has limited seating. but yum! perfect example of a small menu done right. my table shared the dutch baby, huevos rancheros, and poached egg. we brought home paninis for the hubbys and they loved them.greatfriendly service too! only bad side is that its not kid friendly, but theres always the park close by to dine al fresco on a nice day!

edgar is truly a gem. the moment you walk in, you'll feel agreatvibe. although the staff and menus are in french, you won't be judged if you prefer to speak english. the staff at edgar are incredibly friendly and extremely attentive to their customers. brunch is a must here. their menu is small (just like the place) and changes weekly. the dutch baby crepe souffle with pork belly and apple compote is agreatchoice if you want salty and sweet. if you don't feel like brunch, their soups, sandwiches and pastries are always available. try the beignet du citron, you won't regr

highly recommend!. love this place. wish they had a bigger location (and not in gatineau) so i can come here more often.

lovely decor and food is amazing. cozy comfort food, and delicious baked desserts. they do agreatjob of pairing different tastes together so creatively to really create a delightful experience here.

had the smoked salmon panini, topped with cucumber, feta, capers, and yogurt. with the fava bean chicken soup.

and sampled almost every dessert: bacon wrapped cinnamon bun with orange and dates, cinnamon chocolate cookie, mini apple pie with cheddar, and mini reine-élizabeth cupcake (fig and dates topped with coconut).

so delicious! will definitely recommend this place.
