great food experience. wonderful, fresh food, with some inventive twists. i ate there twice while in fairhope, and tried many of the tacos and appetizers. the tuna taco was a standout for me, but everything was just great. loved the turnip "fries"-weird little veggie that takes darned well to this treatment, to my surprise! the friend oysters on blue cheese stuffed toasts were divine, but share them-very rich.dragonflywas a real surprise to find. great staff.

despicable staff. i can't even judge the food or wine. i was in thedragonflyfor several minutes early on a saturday night before they decided to tell me they were closed for a private function. my husband had just gone to the bathroom, so i told them i'd wait for him. they told me i had to leave. when my husband came out, a customer (very apparently the bartender's friend) insulted me. when my husband asked her not to be so rude, the bartender threatened to call the cops! on him if he didn't leave right then. never going back!!!

yummy cool and charlie!.dragonflyis fantastic! charlie, my server was a great representation of the restaurant. the food was fabulous! while i had salad very similar to a wedge the blue cheese tempura was to die for! as charlie put it they really are all about their tapas tacos as well! delicious and an extremely cool concept! keep it up doug good job!!!

my girlfriend and i go todragonflyprobably 2 or 3 times a month. the food is nothing short of excellent, easily the best in town. the staff is friendly and engaging. i like that you can see the goings on in the kitchen and that proprietor, doug kerr, is usually on hand. there hasn't been a menu item i've eaten that i didn't think myself "wow, that was really good". save room for the homemade gelato. check this place out, you won't be dissatisfied... and if you are, go to wendy's where you belong.

best food in fairhope!. having lived in downtown fairhope since september, i've tried most places...dragonflyis the most creative, most laid back, the warmest employees, and the most fantastic end result on the food that i have had here in town. i highly recommend it!

love it!. doug kerr is a master! i've followed him for over 10 years and his food creations are consistently delicious. thedragonflyfoodbar menu includes some inventive variations of tacos and noodle bowls. i wanted to try everything. his server, glen, is always a pleasure to visit with too. we will be back soon.

miss leslie says. . . . . ..dragonflyfoodbar is by far the most exciting food experience to open on the eastern shore. every item on the menu, from sauces to entrees, is created with an attention to detail and assembled in a small, easy to eat package bursting with layers of flavor. you'd have to travel to a large metropolitan city to find anything close. i love introducing folks to this unique dining experience!

exceptional food. ate at thedragonflyfoodbar for dinner. food was beyond creative. loved every dish we ordered (we ordered many items to sample). the staff was great. the actual restuarant ws beautifuly done. the atmsophere was just a little off, and could be corrected very easily. it is too brightly lit, and the music choices need to be carefully considered. i think that a radio station was playing. other than that, the food was great, and we will be returning often.

one of the best new places around.....dragonflyfoodbar just keeps on delivering. every time my husband and i have been, we have had great experiences. we love the comfortable atmosphere of eating at the bar - brooke and shelby are great. everyone there is awesome -- the people are a great match to the insanely good food. the crispy oysters with pickled cabbage on blue cheese french toast is to die for. foie gras tacos? yes please. they have wonderful daily specials like that. flavors are spot on. everything we've had has been seasoned to a t -- with the marriage of flavors that only a truly experienced chef can deliver. great "tapas" styled restaurant. will be frequenting here as often as possible.

one of my favoritedragonflydis hes are the west cost crispy oyster tacos. living in an area where raw and steamed oysters reign supreme its nice to be bad and five star fried oysters prepared in a soft shell taco.

judy.dragonflyfood bar is my new favorite place to eat lunch and dinner. it is hard to believe that such a treasure is in downtown fairhope, alabama. the food is innovative and delicious. my favorites have been the duck confit taco and arugula salad. today i had foie gras taco, oh my gosh, the combination of tastes was so awesome, i am still shaking my head in wonder. the service is topnotch, all servers are friendly and very competent. the chef usually comes and greets as many guests as he can, that is a really nice touch. the restaurant itself is small, but very intimate in the decor. also, there is courtyard seating and it is very new orleansesque. love the place.

the best place in town. well all i can say is wow, every time i eat at the dragonfly, it is so cool to see someone that is allways creating something new instead of going around and hijacking ideas from other people in town, this place has items that no one else in town has,,, if u eat there a few times and u think u have had all that thedragonflyoffers then u are mistaken the ideas dont stop flowin in the head of the chef,,,,

awesome!!!!!!!!. thedragonflyfoodbar kicks ass!!!! this place is definitely my new favorite place for lunch. something has been missing from the lunch menus around fairhope..........oh yeah flavor.......thedragonflyfoodbar is not missing flavor, this is by far the most flavorful lunch in town, and a cool atmosphere with a great staff. if you go, make sure to meet the chef "doug kerr" he's a great guy and wonderful chef, he uses all of his own recipes and assembly ideas, great presentation. after writing this.......i know where i'm going for lunch today, wanna meet me at thedragonflyfoodbar?????

excellent. everything that i have had from thedragonflyfoodbar has been flavorful,from the atmosphere to the food, this place is serving something different that will be admired for quite a while.finally a place in fairhope that doesn't fall into a bland category of food.i would recomend this place to anyone is is not afraid to try something new.the foodbars staff were very nice and professional.its definitely refreshing to see new ideas about taste,food,and flavor and thedragonflyfoodbar is worth checking out.

a welcome addition!. just had lunch atdragonflyfor the first time, and can say with absolute certainty that i will return often. the a la carte tacos, served on a wonderful flat bread, are amazing, and feature flavors not available anywhere else around this area. my favorite was the braised beef, followed closely by the pork carnitas. my seafood loving companions raved about the seared scallops and the tempura lobster. we didn't try any of the noodle bowls, but they sound wonderful. the dinner menu adds a few more options to the menu as well. the place is small,with all seating at a bar that runs around the inside, and they also have a few courtyard tables outside. the chef & owner seems like a fun guy, and obviously knows his food. he has already ditched delivery for his seafood, and is traveling personally to the famous joe patti's market in pensacola three days a week to select the absolute best & freshest seafood available.dragonflyis a new concept for our part of the world, and is certainly a welcome addition. along with panini pete's and master joe's,dragonflyis helping to make fairhope a food destination.
