d.o.c mornington

we were looking for somewhere to pop in and we noticed this place was packed which is always a good sign.

the service was a little average but that’s to be expected when a place is busy and when the food came out that was all forgotten.

the lasagna was tasty and the pizza crunchy. most importantly; everything was nice and fresh.

the chilli oil in my photos was great on top of the food we had and there’s a little shop where you can buy produce and products if you want.

a great little place for a good feed 😊

group bookings to just have a pizza?? good luck! no - as a group you are told what you can eat! how long you can stay! if you don't want to pay more to eat as a group - you don't eat here! 
we won't go here again and neither will any of the 23 people who were coming!

amazing food and delightful staff, i do not hesitate to come here when staying in the peninsula. the wild rice salad and the calzone are amazing as well as the antipasto boards.

excellent food ! the pizza we ordered were really really good, and the spinach salad as well ! service were excellent, friendly italian :))) highly recommend

we shared the pizza sopressa and it was delicious! the base was thin and crispy. the mozzarella and salami toppings tasted authentically italian. the coffee here is also fantastic.

d.o.c definitely satisfies your pizza cravings! i highly recommend the san daniele prosciutto pizza as it was everything a pizza should be. it was cooked to perfection and had generous portions of prosciutto and creamy buffalo mozzarella. also loved the pear and rocket salad. the salad dressing was so delicious as was the grated pecorino cheese as it provided pops of saltiness which paired well with the pear. speaking of the pear.... the salad needed more of it as there were only four slices of pair placed on the top. however, i didn’t really mind as the salad dressing and wood fired pizza compensated for the lack of pear in my salad.

i’m a big fan of the d.o.c that is located in carlton. so when i was in the mornington area, and see a d.o.c nearby, i immediately have my dinner here. i expect the same taste as the one in carlton. but it was just sooo much different.

when visiting d.o.c, i always ordered the same set of menu. spinach salad with tuna, and pizza ai porcini.

in this d.o.c, i am very disappointed with the spinach salad. the spinach was not crunchy. the salad dressing (green pesto) was very plain, lack of taste, and was not generous on the dressing. the tuna was also not that many, compared to the one i’ve ordered in the carlton d.o.c.

the pizza ai porcini here was alright. although they can be more generous in giving the truffle oil to give it more taste.

however, what i like about the d.o.c in mornington is the spacious place and also the small shop that they have selling italian product. they sell wide range of italian produced food, from cheese, wine, fresh made pasta, instant pasta, to jams, candy, beer, and soda. i bought some italian jams before returning home.

i love the food here! i go here with my mum all the time and she takes her friends here whenever she can. in my humble opinion, i think it is better than the carlton branch. i do think that the service could be a bit more personalised and friendly instead of formulaic steps, just to make it a bit more "date friendly" i think it's nice to have a personable and outgoing waiter on those special occasions, especially in an italian restaurant since italians are known for their hospitality. although i think that's my own preference kicking in. kickass food though! calzone is lovely, pizza in general is lovely. drinks are great. would recommend.

been eating here since it’s opening. delicious food. without fail. pizza of the utmost standard and staff are always friendly and welcoming. fantastic atmosphere as it is always busy. highly recommend pizza san danielle and the lasagne. caprese salad too. not a bad item on the menu. only down side is that you cannot book for groups under 8, which means it being so popular there is often a bit of a wait for a table!!

nice establishment. food was fresh and delicious. pizza’s didn’t all come out together but we were a group of 8 that was the only negative. customer service was fantastic.

honestly love the doc in carlton so decided to try out the one in mornington which we have been to previously and loved about two years ago.
let me say the food is beautiful and that is the only thing redeeming my review, i can’t fault the food and that is the only reason i would ever come back.
the service was horrible i can’t even describe the way in which it was either, it’s not as though they take a lot of time, wait time was fine but it was their whole attitude which really let down the experience
i was celebrating my 21st and the service i received and my family received was just not on. the staff are quite rude and act above you, definitely something which i despise in hospitality. it is as if they believe that because their business is booming that they do not have to give customer service which is what makes up part of the package when going out for a meal
hopefully this can be considered as an attitude shake up because by the other reviews left here i can see it is a regular occurrence and not just my own experience.

popular restaurant. nice big outdoor space. was very busy in the evening, we were lucky to get seats along the bench by the window and didn't have to wait too long. great spot away from the noisy tables on the opposite end. 

shared the tasty roast veggie thin crust pizza. also enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana. the cannoli  with a long black (one shot . half strength is strong enough for us) was perfect to finish 👌 

solid fare for a reasonable price. always managing to find us a table no matter how busy they are.

ensure you try the pizzas... well worth the trip.

pizza was average but still enjoyable as decor was lovely and waiters were attentive and very italian authentic. only problem was when it came time to pay the bill, i was suppose to receive $10 in change and i only received a receipt, the server just looked at me and i felt too uncountable to say anything so we just left. would’ve left a tip since i enjoyed my experience; however it’s a low rating for automatically taking a tip without asking prior or giving me a chance to tip myself

came here in a super busy sunday night , took half hour to get seat…pizza is typical neapolitan style which is my favourite。 i think this place is one of top italian restaurants around, has excellent rapport with both local residents and tourists。there are many products origin from italy you can purchase ， including wine ，drink ，different variety of pasta， snacks……great place to try ， definitely come back。
