great location on the main street, and close-ish to the beach.
loads of indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant has a gourmet deli off to the side as well. 
i like the interior design and the feel of the restaurant, like being transported back to italy.

food - the pizza is traditional thin crust style as well, cooked in a wood fired oven. there is plenty of delicious combinations. it does get oily and soggy towards the centre though.
coffee is strong, the beans have a nice robust flavour and the milk is foamed well.

service - now the serious downside is the service. when you walk in, you're hardly greeted at all. people are walking back and forth without an acknowledgement. do you think i like standing here for nothing? the managers have a serious air of arrogance about them, and theserviceis inattentive. maybe this is the authentic italian experience, or maybe they have something against asians, but i've experienced this two times already.

a little slice of carlton in mornington.. i dined at d.o.c on sunday with my folks, and i must add how pleased i was at not only with the food but theserviceas well. the host was most accommodating with our needs. theservicewas a little choppy at times due to the venue being full but still attentive without being in your face. i moved away from rosebud a while ago to start working in melbourne's hospitality scene due to the lack of "real quality" on the peninsula at the time but this sundays lunch was a welcome surprise. the three of us shared the zucchini flower pizza special, the soppressa pizza with provolone, pesto and olives and then finished with the 5 cheese selection. the small wine list was nice my mother enjoyed the soave and the montepulciano went nicely to my head, but the barolo was a star regardless of its price tag. its a great change to have a "city" quality venue in a town of over priced main stays eg -"the rocks" that dosent break the bank. the old's loved it, especially the mini market of produce and cheese. it was also the first time they tried zucchini flower's. so in rapping this review up a great thank you for making my family's day, the worst part was going back home to the city lol. i have also dined at the carlton venue as well.

worst experience ever. staff were arrogant rude and not friendly. would not recommend it at all. left after eating a.very ordinary meal and went and had a coffee and a cake down the street at the boyz 4 brekie what a difference experience staff were lovely andservicewas amazing. i know which place in mornington im going to next time.

best pizza. the food here is hit and miss. the pizza here are some of the best i've ever had, however their lasagna's are very average. love their desserts but theservicehere is hit and miss. i find it's better here towards the end of the evening, rather than early on when there is pressure to eat and move on.

a treat. i been to d.o.c. a few times recently, and enjoyed it each time. theservicecan be a bit patchy; i think it depends on the waiter. once i asked a waiter for a recommendation of wine similar to australian shiraz; his recommendation was spot on. another time, a different waiter didn't even lodge our order.

the menu is definitely quality over quantity; if you expect to gorge yourself, it won't be cheap. however, the food is excellent.

recently they have been offering a pizza with fig slices, prosciutto, mozzarella, and gorgonzola. this combination is absolutely divine!

the coffee is good too!

buzzing on a saturday night - and with the long share-tables in the main area, it felt pretty crowded. butservicewas quick and friendly, and our pizzas arrived like 10 min after we'd ordered.

not the cheapest of places (pizzas upwards of $20 ea, cut into six slices) but they were fresh, delicious and authentically italian. 7 girls ordered 6 pizzas and demolished them quickly and probably could have done a second round.

one of our table ordered the nutella calzoncino and was disappointed with how small it was (compared to others she has had) but the vanilla icecream looked rich with vanilla beans.

the place was packed and buzzing - such a vibe!
we ordered the kids meals and entrees with main too follow. everything came at once, which means some food went cold and we filled up quickly!
they replaced my sons rigatoni napoli because he won't eat cheese and they also had to remake my pizza as it had some plastic on top.
everything tasted amazing and most of theservicewas friendly and warm, beside one waitress, who liked to just about throw things on the table.

doc is my favourite italian place in melbourne so i couldn't resist going to try the mornington store and it definitely maintained the same standards! we got the antipasto board and a san daniele pizza to share. loved the variety on the antipasto board and everything was delicious.
theservicewas friendly and efficient as always.
something to note is the umbrellas outside don't block out the sun when it is setting which is harsh on the eyes. they were happy for us to adjust our chairs to move out of the way though.

"hello? hi.. hey can we get a table ? ah excuse me is this ... never mind" i've been to doc 3 times in my life , 2 of which i have walked out due to the worstserviceexperiences i have ever encountered (mornington and carlton inclusive). they just don't seem to give a dam. the one time i did stand around long enough for them to begrudgingly take my money, i had the pizza thrown down in front of me and demanded to pay the second i finished as it was 'peak' times. i so not recommended this place. 1 star even though the pizza is good.

3.8. works pretty well. we got three different pizzas from here and two salads and they were all rather good. our take away order was taken quickly and the food was provided quickly. servicewas good and pleasant all round. overall, a fine experience and we’d happily return here anytime.

the pizza was great, however theservicewas quite bad, we waited over an hour to get our food, because they forgot our order, and after checking few times, not until all other tables arrive later than us already half finished they admitted and apologised.

best. pizza. ever. we have been a billion times, and have yet to find something they sell which was not absolutely fantastic. 100% would recommend to literally anyone. the vibe is awesome, the food is awesome, theserviceis awesome, d.o.c is awesome! if you don’t enjoy your experience... do you have tastebuds??!!!! but i digress. go to d.o.c!

we went to mornington for lunch and came across d.o.c. well presented modern italian restaurant with a great array of wines to choose from. theservicewas consistent and didn’t have to wait long to order and receive our meals. i ordered the margarita pizza which was amazing with crispy base and quality toppings. my partner had the meat balls which nice however very salty. the red wine was complimentary taste with the meal. we would recommended a visit.

we were looking for somewhere to pop in and we noticed this place was packed which is always a good sign.

theservicewas a little average but that’s to be expected when a place is busy and when the food came out that was all forgotten.

the lasagna was tasty and the pizza crunchy. most importantly; everything was nice and fresh.

the chilli oil in my photos was great on top of the food we had and there’s a little shop where you can buy produce and products if you want.

a great little place for a good feed 😊
